Guitarist Massimo Fiocco (Massy) and vocalist Brian “Yap” Barry of One
Minute Silence are to bring their ultra-high energy chemistry to the stage
once again in the Pink Punk live band line up.....
.. ..
Pink Punk, the electronica / rock / hip-hop project fronted by Yap and Donna
Williams and produced by John Hendicott, will hit the road towards the end of
this year performing tracks of their two albums, Zoo Politics and Zombie God Delicious.
In addition to Massy, the live band includes drummer Wyn, DJs Taki 183,
performance poet Mokcha and guest vocals from Kate Tempest.....
.. ..
Massy
brings heavy guitar rawness to Pink Punk’s
mix of eclectic breaks, deep atmosphere and evocative vocals. This will be the
first time Yap and Massy have performed together since the spit of One Minute Silence, who were once voted
the "Best British Live Act" in Kerrang! magazine.....
.. ..
The
live band are currently reworking tracks from their two albums, creating a
multi-level experience of metal brutality, dance euphoria and topical poetry
against a backdrop of visuals further pushing the band’s style fusing
boundaries.....
.. ..
Yap on the Pink Pink live show: “The Pink Punk live show will be
documentary meets band meets circus. Mixing up metal raucousness for the pit
crew, dance grooves, hip-hop and slam poetry, the show will be a multi
platform, multi media experience.”....
.. ..
Yap on playing with Massy: “I’m
delighted Massey’s involved in the project. He brings a raw energy to the live
band and I’m very excited to be hitting the stage with him again”....
.. ..
Massy on Pink Punk:
“I love
how original Pink Punk is. There's a powerful message being spread with Yaps
lyrics and I think John Hendicott is an amazing musician and producer. I'm
excited about what's gonna be created when I start to write with them. I feel
the live shows will be something really special!”....
.. ..
Pink
Punk’s second album, Zombie God Delicious was released on 1 July and received
outstanding reviews: ....
.. ..
Rocksound: “The soundtrack for the current world … The fact Bill Hicks is officially
sampled speaks volumes of the intent here. Inspirational.”....
Subba-cultcha: “The most exciting artist in UK
hip hop ... an album of outstanding quality in terms of song construction,
production, social conscience and musical innovation...simply outstanding.”....
Sphere: “Harking back to the best moments of OMS only with an added
raw, poetic undergroove … one of the most original records we will hear this
year. ....
.. ..
The
new single “Rockstars” is released on 28 September via Freeport Records / Universal Digital,
and features guest vocals from highly acclaimed rapper and poet Kate Tempest.....

Pink Punk featuring
Kate Tempest: “Rockstars”....
Single Release Date: 28th
September 09 (Download)....
Record Label: Freeport Records /
Universal Digital.....
.. ..
Pink Punk is an electronic/
rock/ hip hop project fronted by Ireland’s
politically outspoken Yap,
guitarist Massy, vocalist Donna Williams and produced by John Hendicott. Yap and Massy were both
former members of One Minutes Silence,
voted best “British Live Act” in
Kerrang magazine, and with Pink Punk they have reunited to bring their ultra
high energy to the stage once again.....
.. ..
The new single “Rockstars”
taken from their second album Zombie God
Delicious, is a catchy stomper of hip
hop, dirty electronica and slam poetry. Vocalist Yap combines infectious
hooks delivered with slick poetic flow
and passionate conviction while guest vocals appear courtesy of Kate Tempest, whose fans include Roots
Manuva and Scroobius Pip. Roots described Kate’s session on Radio 1s Colin Murray show as a highlight
of his listening year. Track 3: “End
Times” showcases Kate’s exciting jazz hip hop band: The Sound Of Rum who recently sessioned on 6 music.....
.. ..
Both “Rockstars” and acoustic
B-side “Calling Time” are taken from the current album, which also features
the voice of Bill Hicks in the track
“Advertising”. This is the first time Bill Hicks family have licensed the use
of his voice in a product other than his own and the band are donating all
revenues from the sale of this track to the Bill Hicks Foundation For Wildlife
Rehabilitation.....
.. ..
Previous radio airplay support for Pink Punk and their
furious Tech Itch and Reso remixes of “One More For The Road” has come from Radio 1s Zane Lowe, Rob Da Bank, Annie Mac,
BBC 1xtra, BBC Raw Talent and Kiss

Hello to all the lovely people. At long last the new P puNk album is finally being mixed and should be ready for your ear very soon. I am very excited as I feel this is the best music project I have ever put my mind to.
It has been a pleasure working with Funky John and Donna Williams again. I feel we have an album in the bag thats going to grab the attention of a lot of people. My words are loaded against the establishment as usual and as for Funky Jonhs sounds and beats, well the man's gifted as far as I'm concerned. I asked him to make it sound like a circus meets chaos meets technology meets greed meets insanity, and the funny thing is, he has. I mean you tell me where you'd start with all of that and only 12 notes to play with?
We started with the title Zombie God Delicious two years back and worked our way forward from that concept bascially. The title speaks for itself and really you'll have to hear it for yourself to see how we've managed to capture the meaning of it in essense.
Over the next few years I plan to release many different projects. I am half way through my new book and I will be making another spoken word documentry very soon. All of my work is of a political/philosophical/educational/revolutioary nature and as much as I hope it will give you a better insight into the world in which you live, I also hope it will help open your eyes to the important work of many others.
In saying all that a young lady that goes by the name of Excentral Tempest features on the new Zombie God album. I wanted to feature her simply because she is one of only a handful of individuals I get the highest kind of inspiration from. She is a beautiful, lovely, intelligent, considerate, powerful young lady and I hope above so many things she is listened to by a huge audience over the coming years. Mother Nature really is fighting back. I'm so blessed that she is a friend.
Our world is filled with lies and truth. The air you choose to breathe is bottled in two ways. One bottle will fill the belly in the minds eye with mediocrity and one will fill it up with poetry. You get to choose the grail you want your brain to drink from. pEACE AND lovEly frOm Yap.

Hi Lovely People. I hope all is well and lovely in your day. I will keep this on the brief side.
Tara Ireland; beautiful heritage site being destroyed by motorway. "They stole paradice and put up a parking lot" Is that how the song we all sing goes? I can't rememeber.
Anyhow the poetic troops are gathering on the hill of Tara, just outside Dublin, on the 31st of oct. The protest is on going and all are welcome to call and lend their support at anytime, however the next big gathering is on the date mentioned only two lines above.
I hope I can make it over there again on the 31st. I hope many more will come and join the people's party on the hill. Peace and lovely with jam on top.

Advertising, no sir, no way, nobody ever falls for the advertising, like the whole worlds one step perfect up on parrot bubble verse, life the show you can't rehearse for, closed until further notice, but in the mean time - advertising, advertising, no sir, no way, good lord, nobody ever falls for the advertising - Nature despise her face in life's - mirror mirror on the wall-too fat, too tall, too- how does one say this and keep a straight face? - Too plain for our table.
Taste the rainbow - try our bird and our bee - wear our shirt on your sleeve - become the man you were designed to be - transform your life today - Are you over thirty and still single? - whose norm were you born to fit anyway? Advertising, no sir, no Mrs, no maybes, nobody ever falls for the advertising - Brad Pittizing the man into six pack category hell - Poisoning the well - tree's felled for books that read no bigger than the latest thing since sliced bread cliché - Squeaky clean niche cliques that I can't join - Squeaky clean niche cliques reaching all the parts that other beers can't reach that I can't join - not that I'd want to anyway -too rich I guess to be just hung there in pocket. Life style choices I can't afford to buy - price tags I can't afford to fly - not for all the candy in the window - you get the picture - spin it- do not adjust your sets.
Advertising - splicing the dice to throw hands that add no weight to our lives - patriotic, patriarchal snot bling - the shark so slllick these days one can't even see its fin coming - the virtual kings of channel sap pumping out empty - try the link effect - hotwiring the airwaves to tell us that, greed is good - saturation, masturbation, mutilation mind holocaust - the sheep running for the pen again cause the sheep are still lost - blind mice running towards the farmers knife - the plight of ignorance- super duper, uber alas, jingoistic fetishization packages - personality to order- fetishization packages - personality to order - can-ob-you-fu-not-sca-see-sion-it - the whole biscuit crumbling into monkey jumble - right there dead in front of you - blunder in our poetry - once you pop you can't stop - red sock dying the wash - loading language in a way that leaves one licked - tossed - in a bubble - the trouble here with you lot is that you don't listen- pro's selling their tise-ments to us in bad faith - enticing the mice with icing but no cake - twenty three black birds to the pie accurate- and that's right, party pooper, party pooper, come on, party pooper me- how does one strike the so-called pose.
