2007. Wow what a gnar year.
It was definatly a year of new things, New bands, New friends, even a new job here at the end...
I have to laugh, I went back and read through some of my old blogs. Damn we had some times didn't we people? It made me realize how great ALL of my friends are, old and new. And it makes me wonder what we're gonna do this year to top those crazy things we did.
2007 was a year for new music. Cinder Road, most importantly. My first time being "involved" with a band. WI State co-leader or what ever we are called lol. I saw these guys for the first time March 28th when they opened for Daughtry. I will admit that it wasn't the music that first got my attention. No, a certain someone caught my eye before they even started playing. ;) I believe you know who that is, so I won't name names... =) But then, the music. DAMN! Finally a NEW band that plays ROCK. Good old Rock. I so needed that. That night was a blast, Shannon, Jessica, and Todd, we so have to catch a show again! I will never forget it. Then there was the Cinder Road show in Madison. I was literally the ONLY fan there, and yes I was "THAT KID" I wore my Cinder Road shirt to the show. lmao. I was such a chicken that I hid, with my arms crossed over the shirt, until Luke walked in with NAT and MIKE. I could have died. but it was ok.( see prior blog I think). Then in June, I had to DRAG Shannon with me to the show, but HA HA HA the laugh is on her, cause now SHE knows the words better than I do! Ahhh yes, nothing like gettin to buy your fave band guys a drink, and I still owe Nat one. ;) Sept 2nd was Taste of Madison, and we treated our boys to a WI welcome, a bottle of jaeger and some Bucky Badger shot glasses. Let me say that a Cinder Road show is definatly a GREAT cure for a 2 day hang over. Not to mention all the great people I got to meet while trying to sell cds for the guys. Ladies, I can not wait to hang with you at a show. =)
Continuing with the new music theme, I can't forget to include Fair to Midland, What a fuckin Fantastic show, even if the stage was the size of a postage stamp. Not to mention a bunch of sweet guys, and I am still sorry for scarring Darroh with the "carefull she might be contagious" joke about Katie. lmao. And of course Papa Q. damn he's awesome. That night I also heard Framing Hanley, they're pretty damn good too.
I got to go to a TON of great concerts, including, Kill Hannah, with Marashino, *(and the sucky band that I can't remember) Bullet for my Valentine, with Escape the Fate(LOVED THEM) and of course The Confession (thanks for hitting me with the water bottle Tay. and for the secret;), Papa Roach, with Hinder (can we say back stage party?) and that damn shitty band operator that I had to sit threw 3 times!, Buckcherry, with Black Stone Cherry (where i got to tell the drummer of operator that they suck and therfore came up with my "I WILL NOT BE MEAN TO BOYS IN BANDS" mantra, Warped Tour, where I learned a great pick up line from Chelsea, "Hey... great shirt." Which apparently works even when you DON"T know who NINE INCH NAILS are!... And of course the two most important shows, MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE, for with out that show, there would be no KARI, one of the bestest concert buddies I have ever had, and The night that will go down in history as the best night of 2007, November 8th. The AVENGED SEVENFOLD show. Sigh.
And how could I forget, the TWO Battles of the BANDS? My babies. I cant believe we pulled those off. DAMN! how fucking amazing.A big hug and tons of thanks go out to the AMLS boys! What would I do with out my little bros, helping me out?
Moving on from my music obsession, I would have to say one of the best things of this year was again, the family camping trip. I hope we get to do this every year. There is nothing in the world like it. Even though we fight and bicker, it is still such an amazing time. I think one of the things that sticks with me the most from this year besides my nephew giving me a stuffed purple Hippo from build a bear for my bday, was the night my bro and I sat in the misting rain, in the middle of the night, fishing. And how many of his lures, and bobbers I managed to lose. Especally the glowing one, the laughed our asses of watching as fish would grab it and it would go bobbing across the water. lol.
Hmmmm let me see...what else....
Of course the new additions to my extended family, baby Elsie, and Addison. Two of the most precious little girls in the world.
My new tattoo. Every time I look at it, I smile, because of the lyrics to the song Requiem. "Stay in my mind, til it's my time, and may you be there when i see the light...keep missin you is all I do, speak to me tell me how is the view" I got that tattoo, because that song helps me to think of my Grams, and my Aunt Elsie, and not be sad that they're gone, but to know that they are in heaven, and someday, they'll be waiting for me.
I have to say that 2007 was a good year. I really cant think of anything to bad that happened. Unless i'm just blocking it out. I mean really the most HORRIFIC thing was that Eighteen Visions broke up. and yes, I am STILL devastated. But all in all, no matter what, my family and my friends are what matter most, and together we had a great year.
So to all of you that actually read this, to 2008, may be be even greater than 2007. I look forward to posting many blogs about the wonderful times we will share.
*and a special thank you to myspace, and msn for keeping me in contact with all my friends that are far away, John, Amy, Melvin, Cristina, Kari. Also, for allowing me to annoy Mick Deth with my random questions and comments, it keeps me amused.

Even though it seemed that the entire world was against me going to the Avenged Sevenfold show, I went anyway...
and had a fuckin amazing time!
Me, Bobby, Chelsea, and Kari all went, what great bunch of ppl to go to a show with, especially since Kari is just as crazy as Chelsea and I! =)
We started out mid to left of center of the stage about 7ppl back... great view....
The Black Tide opened the show... they were pretty good, but it was hard to hear the vocals.... but I liked 'em. Great energy, and they really tried super hard to get the crowd going...
Up next were my boys in The Confession. I was so fuckin stoked, I almost died when they came out on stage.... True to form they were awesome. They did Jealousy, No Angel, Dance with the Devil, The Rise and Fall, and Through these Eyes, and The End is Near (not in that order).... I wish they would have done Requiem but its all good. At one point Taylor did this move and all I could think of was Scott Weiland, lol. Of course the rest of the band was awesome too, perfect guitar solos... =) They were soooo good. By then end they really had the crowd moving, I know they gained a ton more fans, they had to because they fuckin ROCK! I was the only one in my area that was totally into it, singing with every song... I'm sure Taylor saw me ;)
Operator sucked of course. The crowd even started chanting A7X! A7X! And the stupid lead singer was like "they can't hear you" and I was like no dumb ass we want you to get off the stage cause YOU SUCK!
The crowd was so intense I could barely breathe, and actually fell down once in while waiting for A7X to come out...
then FINALLY, the lights went out and AVENGED SEVENFOLD came out. The freakin crowd went INSANE! I thought I was gonna die!!!!!!! and poor Chelsea... we'd already lost Kari...
Zacky came out wearing a dorky sweater, and his thick rimmed glasses, he looked so damn adorable! They were so freakin amazing... They opened with Critical Acclaim ( I think). I made it through that one and Reminissions and then got the fuck out. I have a nice slice across my throat and some nasty bruises from literally fighting my way through the crowd... But I wouldn't have missed any of it for the world.
Then they played:
Afterlife I Won't See You Tonight pt.1 Beast and the Harlot Almost Easy Burn it down Scream Bat Country
encore was: Seize the day Unholy Confessions
I was freakin out when I saw Zacky with the acoustic, I love that mans voice... thats got to be one of my most favorite parts of the show when he sings...
After the show we went out to the lobby and I got to show The Confession boys my tattoo. Kevin was first, he was like Oh my god! And took some pics of it with his phone lol. then I made my way to their merch table, and had Jeff and Justin sign it, and then Taylor. Taylor thought it was pretty great, he even thanked me lol. Then he was like "Can I get a hug?" I thought I was going to die... like I'd ever say no to him! Then I had Matt sign it and he was like "TAYLOR! did you SEE this girls Tattoo?" Taylor goes" YEAH! I gave her a hug!" lmao. Idk, maybe Taylor doesn't usually give hugs? lol.
Then we went outside... met a vampire, and hung out by the vans/busses...
Spent a TON of time talking to Jeff from The 'Fess, he was way cool and once again we got let in on some inside information - apparently the guys are always good for a little secret... I'm crossing my fingers that it happens! =) =) =)
Alex from The Black Tide was so fun to hang with... Chelsea spent the entire time playing with his hair, which is freakin awesome. lol. Super nice kid! (not to mention way talented...)
Then we got to talk to Jason... the greatest "roadie" ( I guess thats maybe what you'd call him idk, I don't want to insult him) He's worked with A7X since the beginnig, and is close friends with the guys (He's the one that was on tattoo stories with them) I got pics of his tatts which are amazing. He was soooooooooooooooo sweet! We got pics with him, and talked, and after a bit he was like I gotta get back to work and went to walk away, he took about 2 steps and turned around and was like oh I didn't get your names... I was like awwwwwwww how cool is that, he's nice enough to ask our names! =) ( I asked him about Z's eye later on, and he said he didn't know...)
FINALLY, M. Shadows came out... holy fuck. He was amazing. Kari had him draw on her arm and he was like " I don't know what to draw! Zacky's the artist..." So he ended up doing a "self portrait" a stick figure with a mohawk lol. We all got our pic with him, I missed out on having him sign my cd booklet (i'm dumb sometimes) and Bobby was like "Can I get a pic" and Shads was like sure, and Bobby said but we gotta take off our hats..." and took his off, and Shads says "NICE DO BRO!" {Bobby has a mohawk} One of the coolest pics I got... I asked Shads how Zacky got the black eye, and he gave me this smirky grin and said it's make up. I was like no way, and he was like yeah it is look at the pictures, sometimes it the other eye, Thor just smiled and nodded... Oh yeah and Chelsea punched M. Shadows...
Then Johnny Christ came out, he was cool... I stood in the street and he was up on the sidewalk, thats why he looks taller than me in the pic... I have no idea what he drew on Kari, I don't think he knows either lol.
And then Syn came out. Thor forwarned us that Syn doesn't like it when people crowd around him, so we lined up with our toes on the curb. He came out with a bottle of miller lite in one hand and cig in the other, so i wanted him to sign my cd booklet, but he didn't have a sharpie, I did, well one of us did, and its mine now...*shrugs* ANYWAY, it was great, cause Syn had it in his hand, but I had to take the cap off, and then put it on the end of the marker, I was like "Team work" he smiled and was like "yeah!" then I got my pic with him... That dude has got a HUGE head... His drawing on Kari was very......... interesting lol. When he came back passed us in the line Chels and Kari gave him hi fives so I put up my hand and he skipped me and gave Bobby one. Then came back and was like "Sorry for leaving ya hangin" Lol. And yes even though I still want to kick Syn, I was nice to him and he was a way cool guy... much cooler than I thought he would be...
Thor was so freakin cool.... We all gave him a hug, and I thanked him for taking such good care of the guys...
Zacky was apparently sleeping, and Thor said that The Rev was either sleeping or "Out of his mind"
We did get to wave hi to The Rev when he got on the bus, I think Chelsea and Kari yelled "We love you Jimmy" and he smiled and waved...
All in all it was a totally amazing day.... and I had a blast... I can't wait to go to another Avenged show, and another show with Kari! What a great new concert buddy!

Yeah, so I've just realized that it's been a couple days past one month, since the last time I drank. I guess passing out head first into the side of a bath tub will do that to a person....
Shit now I sound like a freaking alcoholic, which is totally not the case, you all know that. Well at least you had better know that. I've just never been much of drinker... and this isn't the first time I've quit.
Now some say that I'm trying to be a poser and be straight edge. That is far from the truth. Never once have I claimed to be straight edge, and I admire the fuck out of the people that are... Then there are those that would like me to be straight edge, and I can truely say that all though I currently do not drink, do drugs or participate in promiscuous sex, I will be honest and say that some of those things could still happen. More the first two than the last I'm sure, lol.
I have determined what my downfall is, my weakness, the one thing I just couldn't say no to.
Hot guys.
That is the temptation to which my wall of sobriety fell to last time. I can pin it on one guy. One of the hottest..... and let me just say in my defense, I don't think many people could say no to him. Or maybe it's just me, because I've worshiped him for soooooooo fucking long. Too long. ahhhhhhh but I digress.
So my one exception to my not drinking is band involved. IF I get so lucky as to be able to have a drink or two with band boys, then I will. You all know my love of dirty rocker boys. Although I will say that they wouldn't even have to be that dirty....
Until then I will be designated driver. I'd rather know that my friends and loved ones are taken care of and safe.
It's all good.
and ps I'm still fucken heart sick that 18V broke up. damn it. just had to get that in there...

Ahhhh so instead of posting a couple blogs, I'm just gonna ramble one big one off here...
So my bday being the big "Golden Birthday" I decided to celebrate big, too big for one day... sooooo
Wednesday, I treated myself to a little road trip to MN to see Cinder Road... You may think I'm crazy, but yes, the total of a 7ish hours of driving to see these guys do five acoustic songs, was totally worth it to me... =)
Friday, the big day, I was treated to shopping and dinner with one of my best freinds Shannon, and then was surprised with a cake and balloons (which are a must on any bday) but it gets better. The cake had a pic of me and ZACKY VENGEANCE on it! YAY 4 me! (and a big hug and kiss thank you to Chels and Betty).
Then we all went out. (here is where the shoulda known better part comes in)... It was all goin great until I decided to mention at quarter after one to mention that I hardly had a buzz.... game over. I think I have a mild concussion from passing out in the bathroom and hitting my head... Two days later I'm still feeling ill, and I do apologize once again to Shannon for puking in/on her car...
I did however find the most wonderful cure for being hideously hung over. A CINDER ROAD show!!
Me, Jessica, Shannon, Luke and Chels caught the guys at Taste of Madison today.
Chels and I delivered our gift to the guys, a bottle of Jaeger and five badger shot glasses... then we went off wandering and tried to sell some CDs... I sold a whopping 3 lol. But I was told a ton of times that I am a great salesman... and got to meet some great fellow Cinder Road fans. :)
The guys absolutly tore the place up. I got some great shots, took prolly about 300 pics... I also got a pic that I had taken of Nat signed by him.... and a really great pic with him...
I had a ton of fun, and hugs and kisses to all of my friends that partied with me... beware, pics will be posted soon! <3

Just how freakin lucky am I? I mean really... I am so damn lucky....
I got to see one of my favorite bands tonight. Cinder Road. (Check them out, as the asst.state leader for WI of their street team I order you too. Lol! )
They were coming to Madison to do a radio interview/promo for the new album,- Superhuman-coming out SOON,and added on a show at the last minute.
The show was at the Loft, which I found out is a teen center... ( I felt so so so so so so old!)
The lineup was going to be interesting to say the least... Cinder Road is "A little lighter" to quote Mike than what the other bands were. The crowd was ok, prolly 75 kids or so.
Of course I did the faux paux and wore my Cinder Road t-shirt to the show, and as we were walking down the block, I saw their bus, and immediatly crossed my arms, covering my shirt, because I am just a fucking chicken like that.
So we (me, Luke and Chels) went in... saw their gear lined up on along the wall... then I saw Chris. Did I run over and say HI! ? Hell no. I am such a wuss! I kept glancing at him... a bit later Mike was out too. Didn't say Hi to him either... see where this is leading? The guys were roaming around and soon I saw Mac. Nope didn't talk to him. Then Mike came back out, and by this time I had finally uncrossed my arms, and he saw my shirt. He pointed at me and smiled. I smiled and pointed back. (I had no idea what to do lol) and then I procceded to start shaking like a damn leaf in hurricane. I am a DORK!
So Luke went outside between bands to smoke. I happened to turn around just as he was walking back in, and there he was TALKING TO MIKE, AND NAT! I think my damn heart stopped. {Luke had apparently told them I was dying to see them, I'm not sure what all was said, and I am afraid to know} The guys walked straight over to me, and Mike greeted me like an old friend "Hey, how are ya doing? It's good to see you again!" as he hugged me. He is sooooooooooooooooooooo nice! Keep in mind the only time I've ever talked to him was in March at the Annex, and I said was 'good show' and 'sign my cd'. lol. I know he didn't really remember me, but it was sweet just the same, and hell -I got a hug. =) So we talked about them being on Wjjo, and how great they were, and how we all felt totally out of place. Mac came over too, and the three of them signed my shirt. and I got pics with Mike and Nat. Everyone walked away leaving me with Nat. Ummmm yeah, shyness came back, -can you say akward?
They had some technical issues while trying to set up the mics, and I think that is why they had such a short set. They did a song that I have no idea what the name of it was. Stand maybe? I apologize for not knowing. Chris sang Rebel Yell, and they did Shoulda and Get in Get out (with we will rock you in the middle) I thought they were great. I got some fantastic pics, and video, (which i will put up as soon as I know if I can post them so no one theives them- you know how I am about my photos lol)
Chelsea decided she liked them, and so we went to the merch table, she got a shirt and a cd, and we talked to Mike for a bit. He is so damn nice!!! We talked about the release party being canceled, opening for Candlebox, and how I will have to go to Illinois to see them on that tour. I don't even remember what else was said. Then Chelsea hunted down the rest of the guys for pics and to sign her cd. So I got my pic with Chris and Mac too. YAY!
Over all it was a freaking blast! I adore these guys even more now...
I know they made at least 2 more fans, Chelsea and Luke. After we got back to the Dells Luke said "Let me know when they're playing again, I'll definatly go" I did see some other kids talking to Mike, hopefully they'll spread the word to the younger people and the fans will be more diverse. =)
YAY for Cinder Road!!

Ok so let me just say that I pity everyone of you that had a chance to join me at the Papa Roach, Hinder show tonight, and you didn't go...
The show was fuckin fantastic. Operation was the name of the opening band, I think I will have to check them out on myspace... got to meet them.
Papa Roach was intense! Coby is such an awesome front man. He even jumped down into the crowd and was running all over the place. I think I could watch them for hours on end. They of course sang my favorite songs, Forever *dedicated to all the Little Dirty Girls ;) and Reckless. I almost caught a drumstick but some assface ripped it out of my hands, he got a nice elbow to the spine.
Hinder was alot better than I expected, and they put on a great show. They played a song that they are working on and are definatly going with the power balledness like Lips of an Angel. It was very cool cause they were filming for a DVD... I think I might have to buy it...
Over all it was good, with the exception of the stupid old hags that i almost got in a fight with. Drunken white trash whores with bad hair. I have some nasty scratches, hope I don't catch anything!
Paul was a lifesaver, litterally... lol. I have no idea who he was but I thank god that he was standing by us! Super cool guy. sweet hat too ;)
THEN..... while Hinder was playing I look over and low and behold there sits MR. JACOBY SHADDIX.... ahhhhhh yes, I and Chels got to meet my Coby. *SIGH*
THEN... we go out side after the show to hang by the buses, and are told that we missed Coby and P Roach... but we stay anyway, and some random guy walking bye gives us a pass. So Katie and Chels wander over and talk to the manager for Operation, but get no where.... a bit later we moved over to sit by the other busses... and the pass guy comes back. Says something about why we're still sitting there and not inside... SO another guy gives us a pass and they lead us in the back doors of the venue, walking right past Austin from Hinder as we go in....
We check out the back stage area, lie that Chels is 21, and boom. WE ARE IN THE PARTY. LMFAO! I have never felt so out of place. It didn't last long, they caught on pretty quick that my 15 yr old cousin is NOT 21... but fuck. who cares, how many fans have been in that position? Exzackly.
What a fucking night!!!! =)
Next show, I need body guards... and the guts to make it look like I belong at the aftershow party LOL!

Let me just start this off by saying I feel sorry for all of you that weren't at The Battle of the Bands last night.
It was such a fantastic show, ALL the bands were fucking fantastic!!! I really enjoyed all the shows...
There was such a great variety of bands, from the punk of Number 9 Hard, the soul rap of Minds Eye Rhyme, the heavy Scapegoat, the kick ass rock of Mankinds Lesson, Blank Image, A Modern Love Story, and of course Grit.
I have to thank the guys from Grit, Adam and Trevor, they were super helpfull and encouraging, I look forward to seeing them again. Not to mention the fact that they hooked us up with an AMAZING sound guy, Brad, all the bands thought he was phenomenal...
I still can not believe how smooth everything went. We learned alot **cough not to do t-shirts cough** from this BOTB, and now the next one will be even better!
Bye the way if you are reading this and are interested in a t-shirt... let me know. LOL!
Pictures should be up soon... I took a TON!

FUCKIN HELL YEAH!!!!
Thats what I have to say about tonight!!!!
Ughh Man what a great show!
The Confession- LOVED THEM!!! Great show, great music, Taylor, lead singer totally gave me flash backs of James Hart the first time I saw 18V.... and it was even cooler how everyone commented my 18V t-shirt, like how "fucking pissed" Taylor was when he found out they broke up... but he had just talked to James a couple days ago... told me a secret... I told them they were my replacement band for 18V... :)
Escape The Fate- HOLY HELL!!! They blew me away!!! And lead singer dude (?Ronnie?) jumping into the crowd! Awesome! lol! Just glad he got his damn shoe back boy was he pissed!!! This is what I read today when I opened that damn bulletin from Mick Deth... :
After several years of touring and quite a few album releases we have decided that it is time to go our seperate ways. We have been a band for a very long time and feel good about everything we were able to accomplish. At this point in our lives and our careers we feel its time to move on to something fresh and new. Wether it be music, touring or just being at home to live and enjoy life. We would like to thank all of our fans, friends and families for all of the great support over the years. We would also like to thank all of the bands we have shared the stage with and everyone who has ever worked with the band, opened a door or reached out a hand. We will be playing our final two shows in April. One in San Diego and one in Orange County. Come rock with us one more time.

Thats right, one of my most favorite bands in the entire world won't be any more... so fuck you all if I get emo, keep your fucked up, rude ass comments to your self. or what ever...
This has never happened to me before... I would have killed for this band.
That being said, here is my eulogy:
Eighteen Visions.
I know I haven't been a fan for as long as some people, I wish I had had that luxury. No, it was not quiet a year ago when I saw you for the first time. It seems like much longer ago than that. May 9th 2006, at The Rave in Milwaukee. You were opening for Avenged Sevenfold.
I fell head-over-heals for your music, your stage show, just your general presentation. You knew how to capture the attention of a crowd of people, most of which had never heard of you before.
I can remember turning to Hoochie, and saying "These guys are good! Not to mention the lead singer is hot!"
Later I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. James Hart. Even though all I wanted to do was lick the sexy tattoo on his neck, I behaved, and ended up having a short conversation with him. He was very nice, and autographed my brand new copy of Obsession for me.
I misssed the opportunity to see Eighteen Visions play Warped in Chicago, I am kicking myself for that... There were other various shows that I could have gone to but didn't due to the fact that I'd have to drive 4-6 hours.
Had I known the end was near, I wouldn't have batted an eye at the length of the drive.
Then August 25th, 2006 they played the Riverside Ballroom in Green Bay. Just days before my 30th birthday, my cousin Chelsea took me to the show as my gift. It was her first concert.
It was one of the best nights of my life. We were front row, screaming every lyric along with James.... mimicking his moves from the video for Victim. He even held the mic out in front of us....
We got to meet the enitre band that night,
James was so sweet complimenting Chelsea on the 18V t-shirt I made for her, he said he noticed it from up on the stage. She got a hug from Trevor, and kissed Mick on the cheek.
I had them autograph a sign I'd made for my friend Cristina, that couldn't be at the show, because she lives in Peru. When I told James she was gonna kill me cause I got to meet them, he looked me in the eye and said "It's too bad you gotta die." I kept my eyes locked with his and said "Thats ok, I got to meet you guys." Like I said, one of the best nights of my life.
I wish I could see you guys, just one last time. I'm deeply saddened that the last shows will be in CA, If it were remotely possible I would be there. But I know in reality, that I will have to be at peace with the fact that I was lucky enough to see them live twice, and to meet them. I know there are fans out there that will never get that opportunity.
Even though it is selfish of me, I wish this wasn't happening, that I would wake up from this nightmare, and everything would be fine.
To:
James Hart, Mick Deth, Trevor Darkbaby, Heavy K, and K Flo:
I wish you all the best. Maybe we'll meet again....
RIP Eighteen Visions, you will be missed.
