It's been a long time since I last visited MySpace. I admit it that I've neglected you all but not for lack of interest. I've found a new way to blog and keep in touch..Twitter!
I know Twitter might be too crazy for some of you but I love it being that I'm so busy and long blogging just doesn't fit into my busy schedule (being a mom of 4 AND a working actress). With Twitter, I have direct and fast contact with fans and can see all of your questions in an instant. It's a great way to keep in touch and MAKE NOISE.
If you haven't tried Twitter yet, do check me out. Try it for a week and I guarantee you'll love it. And if you tell me you're from My Space I'll make sure to give you a shout out! Just look for me there at "MarleeMatlin." Pretty simple, eh?
I look forward to seeing you join the 25,300 other followers at Twitter.
Have fun! :) Marlee

It's here! Everything is out on the table for all to see and I'm not holding anything back. My autobiography, "I'll Scream Later" is out this Tuesday, April 14th at your local bookstore. Or you can order on line today at barnesandnoble.com or amazon.com. And after you read it I hope you'll agree that the screaming should begin now because no one should ever sit back silently when it comes to issues of abuse and addiction as I once did. I learned the lesson that silence is the last thing the world will ever hear from me. I hope the same is true for you.
Peace,
Marlee

I'm Screaming Now! :-)
Check out Access Hollywood on Monday night when I sit town with my friend, Nancy O'Dell to talk about my book, "I'll Screan Later." Later that evening, I'll be on CNN on Larry King Live with host Joy Behar talking up the book so feel free to call in and say "hey!" And early the next morning, I'll be on Good Morning America talking up my book some more. I've got plenty of changes in clothing ready! Ha!
And if you're in the NYC area, come out and say hey and buy a book at Borders at the Time Warner Center in Columbus Circle Monday, April 13 at 7pm. I'd be happy to sign your copy - or two or three :-) - of my autobiography, "I'll Scream Later."
If you're nearby NYC but can't make it out that way, on Tuesday night, April 14, I'll be in Ridgefield, Newersey,at Bookends Bookstore at 7pm. And on Wednesday, April 15, I'll be at RJ Julia Bookstore in Madison, CT at 7pm. And for those of you further out - in Chicago, my hometown!! - on Friday, April 17, I'll be at Borders Books in Oak Brook, IL at 7 pm.
And, if you're in LA or want to roadtrip out that way, you all are welcome on Wednesday May 6 at 12 noon and join me on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Hollywood when I get my Star. My old friend, Henry Winkler will be there plus some of my DWTS friends. I'm so excited and it should be a lot of fun!
Keep in touch and tell your friends! Marlee

Ok, this is going to be brief! But I just wanted to let you know, I'm keeping my MySpace page!
After announcing that I would be moving over to Facebook, I got so many emails telling me to stay that I just had to "hear" you all! So I'm keeping my presence on MySpace in addition to my Facebook and help me..Twitter! I haven't quite figured out that one yet, let alone find the time to "tweet." But for now, I'll be checking these three and if anyone has any advice how to "tweet," let me know! Ha!
More about my book. People Magazine comes out this week with an excerpt from my autobiography "I'll Scream Later." The book comes out April 14 and I'll be on Good Morning America the day before (plus do several book signings in the New York area that week) to talk about it. I hope all of you go out and buy a copy (or two or three). This is a whole new path I'm taking here, talking about things I've never discussed before. It's my hope that my truth can serve to inspire many many more than me just being the Deaf lady who asked America to "read my hips!" on Dancing with the Stars.
In any case, thanks again for your feedback. I value each and every comment you all make. I'm looking forward to hearing more after you all get a chance to see the book!

Hey there,
It's been a couple of weeks and I've finally recovered from 2 months on the road with the "Dancing with the Stars Tour." What a thrill it was to visit 38 cities over this Winter, dancing with some of America's most admired ballroom dancers and with my new friends, Lance Bass, Maurice Green and Toni Braxton. I'll be posting pictures on my Facebook page - "Marlee Matlin Official." Go check it out!
But the big news is my new book which comes out next month on April 14th. Simon and Schuster is publishing my autobiography and it's called "I'll Scream Later." After so many thousands of you who wrote me here at My Space telling me how much my dancing on "Dancing with the Stars" inspired you, I thought it was a good time and tell you my whole story, many chapters of my life I've never really discussed publicly. In telling my story, I hope to inspire many more of you to not let barriers stop you from following your hearts.
Anyway, I'll be making my first appearance on TV to discuss the book on Good Morning America on April 13th and will be on Larry King Live on May 7th. But I'm most excited about receving my Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on May 6th. If you're in Los Angeles, come on out to Hollywood and join in the festivities!
You can also come out (buy a book and tell your friends to buy books) and say hi while I'm appearing at book signings and be making appearances on the following dates:
April 13 Good Morning America New York City, Times Square
April 13 New York City Borders @ Columbus Circle 7 PM
April 14 Ridgewood, NJ Bookends 232 E. Ridgewood Avenue 7 PM
April 15 Madison, CT RJ Julia 768 Boston Post Road 7 PM
April 17 Chicago, IL Borders on Michigan Avenue
April 18 Monteverde Academy Monteverde, FL
April 19 Rochester, NY Rochester Institute of Technology
April 20 Denver, CO Uniuqe Lives and Experiences, Buell Theater 7:30 PM
April 21 Northridge, CA California State University at Northridge 1 PM
April 26 Los Angeles, CA LA Festival of Books, UCLA Campus 1 PM
April 27 San Jose, CA Unique Lives and Experiences San Jose Center for the Performing Arts 7:30 PM
May 6 Hollywood, CA Hollywood Walk of Fame Ceremony 12 PM
May 7 Larry King Live
May 8 Los Angeles, CA Barnes and Noble The Grove at the Farmers Market 7 PM
I hope to see you at any one of these appearances. But most importantly, I hope you can get a chance to pick up my book. I'm really very proud of it! Again, tell your friends to pick some up too!
I'll be blogging here am slowly transitioning to Facebook. So come on over and join me there too. Again, it's Marlee Matlin Official at Facebook. See you there! Meanwhile, I'll be here for a while longer. Not to worry!
PS My heart goes out to my pal Nancy O'Dell who had to leave the new season of "Dancing with the Stars" because of a knee injury. I was so looking forward to being there in the front row of the audience and cheering her on. Get well soon, Nancy!

Many of you have been asking for tour info for the Dancing With the Stars tour that begins next month. Yesterday, I opened The Los Angeles Times and there was a huge one page ad for the tour with my name attached. I have to admit it was cool and humbling at the same time. Who doesn't have a fantasy about living life on the road like a rock star? All I have to say is thank goodness I'm happily married and sober! Ha!
It will be nice to have my kids visiting me along the way as we make our way across America in our very own DWTS tour bus. I'm looking forward to seeing America from ground level as opposed to flying over as I often do from the West Coast to the East Coast. It's going to be fun!

Yes, it's been a long time, but I'm baaaaaaaaaaack! I've missed blogging and talking with you all. If I took too long to reply to your friend requests, I sincerely apologize. I've been so very busy and now it's going to be even crazier here because I'm joining the Dancing With the Stars tour this winter!
Last time I blogged it was June the 9th. Dancing With the Stars was over and I was getting ready for a much needed summer vacation with my family. What I didn't tell you then was that as soon as I was done and thanked you all for your support and letters of encouragement, I asled the producers of Dancing With the Stars if I could join the DWTS tour that was beginning in the winter. It was always my fantasy to perform live in front of milions of fans all across the country, riding in a big bus like a rock star; this was a way of it coming true! Lucky for me the producers accepted my "invitation" and here I am four months later ready to put on my dancing shoes once again and DANCE! I hope I remember all the steps!
Meanwhile, last July, I returned to film the final of The L Word. In the end, it was a very emotional good bye that we all had to make but we did it with a bang. I know I won't be giving away any secrets as my friend, Jennifer Beals already spilled the beans but just in case you hadn't heard, Jodi will be putting on some dancing shoes too! The producers thought it would be fun to let art imitate reality so keep an eye out when the show premieres in January, 2009 to see Jodi kick some butt on the dance floor! Meanwhile, Season 5 of The L Word just came out two weeks ago on DVD. I'm so proud of my work that last season on the show and hope you get a chance to see it. I think it's really great.
And while I was filming the last season of The L Word, I was also working on my autobiography. I'm proud to say I'm done and have handed in all my homework (LOL) to the publishers, Simon and Schuster to edit and get it ready. My autobiography is going to be called "I'll Scream Later" and it comes out in April, 2009. I definitely plan to tour the country to promote the book.
So here it is November already and in a couple of weeks just after Thanksgiving, I'll be starting rehearsal again for the DWTS tour. I'll be dancing along with my favorite dance partner, Fabian Sanchez. As I told a reporter tonight after visiting the show, I wouldn't have done the tour without Fabian. He's such a great dancer and teacher and more than anything else, he makes me laugh hysterically. It'll be fun playing like a rock star on my own bus as we go from California to Texas, from Illinois to New York and Toronto, from Georgia to Florida and finally end up in Pennsylvania. The tour begins December 17 in San Diego and we end the tour Feburary 8th in Philadelphia. I can't wait! Along with me on the tour will be Toni, Maurice, and Lance Bass plus dancers from other years who will be coming in and out of selected cities. We'll also have the wonderful pro dancers along with us; Karina, Edyta, Kim, Mark Ballas, Derek, Maksim, and of course Fabian. Other dancers wil be joining us and I'll let you know who they are as soon as they're officially on board. Tour tickets go on sale on Monday, November 10th. Maybe there are going to be some DWTS Tour tickets under your Christmas tree?
Before the tour, I'll be appearing at Walt Disney World for the annual Candlelight Processional on December 10,11, and 12th. It's a beautiful holiday show featuring music and song that puts you right in the holiday spirit. I've been doing it now for I think about 8 or 9 years and it's just a pleasure for me to return each year.
Well, other than that, my life is good. The kids are growing so fast that I can't believe it. They can't wait to join mom on her bus in selected cities and see how a rock star lives. Ha! By the way, my children and I were all so inspired by Senator Obama's victory last night. We watched it together and were moved beyond words. Whatever your politics are and whether or not you voted for him, I think we can agree that it was a moment never before seen in the hisory of our nation. There was also so much positive energy that was flowing out there that it was just too hard to believe that nothing but good things are going to happen. I say this ecause my family and I all felt it when we watched TV last night. It was totally inspiring.
So, here I go once again, ready to dance. Wish me luck. And if you get a chance, come out and see us dancing in your city, in person and live. There won't be any judges or scores. Just a lot of good music and dancing. Bring the whole family! I can't wait to see you all on the road!
Peace and hope,
Marlee

June 10, 2008
Well, I finally decided it was time. I've decided to write about my life (up until now - there'll be more later in twenty or so years!) and it was inspired by all of YOU - my MySpace friends. Honestly, I wouldn't have thought of it until I got so many emails from you telling me about how my being on "Dancing With the Stars" inspired you. What amazed me was that emails came from all types of people, from all over the world. Eventually, I realized that no matter what barriers were out there, no matter what obstacles you might have had in your lives, you all spoke about how my dancing reinforced your desires to overcome those barriers and obstacles. That just blew me away. I really couldn't help being touched by all of your emails and as I said so many times on "Dancing With the Stars," all of you inspired ME -- you really did.
So, I thought I would sit down and write about how I got to where I am today and tell you about all the bumps I've had along the way and about things I've never spoken of until now. I realized that good or bad, it's part of who I am; I certainly don't have any regrets. Eventually, I hope that would be the same for all of you who wrote to me. Some of what I'll be writing it will be familiar to you and some of it will be surprising (it's still is to me!). And it will go way beyond the deaf lady who learned how to dance despite not hearing the music --far from it. And I promise that just like me, it'll be honest and funny. And it definitely wont be about creating shock value or writing for the sake of gossip. It'll really be more about how I believe we all face barriers of one kind or another and that in the end, we can accomplish so much more if we focus on our abilities rather than dwell on perceived "disabilities." As I've said, I may be deaf but I'm always listening to my heart and I'm far from silent. In the end, silence is the last thing the world will ever hear from me. I hope that after reading the book, the same will be true for you.
Thank you, My Space friends and fans once again for your words of encouragement and your emails of support. I hope you'll enjoy the book when it comes out next Spring.
Peace & love, Marlee
