Well the beat battle hosted by Street Level Youth Media in Chicago on June 15 went pretty well. The place was real cool and the people were too. There were 12 producers total, we each got to play 2 beats, 1 minute each. I made it all the way til the elemination round with 3 producers left, then got knocked out. It was cool though, met a lot of cool people and the people really liked my beats. There's another battle on July 20th that i'll be going back to so watch out for that.

So the beat battle at Columbia College got postponed a week til this past friday (3/16). I was one of 12 produers competing and made it through round 1 with 'West Side Story' and 'East Coast Anthem' (3-1 judge votes). Round 2, I was up against DJ Eternal (dude's got skills), he came with a hell of a hip hop beat that was undeniably hot. I came back with 'Gritty East' and he came with another hot track. I had to pull out 'What A Song' which I was planning to use later on, but even that didn't pull it off. Judges voted for Eternal. I was the youngest one there, and left 6th place.

Overall was pretty good though, made a couple of contacts there and what not.

I just got accepted into my first beat battle. Its gonna be at Columbia College's Hokins Annex in downtown Chicago. I'll be one of 16 contestants battling for a nice $150. I'll probably be the youngest one there, and hopefully will do some damage and draw some attention and make some connections. I'll post another update after it goes down.

My bro just got home tonight, and my family is heading out to Toronto the day after Xmas to visit relatives up there.

right now in Toronto, Canada. pretty boring. up here visiting relatives and stuff. i did spend a whole day in downtown Toronto digging for records though. Spent about 50$ on 6 records, some good samples in there though. Will be back in town tomorrow night.
