We made it back home after two grueling days on the road. Our cats are no worse off as they love to travel in the car. One more festival left to host this year, the Clinton Art and Music Festival. It will be held August 23rd. this is the 3rd year for this event and as years gone by it is once again free. Loads of great art, food and of course fantastic music.

Then we start planning and plotting the course for POWER OF PROG II and the 2nd Progressive Rock Hall of Fame Awards Presentation Show which was a big success this year. We already have some great bands in the works for next year's event.

We made many friends at this year's festival and we would once again like to thank all the wonderful bands for a job well done. The attendance was small but they played like they were entertaining a full house.

However we were deeply saddened that after months of planning, preparation and promotion, that we did not get to hear our friends Cathedral perform. Just as they were starting to do sound-check a tree in town took out some power lines so we lost power throughout the community. For some odd reason the only building that had any power was the KAC but the power kept spiking so we had no choice but to pull the plug on the last performance to prevent any damage not only to our sound company's equipment but the equipment of Cathedral as well. It was very unfortunate that Cathedral were not able to perform at this great event. We hope that in the near future we can get them to come back and perform at a Power of Prog Festival till then we wish them the best for being extremely professional and gracious about the whole fiasco.

Please stay tuned as we will have many photos and even some videos coming soon!

HOW DO YOU MEASURE SUCCESS.

There are many ways to measure success. One is financial success. Nice, Yes! But in our book it doesn't really mean as much as physical success. Over 6 months in the making and 1,000's and 1,000's of dollars later we have what is to be a first of many successful festivals to come. As with anything in life there were some glitch's which is quite normal for an under taking of this magnitude.

We lost some very talented bands prior to the festival but were rewarded by having some other great bands fill in. Day 3, just moments before Cathedral was to take the stage we lost power due to a tree taking out some power lines and rendering the small town of Clinton in a black out. All in all the event ran fairly smooth. We all made many new friends.

The performances by all the bands and solo artists we top notch. Unlike the big established festivals, this one was very special. Any one that attended can attest that this event was history in the making. The weather was perfect the venue was nice and the sound guys did a fantastic job.

We want to thank all that made this event a raging success.

JENNIFER KATONA: for all of the hard work behind the scenes and keeping us in check.

LAURIE LARSON: from the Progressive Rock Hall of Fame for all her unselfish hard work over the past 8 months, this was a historic event and would not have been possible and or a success with out you.

KOZ and MARK: from Koz Audio for sound the best sound we have heard at a show in years, you guys are the best.

ANNETTE CLARK: at the Kirkland Art Center for providing support and a wonderful venue for this event.

MIKE FLAVIN: at USA Progressive News for covering this event and all the photos that that will soon be posted on many site like this one.

VINCE MILLER: for being there and helping out where needed.

Our wonderful sponsors: Tombstone Grill, The Village Tavern, Big Apple Music, Life and Times of Utica, and Melodic Revolution.

We would also like to thank Cassaundra Barber at the Observer Dispatch. And the great bands that performed at this year's event.

The Watch, Souljourners, Veil of Maya, Fluttr Effect, Storms Approach, Ego Rob Metz, John Ford, Laurie Larson, Tim Lowly Ensemble, Acoustic Trauma, Rocket Scientists, & Lana Lane.

A special thanks to Jim Roberts: for a wonderful speech. Greg Bendian: for a great speech and fantastic performance, Grande's Pizza, Souljourners for playing a second show on Saturday and providing your gear for some of the other great performances also Navigator, Family friends and fans of prog that helped make history.

We look forward to year 2!

June 24 2008 6:25 am and 1,200 miles of pavement stretch out before us the car gas gage says we have plenty of petro. Supplies needed are loaded smokes, gear and riding buddies (our 2 cats) and ready to move forward cats UDO and Shadow they love long road trips. It's time as Jennifer an I head out 3 meals 2 tanks of gas and 900 + miles later we arrive at our hotel in pennslyvania tired but filled with great anticipation and excitement as we are nearly there. One last smoke and off the bed.

Day 2 6:30 am the June 25th we again head out for the balance of our trip on some of the most wonderful winding roads. we arirve in Clinton at about 11.00 am it's nice to be back home. Some cleaning and unpacking. another meal and Laurie arrives only a few hours late as her flight was held up in Tampa do to a bloody rain storm. some small talk about the festival, travels and so on then off to bed.

Day 3 just one day before we kick off the festival. So many last minute items to take care of. Pick up the keys to the venue, Visit with our frinds at Big Apple Music and pick up back line walk the venue and try to plan every last detail. scribble down some notes drop a blog and continue promoting Power of Prog. now that you all have all read this I hope you all are as excited about this awesome event it has been a huge undertaking and in the works for the past 6 months not all has gone smoothly, but then again its what makes it rock and roll.

We hope that you will join us this weekend for what promises to be an event that people will talk about till no less than next years festival. Till we meet, we thank you all for the great response and the great friends that we have made thru the past six months.

We thank all the great bands for coming from all over the US to entertain you. and all those that applied to play the festival. though we would have loved to have you all play, it was just impossible. so many talented musicians and not enough slots on the bill.

One more night of sleep and then the bands will begin to arrive many sound checks to make sure all is well and then we will finally open the doors to see all your wonderful smiling faces. again thanks for all your support. see ya soon.
