Hi Everybody, It's been a while since I posted any blogs. Been reading a few. But we have sme interesting band developments. As you know, we found a fill-in for Lisa back in November or December of 2007. Lisa had a bunch of stuff going on and needed someone to take some of her nights and we found Trina Murray. Subsequently, Lisa has left the band. Trina has been doing awesome and there are no complaints or problems but the summer and fall hold a lot of time when she needs to be in Chicago or doing wedding with friends and we needed another girl to take Trina's spot when the time came. Rich has a daughter who knew someone that has wanted to sing with us for quite a while. We never knew her or knew that she wanted to sing so when Trina gave us some dates she couldn't do, we decided it was time to find another girl. We set up a time to try out Rich's daughters friend. It is such a small world!!! IT turns out her name is Molly Meloy. We had a guitar player in the band back when it started out by the name of Kevin Meloy. Hmmmm....and Kerry had been aquainted with a band called the Meloy Brothers. Some really really good musicians who have played in the area for years. Well, it turns out that Molly is Kevin's niece and Bob Meloy of the Meloy brothers' daughter. When we heard her sing it sounded fantastic. We had our fill in for Trina. As things turn out, Molly also can play guitar and keyboards so right now we are in hte process of seeing if she can becme a permanent member and have Trina sing as much as possible also. They sound really great together on stuff like the Wreckers and they both do great on harmonies so with a little bit of work, I think that the Horsin' Around Band has just in the last 6-8 months grown a bunch as a band. Watch for both of the girls to be singing up a storm in the near future. For now, we will be doing one or the other for probably the rest of the summer. Take care everyone and I will try to be back here soon.

2008 brings a new idea. As many of you know, Lisa was going to be leaving the band on New Years Eve this year. She couldn't give us the time we needed. She has some much bigger needs of her own these days. However...she was willing to do a couple weekends a month. Well, that was going to be a little rough on us and the public as well not knowing when or if she was going to be there. Then one night we played at Jumpers and a young lady by the name of Trina Murray showed up with a bunch of her friends and got up and sang at the end of the night. She sounded great and we all just kind of looked at each other and then packed our equipment up for the night. As we were taking it to the trailer, Trina and her husband Joe walked by and Gary made the comment that she sounded great and, "Would you like to sing in a band". Trina said she would gladly sing whenever she came out to see her friend Lisa but that wasn't what we had in mind. Gary asked her if she would be interested in singing permanently with us to which she excitedly said yes. After exchanging numbers we had our first prospect for a replacement for Lisa. A few weeks later the girls came to us with an idea. Could they both sing every other week? Lisa didn't want to leave but couldn't do every week and the more Trina thought about it, she couldn't do every week either. After a little thinking we decided that it sounded like something we would really like to try. And as time goes on, the more time we spend together, the better the idea sounds. The end of January will be the end of them singing together and they will start trading off each week. They both have lots to offer vocally and we are all looking forward to the future. Lisa and Trina are both really fantastic young ladies and to be honest, we are really pinching ourselves wondering what we did to deserve two great singers and beautiful women to be singing with a bunch of old, hairy legged guys but we are very pleased to be in the situation. So if you get the chance, stop out and say hi to us and let us know what you think. If it is half as good as it seems, we will be very pleased.
