Hey
Just a personal thanks to everyone that has helped me out with the series so far and i hope that we can make the King Of Dirt a better comp and really help to progress the future of the sport.
Well thanks to the english weather it was another last minute decision to make the comp go ahead, and what a comp it turned out to be.
I must first of all say a massive thanks to all the Locals . Digs, Gareth , Rob , Jimmy and all the others that spend hours of there free time digging the most incredible trails i have ever seen.
At 11 o'clock the comp was possibly going to be cancelled by 12 the jumps were riding, once again just proves the dedication that trails riders have to make another days riding possible
As per normal the people signed up and started to practise .
The Big Companies DMR , SPANK , IDENTITI helped out with the Prize money and Prizes but we have recently picked up GetSpiked clothing and also RELENTLESS energy drinks were available to help out with the days proceedings.
The Open category started on the Jam line with riders sending mid set Whips and Flips and managing to trick every single one of the 5 jump set.
A Big shout has to go to Ben Lyon, who had to drop out half way after popping his shoulder out of place, he was riding really well but if it wasn't for his impressive array of tricks from the start it may not have helped to push the riding to the level it achieved on the day .
Phil Auckland who is on a flow deal with IDENTITI bikes came first putting together some really impressive runs and some very dialled tricks. The winner of the first round Ryan Nangle was on show again with a very impressive twist to twist run which gave him the second place. Third Place went to Clinton from "The-Track" who's run was very impressive by the way he pulled difficult tricks and a lot of consistency.
The Pro's then Picked up there bikes and started to wow the crowd with there impressive tricks and incredible bike control. The Pro riders also started on the jam line, which for anyone that hasn't seen Wisley trails are fascinating display of digging abilities with a level of perfection that is seen only at the worlds most renown trails.
Being able to take a mountain bike through a set of dirt jumps that perfect and performing tricks such as "Table-top Flip" and ."Tailwhips" consistently proves that the sport is progressing at a astonishing rate. Sam Reynolds was back to keep his title as the Wisley King of Dirt.
Blake Samson who has improved so much since last year started pulling tricks like mid-set 360 x-ups and stretched indian air's along with Sam Reynolds amazing consistency and dialled tricks left us puzzled over the first place with Mike Smith also showing another professional display which left him in 3rd place going into to the Pro-line.
The Trails on the Pro line are outstanding, Seeing Sam Reynolds trying a "double tailwhip" on the last jump is something that will stay in my mind for along time to come. The judges were left puzzles and it was a really tuff decision to make .
But after a lot of conferring we decided that Sam Piped the first place with his consistency and his dialled skills made him The King of Dirt for a second time.
DMR Bikes Supplied a Drone Frame for 1st place and a set of Ex-type cranks for second Place and SPANK Supplied a set of Rims , Get Spiked Clothing Also supplied a selection of clothing for each prize winner in the open category.
Thanks to everyone that turned up, a special thanks to Rob Canty for Getting Relentless involved .
Nass is the Next round and is a Pro Only round.
