We're driving John McEuen back after the show in our van. This has happened more than once.

             

This was a sort of bittersweet day. Missed the entire NFL gameday whilst traveling, including the BEARS stomping the Lions. But the show with the Nitty Gritty Dirtband was great. Here are some pics from the show as well as some video from the Nitty Gritty soundcheck.


          

Can't explain how good it feels to be out traveling and playing a solid string of shows again. The band is sounding really wonderful. The van is in good shape too after a whole bunch of maintenance. We just stopped at a gas station and put a new side view mirror in, which required chipping away all the glass from the old one. This was a difficult task, which Phill took on but not without cutting his banjo-playingthumb pretty badly. Nothing a little superglue can't heal up. This nature photo was taken at the Ozarks lodge. How great is it that work allows us to come to places like this?

Its been a long while since the days of the King Wilkie business card. I used to hand them out, everywhere. I believe they used to read something like "King Wilkie: King Sized Bluegrass!"Well, we're thinking of re-creating the age-old marketing/promotional device, thanks in large part to this business card guru.
