7:00 Zodiac - Zodiac is a band that has always made its mark with a live show that is hard to forget.
7:45 INK - INK stormed the music scene with a sound that reasserted the guitar riff driven/bass and drum groove of Rock and Roll.
8:30 Rome In a Day - As the saying goes, “Rome wasn’t built
in a day.” For Washington DC based Rome In A Day, the group couldn’t
agree more. The name is a satire, intended to convey the point that in
an industry where there is such a focus on instant gratification, great
things still take time, patience, dedication and, most of all, hard
work.
9:15 Atom Strange - The birth of Atom Strange began in the
winter of 2006 when guitarist Alex Rude was working part time for a
friend at a high end comic book shop in Manhattan. Alex came across a
copy of DC Comics Showcase 117. It was the debut of the title character
of Adam Strange. With a tattoo of an atom on his arm and his life long
fascination with the world of Scifi and outer space, Atom Strange was
born.
10:00 Diablo Royale - Gritty, hard-hitting rock n’ roll from New York City.
10:45 Eve To Adam - Eve to Adam is ready to bring rock music
back to where it belongs. On its 2007 major-label debut, QUEENS TO
EDEN, the New York City heavy-rock group that hails from Queens
presents a streamlined collection of guitar-driven anthems in the
tradition of early nineties rock with a slight flair for eighties rock
showmanship .
11:30 PUI - Roll Call: Dramatic rock melodies laced with
glossy hip-hop beats. Check. Honey-dipped rhythmic vocals coupled with
a deep unprocessed guttural flow. Check. Villainous good looks. Check.
(Check. Check. Check. Double Check.) Visually arresting, turbocharged
performances that leave you head tripping reality. Check
12:15 Magnesium Jake - Magnesium Jake is a one-stop shop for
truely original, no holds barred, brewtal rock music. The boys created
the group to take back the local scene in Connecticut one stage at a
time.

Our friends in King Hell put together a really funny list of the worst metal album covers. We asked if we would post it on our blog, and they agreed, so here it is. BTW, King Hell is an awesome band, metal music fronted by two stand up comedians, there is nothing quite like it. Check them out here.
Metal: it aint subtle, and nowhere is that better reflected than it its album cover art. But when metal album covers go bad, the blend of forcefulness, awful concepts, and poor execution results in a spectacular retardedness unmatched by any other rock genre. And we're proud of this. So we're sharing our favorite examples with you in two installments. Behold...
#5 - Stryper: Isaiah 53:5
We're not sure what fever dream Christian metal act Stryper stepped out of, but they're coming to save your soul, dressed as bumblebees, driving an attack camper. They're kinda like the A-Team after a nervous breakdown. Dig the guy on the right. He brought his own missiles. He's extra ready for a wild night of not-having-sex and Bible study.
#4 - Pantera: Metal Magic
A) yes, this is the same Pantera who would go on to release Vulgar Display of Power. They used to look like this: Pantera Glam

B) in case you don't speak Spanish, "pantera" means panther, which is why the put a picture of a, um, cat monster on their debut album... actually, what the hell is that? Really, it looks more like a collie. A demon Lassie, with a belt and no pants, wielding what looks to be a poorly conceived turkey carver certainly constitutes "metal magic", but, still, this cover looks more like a banner for a high school football team--the historic enemy of scrawny metal heads everywhere.
#3 - Flotsam and Jetsam: Doomsday for the Deceiver

Another awesome entry in the "Dude, my friend is a sweet artist and he'll do our cover for some weed" catalogue of metal album art. What do we learn from this cover? Well, Satan lives at the corner of Flotsam and Jetsam streets, and the Creature from the Black Lagoon can totally wreck him. And, fear not, the lyrics from the record are equally killer. A selection from the song "U.S.L.W":
Tonight we take the stage again,
To shock you and capture your holes.
Nothing like getting stunned with a cattle prod and having your orifices taken hostage.
#2 - Man-O-War: Anthology
While Man-O-War have a song called "All Men Play On 10", we're pretty sure Man-O-War play with each other. The "metal warrior" front and center here is wearing a bedazzled loin cloth, ugg boots, and appears to be fisting a yorkie. And, yes, that is Fabio on the left. We hope you like their songs "Blow Your Speakers", "Sign of the Hammer", and "Gloves of Metal" , 'cause they're definitely gonna play them for you when you're forced to watch them at Chippendale's in hell.
#1 - Attila (Eponymous)
What makes this the worst metal cover here isn't the awful concept. It wins because Viking on the right is none other than a young Billy Joel. We swear to god. As metal covers go, there is no worse spoiler than the Piano Man, though, ironically, this record also has best titled metal song ever, "Amplifier Fire, Part 1: Godzilla", later re-recorded as "Uptown Girl".

Ask people who is the hottest woman in rock and you are sure to get a plethora of answers. The reason? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Another reason? The rock scene is full of hot rock chicks!
Case in point..Hayley Williams from Paramore, Christina Scabbia of Lacuna Coil, just to name a few. The rock hotness doesn’t begin and end with their fierce good looks.
Talent, attitude, intelligence and fashion sense are just a sample of what truly makes these women hot rockers. With so many strong sexy talented women to choose from it’s hard to pick just a few, but here are some of our faves.
Angelina Del Carmen, front woman for the NYC rock band Charetta, is not only a multi-talented musician, actress and model but her love of theater drove her to direct a number of shows in high school and college.
She has also performed dance and has done freelance photography. A woman who is not only beautiful but can do anything she puts her mind to? Beyond sexy!
Angelina and Charetta had their CD release party for Defying the Inevitable at the June 6th Gotham Rocks Showcase. Charetta will also be playing both the September 5th Showcase at Great Adventure and the September 12th show at Crash Mansion.

In this Moment vocalist Maria Brinks isn’t just a pretty face, she is a survivor, she is a mother and she is the new face of metalcore. A survivor of child abuse, depression, teenage pregnancy and her mother’s drug addiction, all which are expressed in her songwriting, she takes an active role in talking with and helping fans who can relate to the same personal tragedies she has overcome.
As the lead singer of In this Moment she has put a new face to the male dominated metal scene all while managing to stay feminine. She transitions seamlessly between hardcore growls to beautiful clean vocals in the bands two albums, Beautiful Tragedy and The Dream.
An alluring survivor of a woman who is an inspiration and can headbang and rock with the best of them makes Maria one of the hottest women in rock.

Next in our list of the hottest women in rock is Ali DiPippo, lead guitarist from the Washington DC based Rome in a Day.
Ali originally joined the band as the bassist but they soon discovered that she was an exceptional vocalist and songwriter as well. When the band found a bass player, Ali took the well deserved role of lead guitarist and backing vocals.
As a gorgeous, versatile musician and a talented rock guitar goddess she fits perfectly in the role of one of the hottest women in rock!
Halestorm’s captivating singer/guitarist Lzzy Hale started writing songs at the young age of 13 - she and her brother started the band a dozen years ago.
This sultry front woman has a raw dynamic voice and takes control of her guitar, her band and her fans. She is one of the hottest women in rock not only because of her stunning good looks, but also her undeniable ability to command an audience.
Shadows Lie songstress Kira Leigh is a force to be reckoned with. Fierce stunning beauty, awesome style, fiery red hair and the fact that she is a talented lyricist are just some of the many reasons she belongs in this list.
But perhaps it is her multi-octave range and her hauntingly beautiful vocals piercingly depicting each emotion that makes her one of the hottest women in rock.
Last but absolutely not least in our hottest women in rock list we bring you the metal vixen Raiana, a stunningly beautiful model and singer of NY band kHz.
In addition to her sexy growling vocals in the alt-metal band, Raiana is the official Spread Radio Live Vixen, model for Dave Navarro’s clothing line and featured in Maxim’s Bacardi Mojito ads among many others.

Now that Summer is behind us, we figured it would be a good time to
let you in on our pick for favorite show. We brought in our friend
Kayla, DJ on Sirius XM Octane, to help us decide. After all, going to
concerts is her job! Without furher ado:
“My pick for the best summer concert was the one I had to wait for
all summer long, Stimulate This! tour featuring Staind, Shinedown,
Chevelle and Halestorm. I ended up going to the Philadelphia show at
Penn’s Landing which was the 2nd to last date of the tour. Every band
put on one hell of a performance. Halestorm opened up and Lzzy sang her
heart out & the band was dead on feeding off a wild crowd. Up next
was Chevelle who always has a solid live show. I got to hear some of
the new songs which sound amazing live. Shinedown never seems to
disappoint as Brent commanded a roaring crowd. Man, were the fans loud!
Haha… and I love watching Brent and Zach interact on stage, it’s like
they’re making love. Staind closed up the show as I watched from the
side of the stage. It’s amazing to watch from that perspective as the
packed crowd sang along to them. After the show, to close out the tour,
the bands put together an “Epic BBQ.” They brought in a DJ, dancers,
clowns & grills and I was able to dance & drink up with all of
them for the perfect way to finish out the summer. I thank Staind for
putting together this tour cause it was definitely the best one yet!”
