Deleted Scenes - Fake IDs from Kurt Bailey on Vimeo.

"Brave and Ferocious... 8.0" -Pitchfork

"[Deleted Scenes] has hit its stride in a major way on debut album "Birdseed Shirt." It's an album of smart, slippery and varied indie rock songs, but it never feels like the band is forcing things just for the sake of being different. Some songs have the nervous energy of early Talking Heads, while others succeed thanks to intricate subtleties that show an obsessive attention to detail. Don't get too attached to any of those sounds, though. Scheuerman has no interest in doing the same thing twice." -Dave Malitz, Washington Post

"Birdseed Shirt, the debut LP from Deleted Scenes, is a creative and emotional album of soaring, hook-laden highs and more tempered lows, with each mood skillfully executed and full of rich imagery and metaphors. Taking the odd title from a Jonathan Safran Foer novel, the duo from Brooklyn and Washington, DC make playfully unpredictable songs that veer in unexpected directions while remaining completely infectious." -NPR.org "Not since the days of Fugazi and Discord Records has a D.C. band made such a stir on the national music circuit." -Washington Post Express

"Deleted Scenes' recent album, Birdseed Shirt, often sounds as if it's been gently glazed with cold medication, but that doesn't mean it's creatively sluggish. All that fine-tuned, morose reverb and space opens up on a band that has enough subtle craft to explore everything from its mopey side ("Get Your Shit Together For The Holidays") to psych-rock aggression ("Mortal Sin")." --The Onion

JASON ISBELL & 400 UNIT PLAY YBOR CITY

Singer-Songwriter and Band Return to Crowbar....

WHAT: Jason Isbell & 400 Unit, Red Cortez
WHEN: Wednesday, May 6, 8 p.m.
WHERE: Crowbar, Ybor City
HOW MUCH: $12 advance/$14 day of show

(TAMPA, FL) - Critically acclaimed songwriter-guitarist Jason Isbell and his
backing band 400 Unit are headed back to Ybor City for another show at
live-music hotbed Crowbar on May 6.

Isbell, who achieved notoriety as a member of iconic alternative Southern rock
outfit Drive-By Truckers before striking out as a solo artist, has long been a
favorite with Tampa Bay fans of all stripes, from all-ages punk audiences to
old-school country & western aficionados. His soulful, unadorned twang-rock
strikes chords across the musical spectrum; Isbell's 2007 solo debut Sirens of the Ditch was highly praised, and the brand-new eponymously titled follow-up is poised to follow in its predecessor's esteemed wake.

On his last Tampa stop in 2008, Isbell took the time to chat and play a few
acoustic tunes on WMNF 88.5 FM DJ Scott Imrich's Saturday Asylum show before he and 400 Unit turned in a scorching Crowbar performance as part of homegrown music-and-culture magazine REAX's weekend-long second-anniversary party. Now, preferred show dealer THX MGMT brings the group back for another beery round at the same top-notch venue.

Tour support for the concert comes in the form of evocative California rock
combo Red Cortez.

Crowbar is located at 1812 N. 17th St. in Ybor City. This show is 18 & up
only, please.....
