Hello my AWESOME friends!!!
It's been a LONG time since I sat down a wrote a blog to my friends here! So I thought it's about time I rolled up my sleeves and sent some virtual ink to all my awesome friends. I think online we all tend to get into a spot where we don't talk or communicate for real.
When I started my myspace page it was growing up into the monster it is now. I thought it was really cool that everyone can come here and we can get to know each other wherever we all live. Bringing cool people together! Over the last few years it has grown into what it is now and some people have gotten bored with it and moved over to the next big things from Facebook to Twitter.
I think it's not MySpace or Facebook or Twitter that makes it cool to communicate online. It's all about the real people here. It IS a different experience here than on facebook or twitter. But it's really al about talking to people and meeting new friends. finding out about their lives and discovering new music and other great things in our worlds.
I have been very fortunate to meet a lot of GREAT people here. I have made new friends including all kinds of people I may never meet anywhere else.
I think the coolest thing about myspace is the results of interacting here. For the past few years everywhere I travel there are fans and friends from MySpace that say hello, and that we became friends here and often this was the first place they heard my music! I was on a plane in Spain (no rhyme intended) and the flight attendant came up to me and said aren't you David Longoria? I said yes and she said "I love your music. I am a fan from MySpace". I was reminded that all over the world we can reach out and meet each other and share our music and lives together!
It's great that kids are growing up in an era that everyone has an opportunity to meet and communicate with other people everywhere. And its free. I have been able to talk with kids across the US and even South America and Europe where they tell me what they like about music and art and travel and just about everything else. I am very excited to meet new people all the time and I want to try to make more time to communicate with all of you here.
I cherish the friends I have made here so far and I am looking forward to meeting even more people and sharing my music and life with them... and you too!
I really appreciate when my friends here send a message or a nice comment. Just like you, a few words can brighten my day and inspire more music. Thank you for reading this. You should know that someone that plays the trumpet could be long-winded! We have lots of lung power. (and yes, it's true what they say about trumpet players lips). Ask any girl that's kissed one and they'll tell you after that they can't go back. ;)
