First off...don't forget about "Share Your Thanksgiving" with New 10 and The River. This is your chance to do the warm fuzzy thing for turkey day. All day tomorrow we'll have folks out front of our studios at 918 Ohio Street collecting your non perishable food donations. Or you can look for the barrels at your favorite supermarket and donate there. Either way, the food will help local food pantries and soup kitchens so people all over the Wabash Valley can have a good Thanksgiving.
Then on Saturday, Scott Steele will be broadcasting live for the grand opening celebration of the NAPA store in Paris, IL. He'll be there from 2 to 4pm EST / 1 to 3pm CT with all the details on some awesome deals for you car. NAPA is located at 1249 N. Main Street in Paris.
Next Wednesday and Thursday (November 19th and 20th) we're going to give you a chance to win tickets to see Staind. Staind along with Seether and Papa Roach will be playing the Pepsi Coliseum on November 23rd and all you have to do to win a pair of tickets is listen for us to play a Staind song. When you hear one, be caller 10 and the tickets are yours.
And some things to keep in mind...our 4th Annual Coats for Kids (and Adults too) Drive is coming up in December. Start going thru your closets looking for those coats you and your family don't wear anymore. We'll be giving you more info about that in the next couple of weeks
And we're still looking for more River Girls. If you or someone you know would like the join the legendary Hardee's River Girls, just go to our official website, www.1055theriver.com, and click on the River Girl Search banner. All the details and a way to submit photos is right there.

This past Friday, we teamed up with our sister station HI-99 and News 10 to raise money for the Red Cross to help out the flood victims in the Wabash Valley. And once again, you all stepped up. We raised a little over $31,000 that day and EVERY LAST DIME will go to the Red Cross to get people exactally what they need. Now, if you or anyone you know needs information on flood assistance, all you need to do is go to our official website, www.1055theriver.com.
Also, wanted to remind everyone that our 10th Anniversary Bash is coming up this Saturday (June 21st) at the Indiana Theater. We'll have beer, a killer band (Rumor Factor) and of course someone is going home that night a little richer cause we're giving away that $10 grand. Now, if you don't have your ticket to the party, then you're not getting into the party. Which means you can't win the 10k. So...listen for those cash sounders all week long on The River.
Guess that's it for now. Don't forget to check out the River Girls My Space page for some new pics of our hotties.
Later Rockers!!!!

105.5 the River is celebrating our 10th Anniversary this year. What a better way to celebrate than by having a listener appreciation bash; like a "10th Anniversary $10,000 Bash"! The $10,000 bash will be free, but you must have a ticket to get in to the party. So, how can you win tickets? You may win them in one of two ways: - Coming up on Monday, March 31st, the River will be giving away tickets to the 10th Anniversary bash. Anytime you hear the cash sounder on-air, caller 10 will win two tickets to the bash.
- We will be out and about with your chance to win tickets at special live broadcasts. The live broadcast schedule will be posted pn our website, so make sure to check back for the locations, dates, and times.
If you win tickets, you and a guest will be invited to join us at the "10th Anniversary $10,000 Bash" coming up in June at the Indiana Theatre in Terre Haute. At the bash, all ticket holders will go into a drawing for the $10,000, and someone will go home that night $10,000 richer (See official rules for complete details). You may only win tickets once during this promotion, and each person is limited to one ticket. Also, you must be at least 21 years old (by 6/20/08) to participate in this giveaway.

What's crackin'!!! It's Troy. This year, I've been invited to join a team for the Vigo County Relay for Life. And one of the things that goes on other than the Relay itself, is several fundraisers to support the American Cancer Socitey. One of them is coming up toward the end of this month and is taking pictures thru Olan Mills. The price is just $20.00 and what you get in return is one of two choices. You can either get a Family Portrait which consists of one 10 x 13 photo. Or you can gt the "Just For Kids", which is limited to children 16 years old or younger, first pose and with that you'll get one 8x10, two 5x7's and eight wallet size photos. The pictures will be taken at the Torner Center in Deming Park on Friday, March 28th from 3pm to 9pm and Saturday from 10am to 6pm. It is very important that you call as soon as you possibly can to make an appointment because we'll be on a schedule and appointments are necessary. Viewing dates for your picutures will be Wednesday, April 9th and 10th from 3pm to 10pm at the Torner Center in Deming Park and they'll schedule your viewing time and date on the day you take your pictures. If you would like to make an appointment or just need more information about this, call 812-877-6373 or 812-230-0342. You help is greatly appreciated and remember, the money raised from this will got ot the Relay for Life / American Cancer Socitey.

After three months and a ton of keys given away, the 2007 Summer To Ride Finale' is here. It's coming up this Saturday and we'll actually start thing off with our first ever "Summer To Ride - Ride".
THE SUMMER TO RIDE - RIDE
Anyone and everyone who rides a motorcycle is invited to join and help raise money for a local organization, "Success By Six", which works to prepare young children with the skills they'll need as they enter school and begin to learn reading and writing. All we're asking is a $5 donation with every cent going to "Success By Six". Registrations starts at 12:30 at Ambrosini's with the police escorted ride starting at 2pm. The ride will go south on State Road 63, then come back north to Fowler Park to present the conations to "Success By Six". After the presentation and a quick picture, the ride will go up through Riley, take 46 to 40 and end up back at Ambrosini's just in time for the Summer To Ride party.
THE SUMMER TO RIDE GRAND FINALE' PARTY
Once again we're showing the Wabash Valley how to throw a real party. This year, the Summe To Ride Grand Finale' Party will be at Ambrosini's. But not just IN Ambro's, but all around the place. We're taking over the lot next to the building, behind the building - hell, we're even closing down a section of 14th street. Miss 105.5 - Jade, will be there along with the River Girls. There will be a ton of door prizes, food, a beer garden and live music from 'Public Exposure' winner F.H.O.D. Matter of fact, go to our main My Space page to check out their song "Peacemaker" or hit their My Space page http://www.myspace.com/kkfhod. Either way...their an awsome band that you need to see. That right there is a hell of a party by anyone's standards. But, since we go bigger, better, louder and harder than all others, there is more. We will be giving away the final five keys to the bike. And of course, once those keys are given away, we have to start trying to find the one that starts the bike. That's right! That night someone is walking away the winner of that 2007 Victory Jackpot motorcycle.
So make sure you're at 105.5 The River's "Summer to Ride Grand Finale' Party" The party starts at 4pm and is preceeded by the Summer To Ride - Ride. If you're not there...YOU'RE A BLOODY WANKER!!!!!

Okay...I've seen a few concerts in my day. And number one in my book is still the Metallica / Godsmack show at Conseco Fieldhouse a couple of years ago. But coming in a very, very close second is the concert I saw this past Friday. That right - I'm talking about the "Route Of All Evil" tour featuing Motley Crue and Aerosmith. Dispite the cold, this show kicked some major ass.
First off...Motley Crue. When you first caught sight of the stage as you walked into the Verizon Wireless Music center, you saw the stage filled with towers and hanging cages made from (what looked like) cast iron and a drum platform that had skulls and bones decorating it's base. Then, just after dark, the house lights went out and you heard this scorching guitar sustain ripping from out of the darkness. Then in a explosing of fire (literally) and sound, they band started the night off with "Wild Side" And from that point on, it just got better. Visually, it had everything you'd expect from a Motley Crue show. Fire, explosions, scantally clad women. It had this dark, dank, raw, powerful feeling to it. Then you add in the music that has made this band legendary..."Girls, Girls, Girls", "Primal Scream", "Shout At The Devil" and every hit the band has every put out, peppered with comments and inspiration from Tommy Lee (who was awsome on the drums) and Nikki Sixx between songs. You forgot how cold you really were. Then, to wrap up their set, you had Nikki thrash a bass guitar and as the band walked off the stage, Tommy going "WHEN I SAY MOTLY YOU SAY CRUE. MOTLEY! (from the crowd) CRUE! MOTLEY! CRUE!" Truely an awsome experience.
Aerosmith was equally as good. The stage set up was simpler than Motley Crue's with a lot of space for the band to run around, plus a 30 foot extention off the front of the stage into the pavilion. There was this long into with a projection onto what looked like a huge white sheet as the band took the stage. And just at that first note to "Toys In The Attic" was hit, the lights came up, the sheet dropped and it was on. Steven Tylers vocals were spot on and Joe Perry's guitar playing was mind blowing all night long as they did songs like "Draw The Line" "Baby Please Don't Go", "Dream On", "Eat The Rich" and even they're newest song "Devils Got A New Disquise." And during "Hangman Jury", Joe Perry and Steven Tyler came out to the end of that stage extention and played, and even though it felt cold enough to, they made is snow in the pavilion. Which with the lighting and the lasers, looked awsome and gave that extra something (from a visual aspect) to the song. Unfortunatlly, Tom Hamilton wasn't with the band that night because he's at home recouping from a round of chemo. But they had another Boston boy who has played with Joe Perry on his solo stuff (but I can't remember his name). But he did a little bass solo / interaction with Steven Tyler that eventually lead into that famous bass line intro to "Sweet Emotion". Which drove the crowd insane at that point. Then, for the encore, they did "Walk This Way". Outstanding!!
So, dispite the cold, windy night, this was an awsome show from two legendary bands. And possibly the only time anyone will get an opportunity to see both of them touring together. I can't wait til I can see either one of these bands again wheather it be on the same tour or seperate.
Well, there is my take on the "Route Of All Evil" tour. Later freaks
