On Oct 2-3 Oklahoma Horror fans as well as fandom at large will have the unprecedented opportunity to see a complete reunion of the cast of the zombie classic, “Return of the Living Dead”

The 2009 Sci-fi & Horror Weekend Tulsa will give fans the chance to catch 10 stars from the film. Included are James Karen (Frank), Linnea Quigley (Trash), Thom Mathews (Freddy), Allan Trautman (Tarman), John Philbin (Chuck), Miguel A Núñez Jr (Spider), Brian Peck (Scuz), Beverly Randolph (Tina), Don Calfa (Ernie), and Jewel Shepard (Casey).

“We are very excited about getting the cast of “Return of the Living Dead” back together says convention director Arthur Sunday.
“As far as we can tell this is the first time anywhere, these guys have been reunited, and we are happy to bring this to Oklahoma.

The con is set to be held at Tulsa’s Convention Center.

“Return of the Living Dead” unleashed on an unsuspecting general public in 1985, told the supposedly “true” story of a zombie siege on a group of punkers and assorted other victims. Revolutionary at it’s time the film featured unheard of element of running and talking zombies as well as pitch black humor all over a cutting edge punk/new wave soundtrack.

“The cast will do a full panel, reminiscing about making the film and it’s legacy” he says.
“They will all be doing signing as well.”

Sunday says that in addition to the “Return of the Living Dead” reunion the con will also feature several other legendary horror personalities.
“We’re working on a bunch of other names that will definitely excite horror fans. I can’t list them until they are confirmed but trust me you don’t want to miss this.”
Event Co-Director Darrell Herman says that the decision to do the con came mainly out of necessity.
“Tulsa and Oklahoma in general has a great history of supporting Science Fiction Conventions but there wasn’t really a lot happening for horror fans, which is what we are. We decided that since no one else is doing it we would throw our own convention.”
He stresses however that there will be a significant Sci-Fi presence.
“Art and I are huge science fiction fans and recognize the relationship between Sci-Fi and horror” he says
“We’re working right now on locking in some A list Sci-Fi names to add to the line-up.”
As planned however the con will offer fans much much more than just big name stars. The con will also include autograph sessions, several tattoo artists, a costume contest, charity auction, and a dealer room featuring memorabilia from dealers all across the United States.
