Okay, so I've got to rant a little bit, but something is really starting to irk me. It seems like on every site I visit and every channel I watch there is a number of hurricane relief funding advertisments. Which is all fine and dandy, I have no problem with that at all, I think it's a good thing. But here is what bothers me. The earthquake and mudslide victims. Thousands more people are dying due to those two "natural disasters" then in any of the hurricanes we've had recently. So where are there relief funds? Who is helping find those people buried under the rubble and mud? Now, I know these disasters took place in two different countries, on different parts of the earth, at different times, but what the hell diffeerence does that make?

People are still suffering over there. Bodies are still buried. And peoples lives are still getting ruined every day. These disasters didn't take place in America, so they might not have the nice insurance plans that we have, or the news shows rebuilding their houses. So what do we do about this? Nothing. All this country and this government do is sit back, and watch the news going "Oh...well boy that sucks."

And that's another thing that pisses me off. The news, I still see news stories about the hurricane. For a few days it was ALL OVER the t.v. There was hardly anything else on the news. Yes it was sad, yes it was terrible. But you know what, people died in that earthquake and in those mudslides. MORE people died in that earthquake and those mudslides, then in the hurricanes, and STILL the hurricanes get may more media attention. They want all of us, to send all of our money to America. Keep it in America. Don't help the smaller countries, we're better than they are, we're more important than they are. Bullshit. There are familes over there who have lost everything and possibly everyone. There are people over there going without food, water, and shelter. Not to mention other things we call necesseities. And there are people over there who starved to death, becasue they weren't dug out fast enough. Now...who wants to tell me that even if we had more people over there, those people still would have died. That's bullshit too. You have to know, if we had people over there helping more, or if we had sent some money to aid with the digging efforts, more of those people would be alive. More of  those mothers would still have their children, husbands have their wives. More of those families and PEOPLE would have just a little more hope. More of those people would be a little more optimistic about their futures which are frankly looking pretty bleak. Do you know how long it's going to take to rebuild all the building torn down and apart by the earthquake. Probably a lot longer than it will to rebuild most of the hurricane damage.

Do you really think, that just because they are not AMERICAN that they do not deserve as much of our help as the hurricane victims received? People claimed that Bush was racist, that the hurricane was racist, but I don't understand how the hurricane victims would see us as racist, if they knew how much more money we had put into their efforts than the bigger ones in other countries.

Seriously guys, aren't we a rich country? Don't we have MILLIONS of dollors to blow away on the War Against Terrorism? What do we have to show for that money? Employment declining? That's something to be proud of. This country needs to seriously get over itself and this over-inflated ego.
