Hello friends and fans,

 

I just wanted to take the time to wish you all a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. This year has definitely been an exciting and fun one for me, both musically and in my personal life. I feel like I’ve made great progress with all the songwriting and recording I’ve done, and I have you to thank for spreading the word to all your friends and family. With that being said, I have a special Christmas deal (that will last from today until December 31st) that I want to offer you all---to show my gratitude for how amazing you’ve been this year. At the beginning of the year, I recorded an album at home called, ‘The Gift of Love’, which I later used to call the EP I recently released with ‘Something to Hope For’, ‘Stay’, and ‘The Girl Next Door’ on it. For the next week, I am offering the original album idea for, ‘The Gift of Love’ (10 songs—5 of which are on my page now labeled with a BONUS at the end of it) along with ‘Something to Hope For’, ‘Stay’, and ‘The Girl Next Door’ for FREE!! All you have to do is send me your e-mail address in a message and I will send you all the songs for FREE in a personalized e-mail. It’s the least I can do for you guys. I recently played a show at Katmandu in Trenton, NJ, and the entire night was filmed for all the artists. Very cool of the venue to do that. Included in this performance was my song, 'The Girl Next Door'. You can click on the link below to view it. I think it came out great and am extremely excited to share this with all of you. Hello friends,

The subject says it all. If you were to purchase, 'The Gift of Love' Bonus Edition CD which includes, 'Stay', 'Something to Hope For', and 'The Girl Next Door' as well as 10 other songs that were for the original album idea of The Gift of Love (only $3 in total--that's 13 songs for $3 including cover art), I will send you a personal note through an e-mail with the songs attached for you to have right away. You can find the info for the Bonus Edition CD in my 'About Me' section underneath the Itunes button for 'The Gift of Love'. What I will do to make the decision easier for you is to post the songs on my page from now until the end of the year for you to get a taste of what is on the album..but only if you guys and gals really want me to. Hello friends,

 

I posted this bulletin earlier this morning, but figured I would send it out again just in case you missed it.

 

So I wasn’t expecting them to go up on Itunes so soon, but I just checked the store and they are live. “They” are the 3 songs (full band versions) I mentioned in my previous bulletins and blogs:

 

  1. The Girl Next Door
  2. Something to Hope For
  3. Stay

 

“Stay” and “Something to Hope For” were produced by an amazing musician/producer/friend/jack of all trades, Rob Freeman of The Pilot Studio (Cobra Starship, Hit The Lights). “The Girl Next Door” was produced by some great friends in H&S Music (top friends on myspace). Every time I have recorded with Rob it has been an inspirational experience to say the least (Postmark Twain recorded our last EP with him back in December of 2007) and I am so excited to share these songs with you. I truly hope you enjoy them as much as I did recording them. With that said, you can listen to all 3 songs on my page right now (and if  you have trouble with any of the songs…like if they don’t play for some reason, you can head to www.purevolume.com/jimgaven and check them all out there), and have the option to download them from Itunes if your heart so desires. Enjoy!

 

P.S. Aside from getting the songs on Itunes, I will be doing a special deal through my merch store that involves a batch of new songs (and maybe a t-shirt) that I was going to release on Itunes before the opportunity arose to record these 3 songs. Hello friends,

Other than the daily quotes, it's been a little while since I've sent a friendly hello to you all updating you with what I've been up to musically. Long story short is that over the past 3 months, I've recorded 3 songs which I'm extremely excited about. 2 of them you've heard before on my page, one is brand new. You may be asking yourself, why would he record the same songs over again? Well, the answer is that I've been wanting to have full band versions of, 'Stay' and 'Something to Hope For' for a long time now, and it just so happened to work out with a new song I wrote called, 'The Girl Next Door' to do 3 full band versions of songs with some great friends and producers. These songs couldn't have come together at a better time or in a better way. It all comes back to the fact that music is universal and is a constant inspiration for me. I thank God every day for the ability to share the gift he gave me through music, and I only hope that you enjoy these songs as much as I do.

'The Girl Next Door' was recorded over a 2 month span with some friends in H&S Music Group. The full band versions of 'Stay' and 'Something to Hope For' were recorded and produced by Rob Freeman of the Pilot Studio (ex Hidden in Plain View and has worked with bands such as Cobra Starship and Hit the Lights). I can't even begin to describe how grateful and amazed I feel about all the support and work that was put into these 3 songs. It seriously means the world to me, and I can't wait to share them with all of you.

With that being said, their will be many more updates coming very soon....new website, new myspace layout, new pictures, and most importantly, new songs. The subject tonight is one I've been thinking about a lot lately. What if every single one of you, who was friends with me on myspace, downloaded/bought just 1 song of mine from Itunes?!  That would be over 40,000 downloads! That is a staggering number to me--just makes me realize how lucky I am to have such an amazing bank of friends and fans here on myspace. I know I say this a lot, but I really do appreciate all your support and kind words on my songs.

But, getting back to the subject, what if EVERY single one of you downloaded/bought just 1 song of mine from Itunes or on my webstore (though you can only buy albums there) jimgaven.ecrater.com? That would be amazing, and maybe a ground-breaking thing in the music industry. Think we can make it happen?!
