I am watching with great interest this health care debate and I get really angry. For those who really don't know my mom divorced when I was young and remarried so technically I have two fathers. So I hear idiots like Palin talk about death panels if health care passes and I wonder what they have now? You see one of my fathers was REJECTED BY HIS INSURANCE COMPANY to be put on the kidney donar list because he is too old. Seriously isn't that sentencing him to die beacause of his age? Isn't THAT a death panel?

Last week was hard. One of the people from Corbin, Ron Weiss, was killed when his plane crashed in Santa Clarita last week. There was a memorial at Corbin and his wife, who they were married exactly one month, was there as well as his family who I've met a couple of times when they were at Corbin. I was at a loss for words when I saw Becky which as people who know me know that doesn't happen often. The memorial was well though out as those who knew him talked about his life and how he loved going to Corbin and I talked about how nice he was always to me and how fun he was to hang with. Ron you will be missed.

So my friend Tom and I were at an event at the Writers Guild yesterayd meeting among others Ray Bradbury and as we left and were in an elevator some guy looks at me dead serious and asks "are you Jose Feliciano" of course if I had half a brain I should have started singing Feliz Navidad. Oh well.

Current mood: blah
Sadly it appears, at least for the moment, Don't Forget The Lyrics is off the air. Not saying either Game Show Network or something might pick it up or Fox might show the episodes at a later date but what sucks is that since they didn't show the episode my friend does not get paid and since she does not get paid neither do I. Oh well at least it was an experience but now I still have to obtain that particular life goal to have a line on a television show or movie and not have it cut out. I guess it's time to find plan b whatever that may be.

Current mood: excited
For those who wonder what I'm doing up at this hour believe me when I say I have no idea.
Anyway what a great day yesterday watching President Obama take the oath of office. It's such a breath of fresh air to have a President the actually understands the English language and not one who butchered it like Bush did for the last 8 years.
I hope Obama succeeds in office. You know the right-wing media will attack him for everything he does unlike what they did for Bush when they gave him a free ride for the last 8 years.
Anyway day one of a new era begins today. I hope everyone is as excited as I am.

I think I've seen the next evolution of karaoke at Corbin as Steve has incorporated the game Rockband into his show. It proved quite popular. Steve said he wasn't going to use it all the time but considering how popular it was he might change his mind.

Current mood: rejuvenated
Just kinda looking back on my year it's probably the most interesting year I've had in a long while. The year started with me getting punched in the mouth at Corbin and ended and probably my most relaxed mood I've been in in quite a while. I of course had setbacks and disappointments this year like not being able to go to the Democratic Convention as a reporter and them still not showing the Don't Forget the Lyrics I was on but for the first time in a long time I'm able to focus and really think about me and how I can accomplish what I need to be happy.
Honestly though the worst thing of the year was the breakup of the former (I guess) regulars at Corbin . It's a shame but there is nothing I can do about it so I guess Tawny and I are the last ones standing like that hasn't happened before :).
Anyway I hope for those I'm not seeing tomorrow everyone has a Happy New Year and for those who I am seeing I'll say it in person.

Just a few things I'm thankful for
I'm thankful Barack Obama is going to be our President I'm thankful that Sarah Palin is continuing to show why she is not qualified to ever run for anything again I'm thankful that John McCain didn't win I'm thankful I have fantastic friends who give are there when I need them I'm thankful that, despite how meaningless it is, I do have a job considering how many others don't I'm thankful we won't have to hear Bush butchering the English language anymore I'm thankful Republicans, for the time being anyway, have been reduced to nothing after this election
I hope everyone has a Happy Thankgiving
