We have been a bit lazy updating our blogs over the past few months but a lot has happened in the interim. Not mention we all took a month off just to get back in touch with our families in Cebu. The holiday season is fast approaching as well as the release of our first official single of our new "album". I say album with quotes because we're coming up with a slightly novel approach to marketing the dozen or so songs we recorded for it. All I can currently say about it is that I am really f*ng stoked. As you can see no lack of enthusiasm on my part, or for that matter, on the part of the Sonic Boom folks who have got some really sick stuff lined up for us in 2010. I also know, and am extremely thankful, that you have all stuck with us throughout this whole process. It's been a barrel of downs and a teaspoonful of ups but that teaspoonful has been enough to give birth to what I think are some really awesome songs that underline what we strive for as a band. I'd also like to take these few kilobytes of internet garble to announce the FPTelly. What is it you ask? Why! It's Faspitch on the Telly, on Youtube. Lol. After our Davao trip Russell went rummaging through his old laptop (which is now a shiny new one thanks to Santy Claus) and found a bunch of footagez from recording at Kerplunk. We've taken this footage and put it up for all your viewing glory. This just goes to show that Faspitch isn't all about shenanigans. We actually DO STUFFZZ!!! First Episode is up and Russell is editing clips of more studio time and from our trip to Davao so stay tuned for that. Faspitch in the Studio 1

Hi Guys,
It really has been awhile since I've posted an update on here. So.... where do I get started?? I guess I'd like to start off by posing a question to all of you: Chris Allen or Adam Lambert? Srsly, I'm going for Chris Allen, and I know Jamie Foxx agrees with me. But I'm sure by the time you guys read this the American Idol finals will be done and dusted and a new star will be born. In the meantime I've been pondering the rebirth of some of my own friends who are about to become stars in their own right. The A-mazing AmbassadorS!
I'm so stoked for their new album. It's coming out soon, and we are (very sadly) excluded from the album launch (because it's going to be in Cebu). Nonetheless, I've got high hopes for all the songs and for each of the "Amba-boys". They have worked so hard for this album and have sacrificed so much amongst themselves just to get to this point, and of the people I've grown up with and listened to in the music scene in Cebu I would have to say The Ambassadors really deserve all the success and future cool shit that's bound to come. And lately we've all been looking up to The Ambassadors as we are about to start down the same path they have just traveled (recording and promoting their new album). They are consistently the best live band we have ever played with and they can only get better.
The last two gigs we have played with The Ambassadors were quite memorable. The first one being The Red Horse Muziklaban Kick Off in Ortigas, that one mainly sticks in the memory because I got pulled over for U-turning in a No U-Turn area. So I roll down my window and say "Sorry sir, I didn't know this was a no U-turn zone" and he says to me "Banda ba kayo? Dba Paspits kayo". I don't remember being so happily shocked and let down at the same time, if only because I was expecting to have my licensed confiscated and instead wound up having the cop say "Ok lang sir, have a good evening". Shtrange. The last Sonic Boom gig we played (@ 121 Bar in Makati) was really great because we not only got to roll with our Amba-Boys we also got some much needed fresh air after being holed up in the studio and at OJ's house for pre-recording rehearsals. I also got to talk to Tim of Macbeth (handles Macbeth bands for all of Asia). He was there to watch Typecast and The Ambassadors (newly signed to Macbeth) and we got to talking about Saosin who he is very good friends with.
This week, we moved closer to our recording readiness, by cleaning up 2 more of our new songs and tweaking 2 others. We've been working on a song called "Damage Done" which is more of an experiment in terms of how it will be recorded, but is definitely one of our favorite songs on the album. We are already 90% certain on the studio and are just waiting for the final announcement and meeting with Sonic Shape Staff. Also this week, we had Russell move out of the Faspitch Cave and into the new Manaloto Towers which is closer to his new school (and has a helipad). School starts for him Wednesday (May 20) and we know he's going to do great. Best of luck Russ, break a leg, but don't break your new sofa. hehe

Harro folks,
Summer is fast approaching and the roof, the roof, the roof is on fire. It's truly fahkin hot. I can't continue sleeping with my shirt on. And my pants on.
How are you all doing? Me and the boys are trying to finish up the last two songs on the album and are actively processing our thoughts with intermittent quantum lapse mono-metering.
I also just realized I'd signed up for a twitter account ages ago and hadn't updated. I just did. If you find yourself in the same situation try and find me on twitter at twitter.com/smolika. Hi twitter. Hi peoplez on twitter. :)
Love u long time _ Henry

Current mood: cheerful
Hi Guys,
tomorrow is the day God gave us his only son, to save us from all our stupidities. From chain smoking, cussing, smelly armpits, drunk driving, poison ivy, world wars, mass murder, internet porn, subprime lending, terrorists, the dotcom bubble, the housing bubble, masturbation, second hand smoke, crystal meth, marijuana-jane, server lag, teabagging, keyloggers, blueballs, dandruff, and all such man made sinful instruments of atrocitation (which is an atrocity inflicted upon humans by machines).
However, in celebration of our God given right to be humans, we continue to defy Jesus and his salvation by being dumbasses and killing ourselves and our O-zone layer and letting the Japanese continue to kill whales (cue, "Ze Day Ze Earth Ztood Zteel"). And in the meantime Faspitch is over here trying, successfully I might add, to finish their second album (when they are not playing the Blessed Game of Sacramentation known as World of Warcraft which was passed down to Blizzard Entertainment by Gabriel himself). Don't be fooled by us, despite having disappointed mothers nationwide, and wiped front to back countless times in Heroics, Faspitch is comprised of 5 god fearing, church going (on occasion), gift giving, lovey dovey individuals. And we'd all really like to wish you a very Merry Christmas, not just by saying this, but by uploading an incredibly sophisticated piece of Computer Technology created by NASA and encrypted in MP3 format that allows you to listen to one of our new songs in any sector/quadrant of our green earth. This is a song called Follow: We recorded it at Kerplunk Studios for NOKIA IAC and will be one of the songs on our new album coming out very soon in 2009.
We'd like to thank you all for being so patient and supportive throughout the whole year, and not just to the fans for being there but also to the bands and very special individuals who have motivated us and given us inspiration through some of the darkest moments of this year. Thank you to Sonic Boom in it's entirety from the crew to all the bands that performed with us. Thank you also to our families, who we are spending Christmas with, for being so loving and supportive, and thank you to NOKIA and to Mitch So in particular for your unswerving belief in Faspitch and the music we make.
Thank you all so much for making this year a good year for Faspitch. We won Best Live Act at the Junksounds 2008 and Nokia IAC Breakthrough Artist at the NU107 Rock Awards 2008. We showed Asia what Philippine bands are all about at the Music Matters Nokia IAC Music Showcase in Hong Kong and again in Singapore at the BayBeats 2008. We owe all this to you and we hope the song we uploaded will give you a tiny hint of more good things to come from Faspitch in 2009. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all! Keep rockin'! :)
Henry

Current mood: happy
Hi guys, This week has certainly been a huge flurry, we've been at OJ's house for practically 4 days straight trying to get some songs finished for pre-production. A few days before that though we were completely shocked (in a super nice way) at the NU107 Rock Awards. We were invited to the event and had the privilege of introducing Urbandub to the audience before their live performance. We got to rub shoulders with some of the most prestigious of personalities, musicians and actors alike. We watched the awards show with great excitement as we thought Urbandub would take a clean sweet of the awards (alas this was not to be, but they did win an award) but mainly because this was our first time ever to be at the Rock Awards. The awards were starting to wind down, and I was looking intently at my glass of Jager wishing it were a beer instead when I heard "Faspitch" being called by the host, and Ralf came up to me and said to get up on stage cos we had won an award... I was completely dumbfounded and thought Ralf was playing a joke on me. But then I heard the host call "Faspitch" again and I saw Mitch of Nokia standing up on stage that's when I decided to run up. Both my hands shook while I received the award, I have also have no recollection of what I said on stage that's how much of a blurry surprise it was. I do know though that I am extremely grateful to each and everyone of you that have made it possible: To all the fans for your patience and support, to our Sonic Boom family for putting up with us through the best and worst of times, to our real families in Cebu for loving us even though we went against the grain, to NU107 for playing our songs and supporting local music, and of course thank you so much to Nokia for believing in our music and awarding us with the first ever award of our musical careers and for giving us the opportunity to reach out to more places in Asia! This award is for all of you! Keep rocking! Henry For a complete list of winners that night check out: NU107 Rock Awards 2008

Current mood: accomplished
It's been ages since I've done anything of note on Myspace (aside from the occasional comment, add, and invite). I'm trying to get exalted with Thunder Bluff, and I must say I've had a productive evening. We just got back from doing some groceries, bought some cleaning stuffs for the bathroom. Trevor cooked some Teriyaki (yum), whilst I decided to multitask (which means I sat on the crown and cleaned the bathroom at the same time, and then took a shower). We cleaned the upstairs a little, put the bench press back together and took all the Sonic boom shirts downstairs (so the Ambassadors have more room to sleep up there). It's been a long and lazy weekend, what with the holiday's and all. Russel's in Baguio to pay final respects to a departed family member (our condolences Rusty). Therefore, the house has been extremely quiet. Quiet is what we aim for (hah! and you thought we liked loud music) and we made the most of it by raiding some 25-man's and fixing up 2 new songs. We'll probably get both done when we're down at OJ's house this Tuesday. I'd like to congratulate my parents on their 25th wedding anniversary, I love you guys and miss you, I'm just disappointed I can't be there this Wednesday as we have a gig, and we're playing MYX Mo the day after. I'll make it up to you though. Till next write. Take good care. Henry

FALLING - Faspitch (Unreleased)
So you had to go So you had to let go
Leave me standing closer to the edge
Am I falling again
There's nothing that's better in this life than you and me walking home, These memories remind me of places that you and me used to go,
There's nothing like this, there's nothing like this. I'd like to know
Am I falling again, But will it take a second try to make it last Am I falling again, Now how do you suppose that we should make this last.
This love, ain't conceptual Throw these feelings out the door Listen to what I say, listen to what I say
There's nothing that's better in this life than you and me walking home, These memories remind me of places that you and me used to go, There's nothing like this, there's nothing like this. I'd like to know Am I falling again, But will it take a second try to make it lastAm I falling again, Give more than you ask for, this lifetime's ours rest assuredAm I still falling?

Hi guys,
I am writing to you from the Summer Tavern Hostel in Singapore. We're really stoked right now, we're gonna be heading off to soundcheck in a few minutes and our set at Baybeats is later at 8.30pm at the Nokia Powerhouse stage. We arrived last night at around 8pm dropped all our stuff off at the hostel and then went straight to Esplanade to catch our fellow rockers Typecast. Amazing set from them again, the crowd listened intently to their soaring melodies. And there was a host of Filipinos in the crowd as well which will really boost us later.
Can't wait to play in front of the Singapore audience and the city skylights (which are breathtaking). It's looking like a really varied crowd, with kids from Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore, and with bands from all over Asia. We took in some of the city scenery with a little walk this afternoon but are really looking forward to going to the zoo tomorrow, and then I'll probably try and hit up the electronics expo with Melvin from Typecast. Wish us luck later guys. We'll definitely be posting pics as soon as they are ready.

Current mood: anxious
Two words: A Mazing! That was what me and the whole band felt after Sonic Boom's Second Anniversary gig. The fans, the music, bands, music, the fans, A-friggin-mazing...
That night has to go down as the best gig Faspitch has ever had. And we owe it all to the vibe we got from all the folks that sung our songs, and to all the girls in the front row, in the black dresses (and the one dude in the black dress as well). Special recognition goes out to all the bands that played that night and made the atmosphere what it was for the audience, and massive props to the audience for the support they have shown for the past two years, and for the accumulated sweat and screams they let all out on that night, you guys made our nights!
But of course, Happy Happy Birthday to all the deserving people at Sonic Boom: To Phat Boy Lim and his staff, the massive music machine that you started is only gonna get better and bigger (because of all your hard work), and the music scene and all the bands and people in it are better for it these past two years. Keep up the good work, and may you guys have many more birthdays to come.
A lot of stuff happened on the two weeks leading up to the anniversary as well. Many of you might not know that we took a short break in Cebu, a much needed one. After four months of living in one place with three other guys a little burnout factor started to creep in. A few misplaced words, some harsh stares, the beginnings of hurt feelings. Cebu gave us a breather we badly needed.
On way down to Cebu however, we spread some Sonic Boom loving in Bohol with the boys of Typecast. It was the Sandugo Festival so the Boholanos were in party mood and I'd like to think they were really happy to have had us play down there, it was nice getting to see another part of the musical landscape in the Philippines. The hunger for music was just as apparent in Bohol as I've seen it in other parts of the Philippines, maybe even more, considering that many bands don't get to go there. They absorbed all our songs eagerly and sat in awe as Typecast played, another successful Sonic Boom event (thanks to Kikoy for setting the whole thing up) that I hope eventually leads to more gigs further south. My only regret is that we didn't get to do that river cruise... and the other only regret is that I didn't get to see the Tarsier. O_O
We did do two gigs in Cebu during the interim and those would have gone down as the two best gigs Faspitch has ever had (were it not for the Sonic Boom Anniversary hehe). We badly missed all of our Cebuano fans and it was clear they missed us just as much... Can't wait to get back and play for them again, It's looking like our next gig in Cebu isn't until Sinulog though.
For now, it's back in Manila time for us Faspitch boys, and this signals alot of incoming work for the second album. We can't wait to start working on all the new songs with OJ but at the same time we have a couple things to overcome first before things are plain sailing.
1. We're going to The Baybeats Festival this Friday with Typecast, and we're gonna be rocking it out with some of the best bands from all over Asia, now this is a hurdle I wouldn't mind overcoming on a more regular basis. :) (The zoo is nize az wellz)
2. (and much more difficult) We have to move house, we are getting kicked out at the end of September as our place now is being sold, have to go look for another place to stay. boo dat :(
Once we get settled down in a new place we'll finally have the time to arrange all the music we've made over the past few months. And after the reception we got at the Sonic Boom Anniversary our hunger to get more new songs out and this 2nd album finished has increased threefold. Ah wellz, I have to go eat some Linner (lunch and dinner taken all at once). See you guys when we get back from Singapore. For the Horde!!

It's 5am and strangely we're all awake. Guess it's not so strange after all, considering we've just come from two gigs, one at Carbon Bar, and the other at Saguijo. I just got out of the shower (after having said I wasn't going to shower), put my pants on, snatch a little swish of Carolina Herrera. I take a look at my bandmates as they grab their knapsacks; it's time to go. Out the door and to the elevator, going down. We're traveling north.
You'd almost think it was a vacation. Traveling past rolling greenery and lush mountain scenery in a humongous airconditioned van with four cute girls in the front row. You arrive at your destination. It's cold as fuck, but just cool enough for you to actually enjoy a cozy high altitude snooze. You wake up to pine trees and crowing roosters instead of honking horns and smoke alarms. Take a whif of FRESH air. Get back in that very same van with those same cute girlies and head to a rooftop bar with more cute girlies and amazing bands playing. Good music envelopes your senses and you give in to the sensation of elevation and rock n' roll. "More beer please" cos' you notice that for some reason you are less inebriated after the same amount of Red Horse than you would at sea-level. You get to meet all these really nice musicians and northern-folkz, inviting you to stay longer and to visit again.
Fortunately, it wasn't just a vacation. It was SONIC BOOM Baguio and we had the dizzying pleasure of playing with Baguio's finest: Give Take Give, Second Squad, Even, and of course Hardboiled Eggz. And those four cute girls we were in the van with? Nyctinasty baby! Those girls rocked Baguio hard and we had such a great time as well. The place, the scenery, the altitude, the music, the people, and most of all the Camp Henry T. Allen(google it!). We're going back to Baguio soon huzzah!
Another highlight of our Baguio "vacation" was that we were able to play a new song. Many thanks to OJ Anonas for taking time out of his very busy schedule to play drums for us on all our gigs lately and endure the blistering mind boggle that is our song making process. We're very proud to welcome him to the Faspitch family and are looking forward to working on more of our new material with him.
Till the next. Peace out.
ps. Can't wait to play in our hometown again come July 26 and August 15. pyter
