So, I’ve been telling you guys for months that there are a couple urls I would be sharing with you from what has been going on this year. Here is the first one;
THIS JUST LAUNCHED AT 6 PM PST! THEPUBLICRECORD.COM
The guys you see in this video are the main people responsible for putting together an amazing new site that everyone gets to be a part of! thepublicrecord.com This means YOU get to download the music stems from Tommy’s new record, record your ideas against it and upload it back to the site for your chance to be on the record and the possibility of performing live with him.
You may know Scott Humphrey from hits like Dragula and Superbeast as he is a long-time producer for many of Rob Zombie's records. Tommy Lee and Scott have done several projects together.
Chris Baseford; has engineered and produced many projects out of the Chop Shop with Scott. You may have heard the new John 5 record Chris recently produced and he did a ton of work on Rob Zombie’s latest record set for release very soon! Chris is also one of the engineers on this Tommy Lee project. Make sure you look at Chris’ 'Recording Tip of the Day' on the site.
Frank Gryner; many of you know as my co-producer. Frank did engineering and mixing on the last Methods of Mayhem record and has a long-time engineering and mixing relationship with Scott. Along with Chris and Scott, Frank’s been working tirelessly to be able to bring this project to you!
The site is officially live now. The Audio and Video submission process is now in effect!
I love you guys tons, but please do not submit ideas to me. It’s up to Tommy who makes it on. I cannot slot your submission in the side door for you. There are NO favors here. Talent IS how you get to be on the record and thepublicrecord.com is the only way to submit. I just help where I can behind the scenes, I can’t make anybody love your submission for you. ;) Please make sure you read the About section and FAQ to ensure you have a better chance.
What I can tell you is Tommy is looking for ORIGINALITY. So be daring and put some time into it!
Now, my favorite part; It is structured that there will be no royalty or performance fees paid out. In lieu of this, money will instead go to MusiCares Foundation on behalf of the participants.
The Music Industry is changing! I will be posting new bulletins every week when Tommy has new stems up (for the next 11 weeks) I will also keep you posted on future artists that will be on
thepublicrecord.com.
BUT who better to christen the site than Tommy, right? Gotta shake things UP when they need shaking up!!
