Hello!  YOUNG QUITTERS just finished playing Heliotrope VI, and we're thrilled and honored to have been around so much talent.  Here is a video that documents the event and features live footage of us!  For those of you unfamiliar with Heliotrope, it is an annual festival hightlighting underground and experimental music in the Twin Cities scene.

Hi, how are you? Oh yeah? Well that's just super. Say, we've got news for you. Croix has a myspace profile for his "DJ" nights; if you can call three winos asleep at the bar while some college-educated dude thwocks his wang on a scratched copy of "frampton comes alive" for four hours a "DJ SET," then by all means. You only live once, right?

Croix's profile

There's a 30mn mix that you can download for free, too...hot stuff like The Meters, Wilson Pickett, the Stones, Ike and Tina, etc. No fake punk bands playing fake disco, I promise.

A man I saw the other day, in the back seat of an old Buick, wildly laughing and rocking back and forth.  It was one of those cars which has a stereo system worth more money than the actual car, betraying exactly how crappy the car is. The bass sound was rattling the nuts and bolts apart.  A proper-looking elderly couple walked by the car and the man rolled down his window.  Rocking back and forth, he exclaimed, "'Ey--I'm masturbatin'!" and laughed hysterically.  He noticed me, immediately changed his tone and asked, soberly, "Is that your original hair color?"

To those of you who read these kind of things,

Here's what we've been up to since the last update.  You may have noticed some fancy photos on our page, playing an outdoors sort of affair.  We did that.  Also we've been writing some blistering new tunes entitled: Sweet Nug't (a tribute to our favorite restaurant and future sponsor the Lyndale Deli, serving the best falafel in town), Don't Bring That Trash, Black Cabin/Nebuchadnezzar, eEasy, Mt. OK, Spit Talkin' and more.  We're recording these hot licks in a matter of hours with John of KNIFE WORLD, FAGGOT, & SYCHROCYCLOTRON fame.  Keep your ears, eyes, noses, fingers and skulls carefully peeled, exposed and ready to recieve/absorb our new EP.  We promise it to you before the end of Autumn 2007.  Catch us live for performances around the Twin Cities that will almost certainly burst your boils and shift your paradigm completely out of recognition.  Visit our space for live show updates and email our label Home Taping Is Killing The Record Industry at octorok@hotmail.com to subscribe to our mailing list.  Peace.

Thank You's 3 most frequently asked questions:
1. Why do you guys sound so annoying? (Joe's fault)
2. Is Tom single? (Why, yes)
3. When is that damn album coming out that you've not been able to shut up about since August and we're beginning to think that you are lying about it and don't say "soon" again because we don't believe you and also what's with your weird song titles?

ANSWER: The album, titled "Sun Sons" is nearing absolute completion and will be available by mid-April! This CD will be released courtesy of Home Taping Is Killing The Record Industry (Minneapolis). Track titles, in order, as follows: 1. Sun Sons 2. Manifest'd 3. We Feel Fucking Great 4. Old Pup 5. Mating Calls. Keep posted for the CD release show, mid-April, possibly at 7th Street Entry (?).

Well, our album is at least 90% completed, due out sometime in early '06. It's tentatively titled "Sun Sons" and will feature 5 songs. Also: Many thanks to everyone who came to the Triple Rock last friday, we all had a great time. Terrorclops, Devillock, Andrew Broder, and Tim Glenn all played amazing sets; thanks again guys.
