Well it's that time again... "What time?" you ask. Well Christmas of course! And in honor of this yule tide season we have decided to put the Christmas song we did last year up again for FREE download.

And for all of you Scrooges and Mr. Grinches out there who couldn't see the fun in it last year, consider this a second chance from jolly ol' St. Nick himself to be put back on the nice list.

Oh and btw, for those of you others who may be confused this is NOT the B-side, nor is it a new song.

Enjoy. Merry Christmas from Destroy The Runner

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to tell you a little about our upcoming release of the single "Sinners."

"Sinners" is a b-side from our 2006 debut release "Saints." The song was first titled "12 Pieces" as written by our original vocalist, Kyle Setter while tracking "Saints" but the track didn't make the final cut to be on the album.

After some thought and a bit of time passing since we had released any new music, we decided to have Chad re-write the lyrics and track a new version of the song. After releasing "I, Lucifer" in 2008, we received a pretty significant amount of feedback from fans saying that they missed the "heavy" stylings of "Saints."

Although we are extremely proud of "I, Lucifer" and feel that it was an honest display of our feelings and style of song writing at the time, we wanted to give something "heavy" to those of you who were missing that sound.

This song is not necessarily a glimpse of what you can expect on the new record we are currently working on but we had a great time making it and hope that fans of "Saints" and "I, Lucifer" alike will enjoy it.

We will be self releasing the b-side as a digital release only on sites like iTunes, Rhapsody, Amazon, etc. and while we don't have an exact release date you can expect it to be available very soon. We'll keep you posted with more details on it's availability.

I, Lucifer Review

Destroy The Runner is a HC/ Screamo band from Encinitas, CA. which released their debut CD “Saints” on Solid State records in 2006. After sucsessful touring the band returned in late 07.. to record some new material for their new CD “I Lucifer”. On the new record you find less screaming and more progressive Rock parts. This comes because Chad Ackerman replaced Kyle Setter, who was doing the vocals before. Ackerman..s voice really remind me a lot to Brandon Rike of Dead Poetic and also to Darroh Sudderth, who sings in Fair To Midland. Destroy The Runner plays very melodic Rock music with hard edged metal riffs, pretty hard drums and bleak lyrics. Happily the vocals are more focussed on “normal” singing, while the screamo parts really got reduced a lot. Alright, I have to admit, that the record starts with a super hard Screamo track, that was only catching my attention because of the strong drums. I was afraid, that the whol record consists of Screamo tracks, but luckily I was wrong. And so “I Lucifer” contains eleven slamming Rock tracks, consisting of awesome melodies with perfect guitar work. I really appreciate the fact, that DTR is not centered on Screamo – instead you find hard – but pleasant ambient Rock tracks. The band has done good to replace their foregoer singer. Some people may hate me, that I wrote that, but the Screamo genre is really fading out. Destroy The Runner has recognized that and created something new. The new singer really has a stunning voice, the melodies are strong and breathtaking at once. To me DTR is one of the most interesting projects to find on Solid State records.

Hi friends,

We write to inform you that unfortunately we have decided to cancel the second half of our European dates including all shows in Belgium, Italy and Germany.

After arriving in the UK and playing a string of about 6 shows throughout England and Wales we quickly realized that the tour had been put together in a very unorganized and unprofessional manner. The shows were poorly promoted, our rented van was literally a death trap on wheels in which we feared for our lives in, we were losing money and felt that it would be in our best interest, for our future and morale, to fly home early. Had the tour been put together better we would have loved being there.. But the list of problems we ran into was literally to much to express.

However, we DO very much appreciate each and every one of you that came out to our shows in the UK. It is our passion to play music and we love doing so for you, even if there are only 3 of you. Haha.

And to those in Europe, we sincerely apologize for the cancellations. This is NOT the only time we were planning on coming overseas so keep your chins up because we WILL be back on a better tour, playing better venues. You can count on it!

Sorry and we love you.
