To all our beautiful friends and fans:
Sorry about the little hiatus we have been on over the summer. We have been working on a bunch of new songs and trying to maintain our focus in order to make these songs turn out as awesome as possible. When we begin playing shows again (which should be October) we will definitely be featuring a lot of new material. It has been a while since we’ve been in the studio and we want to get back in ASAP so we can get these new tracks recorded and share them with you. We are hoping to record our Debut Full Length after Christmas to prepare for a spring launch. We feel there is no rush to get our first full length out, and we also want to make sure that the songs we have selected for the record are the ones that we feel the strongest about.

Another reason for this writing break taking longer than it should have been is because we have parted ways with our bassist, Liam Harasym. Liam is considered very much to be a founding member of The Imports. For those of you who know your Imports history very very well, you know that Liam, Heston & Roydin have been playing together for quite some time now. Over the last 4 years with The Imports current line up, we have all become very close as a band. Adding new members and growing musically, we have had many good times and are very grateful for the experiences we have faced together. We are truly sad to have someone leave the band, it is something we never actually thought about until it recently became an issue. The reasons behind us parting ways is simply that we have all grown within the band, we may have not grown apart musically or as friends, but as for making music our career choice, we felt this was a necessary move in order to progress. Liam has gotten a lot of joy in other ways and so have we. We respect each other very much and came to a mutual understanding over what the right decision would be. We hadn’t released any info about this because we didn’t want to take our focus away. We felt that before we made a public announcement we should first find a bassist. If you want to know more about the situation feel free to approach any of us at a show and we will be glad to speak about it.

We immediately began looking for a new bassist to continue writing for our full length and it wasn’t long before a long time friend of The Imports and fan started to jam with us. Manny Da Costa has been coming to our shows for a long time and has always been there to help us out at local shows, not only to show support but also as a true fan of our music. We are pleased to introduce Manny as The Imports new bassist. Manny has been busy working with us to write these new songs. We hope to play them for you very soon. We see this as a new beginning in a way, a change which can only be seen as positive. We have probably lost a lot of fans and gained some, but for those of you who have stuck around we truly appreciate it. Our new songs are a little different from our E.P but there is definitely something that connects it all. Can’t wait to play live again and preview some of these new songs. THANK YOU. Love,
The Imports.
