I LOVE JACKSON!!!!! There is truly NO place like my city. I didn't realize how much I missed it til I touched down...and luckily it was for Memorial Day weekend so it was crackin! I was only there one day so I had to get it in!

I am soooooooooooooooooo tired! I was in the studio until like 4:45 am! but I ain't complaining cause I definitely got a banger out of it. You ever been so sleepy your eyes started crossing??? Maaaaaann! It's no joke....Glad I PLEDGED! OO-OOP!

And it's gonna be a long day. I gotta leave for my cousin's funeral tonight in Germantown, Maryland. (RIP Allen Prather, our Prince forever.) I'm so blown. He was only 18 and his death has really helped me come to terms with the fact that life is super short and if you not doing something that makes you happy everyday, then start doing whatever is gonna give you joy everyday. It's so many people out there doing what they gotta do to get by rather than what they wanna do. That's that BS. Ladies, if you wit a nigga that don't know how to act EVERYDAY and wanna pick and choose when he wanna be down-that's that BS. Tell him 'I need that everyday up outcha!' And if you work at a job that you can't stand but you just tryna keep the lights on- that's that BS. Think about what you know in your heart you really want and start planning for that TODAY. Life is too short, Ju.

And please don't take this the wrong way- I'm talking to myself moreso than anything. I aint made it to where I wanna be, forreal, so who am I to play God? I'm just sharing what I need to hear that works for me, ya feel me? Speaking of which, yall need to go cop 'The Secret.' It comes in a book (I hate reading) and a DVD Documentary type thang (my preference). If you're really ready for change in your life (I know the hell I am!) then this will get you going. 'I stand by it...I guarantee it.' lol

Whattup Folk!

Preciate ya'll checkin out the blog. Since this is my first official post, I guess I'll start by telling you a little about me. I was born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi (Sub 2 we in herrrrre!) but I've lived all over from Germany to Ft. Worth, Texas cause both of my parents were in the army. I attended Jim Hill High School and went to Howard University. Majored in Radio, TV and Film while there and worked in radio for WHUR 96.3 FM and WHBC 830 AM as an on-air personality. Now, ya'll may hear me say some crazy shit from time to time but please don't get it twisted.... I'm a educated chick ya heard me?

I come from a big family-my grandparents had 14 kids. I love kickin it with my people and having a good time and if you live in the midwest and your last name is Bolden or Larry then we prolly related. I like to cook-scratch that- eat, shop, and travel and my favorite holiday is 4/20 ;)

Aight, enough about me. Let's get to the music. My single is called 'I'm Da Shit!' and I'm currently working on my first album. This project will be centered around female impowerment as well as experiences that real chicks like myself go through. For example, I have a track called 'We Win!' that features some of my potnahs and basically talks about how we kick it and how we live our lives in general. (By the way, me and my homegirls call ourselves the Get It In Girlz (GIIGz) cause thats what we do: get it in. Just wanted to point that out cause you'll definitely be hearing about them frequently.)

I've been blessed to have the opportunity to work with a few artists such as the homie David Banner, Luda, Chingy, YV (A, ya'll might not know this cat but you will veeeery soon) and some fiya ass producers like L.T. Moe, Shodrae AKA Mr. Bangladesh, Drumma Boi, Platinum Brothers, Fury and Unique, and K. Eastwood. I'm SOOOOOOO excited, yo! It's been a long time coming and I can't put into words how it feels to be finally living your dream. I can remember being little and me and my sister used to write songs and perform them in the bath tub-we made and recorded our own radio show and everything. Couldn't tell us SHIT! lol! There was a small window next to the tub and I used to pray that somebody would be walking down the street one day and hear us and shoot us a record deal...hahahaha! It's funny now but I was DEAD serious.
It didn't exactly happen like that but, nevertheless, it's still very fairytale-ish. I am TRULY blessed.
