Our have new CD recorded Live at Tost in Seattle, where we have been playing weekly for over a year, is now available on itunes, amazon.com and Rhapsody as a download. It should be available as a physical disc in about 3 weeks.
Please feel free to to go to one of these sites and buy it! And while you are there, write a review of it if you feel so inclined.
Some of the music is available to listen to on the music player here on this site. I'm extremely proud of this band and hope that you enjoy it as much as we do.

Michael Shrieve’s Spellbinder: The End of My One Night Off

Comment by Shilo Urban about Michael Shrieve’s Spellbinder -at -TosT

Spellbinder is sick! Are they even touching their instruments, or do they just straight channel the creative energy of the universe? I certainly couldn’t tell this past Monday night; the insane musical talents of each band member is trumped only by the passion with which they play their respective instruments. Hearing just one of them would be an worthwhile show; but all together they transcend the sum of their parts, which was proven by the fact that Seattleites were DANCING on a MONDAY NIGHT! Michael Shrieve’s Spellbinder at Tost is a new weekly event, and now our city has no excuse to stay in on a Monday evening. So there goes my one night off; I don’t know about you but I certainly can’t catch up on my reading or wash the dog when I know such a high-quality musical experience is going on around the corner in Fremont. See you next week.

Michael Shrieve Challenges

Comment by Fred Roth about Michael Shrieve’s Spellbinder

Repost on account of my previous bad grammar.

Michael Shrieve’s Spellbinder is aggressive, relentless and passionate. I watched this ensemble send a message to every passive listener in the room. "Pay Attention." And the room did just that. That’s not all that happened at ToST. That room started moving (pause for effect) a lot!
The supporting cast of Bass, Guitar, Trumpet and Organ performed so damn well together. I especially appreciated the bright Bass tone during his solo. Above all else, Micheal’s drum performance was stirring with latin, african and american beats.
It was too damn hard to stay in my seat so I just got up moved (pausing for effect) a lot!

We finally have some music posted here. This is somewhat raw and unmixed from our weekly show at Tost Lounge in Seattle. Two pieces for now. When it's mixed, which will be soon, we'll put more up. We are going to prepare this music for a live CD.
Hope you enjoy it!

Welcome to the My Space site for my new band Spellbinder! It's an instrumental group with some of the finest musicians in Seattle, and I am very proud of this band and the musicians I have the great pleasure to play with. We have been playing every Monday, very low key, at a club in the Fremont neighborhood of Seattle called Tost. (www.tostlounge.com) We have been recording a few of the shows with the idea of putting out a live CD of these performances, and then we hope to begin to perform outside of Seattle and take this thing on the road!
Very soon, we will post music on the site so you can get an idea of what we're all about.
