Generation Letter is pleased to announce the addition of Kyle Van Cleave to the Generation Letter musical lineup on Bass Guitar.  Kyle will be touring with the Band this summer and plans are that he will become a full time member of Generation Letter as the Lord directs.  Kyle brings a heart for the Glory of God, a wealth of musical talent and tons of real world experience as part of the very successful band - Poverty Branch.  As members of Metro Life Church, Kyle and his wife share our passion for the expansion of Christ’s Kingdom here on earth and the proclamation of the best news of all;  Christ died for us while we were yet sinners.  Please take a moment to welcome Kyle to the Generation Letter family.

Generation Letter is saddened but joyful that Joey Phillips is leaving the Band to pursue mentoring and discipleship opportunities with the young men of Metro Life Church.  As a uniquely gifted musician and athlete, Joey has been in high demand for years to assist with musical projects as well as athletic endeavors.  Joey’s heart to see the Word of God take root in the lives of young men has prompted him to ask to be released from the Band so that he can commit his full efforts to see young men grow in character, integrity and passion for Christ.  Joey will be sorely missed not only for his musical insight and gifting, but for the wise and thoughtful way in which he brought the Word of God to bear on our efforts as a Band.  We wish Joey and his wife Lauren the best of God’s blessings for the future.

Generation Letter is grateful for all of the hard work and assistance we have received from Jake Phillips over the past year in the area of keyboard support.  Jake is a passionate and gifted young man and we are the better for having had his support during this time in the history of Generation Letter.  Jake will be finishing his collegiate education as well as intensifying his song writing efforts for Metro Life Church.  Jake will be greatly missed and his joyful enthusiasm will remain a constant blessing to us all.

Hey all,
We are so excited with how the last year has panned out and the direction God has moved us toward. We have been apart of many exciting events and oppurtunities recently and we look to continue this as we go back into the studio to follow-up are debut EP. We will start by recording 2 new songs that are meant for the full length release (expecting to have it ready in early 2010) and posting them right here on our mysapce for all of you to hear before the release! We are really excited to get the oppurtunity to record with Jonathan Kraft here in Orlando for the next 3 weeks and get these 2 songs out a.s.a.p. for your enjoyment. Thanks again for all your prayers and support. God bless!

Wow! this is truly God at work.

Our song Blood and Water has been picked up by Clear Channel's WJRR here in Orlando to be featured on their online platform "NEW".   This is truly amazing as WJRR is the official "ROCK" station of Orlando and in many ways our message of the Cross would be totally offensive to them.  Even more amazing is that the song they chose is Blood and Water, which is our song that most clearly articulates the problem of sin and the solution God provided; the priceless blood of Jesus Christ.  Please visit as often as you can, as we get credit for the number of plays of our song and that will give us credibility with other stations around the country that use the "NEW" platform. There are over 400 stations and 10,000,000 listeners in the "NEW" network so your help is critical. If we can rally around this song and let Program Directors know it is out there, it could get enough attention to get played On Air in cities across America.  Can you imagine God getting a song about Blood and Water onto the secular airwaves of America? We are most humbled by this incredible open door into the hearts and radio stations of lost and hurting people all over the country and want to do all we can to spread this great news.Once again, we are amazed at God's kindness to us!  Please visit HERE and listen to our song and then forward this onto a friend and encourage them to listen and forward it to their friends.  As insignificant as telling your friend about a song might seem, your help can make a huge difference and enhance our ability to preach the Gospel through our music. Thank you for all of your support for Generation Letter. Also Check us out also on power 88 or power88.org in Colorado Springs as they have been playing "Always Near" regularly!

In Christ,

John Ripley

Hey all,

Its been awhile since I have posted anything. We have been very busy since the GMA's, which was an amazing experience. Being able to share the stage with Mercyme, Stellar Kart, and Vicky Beeching was an experience I will never forget. We met so many great artists and fellow brithers and sisters in Christ. We were able to learn so much from all the speakers there and hopefully we can put into practice everything we heard. Since then, God has continously been blessing us beyond measure. Lifelight, which is the biggest Chrsitian festival in the U.S., picked us as one of the winners in a Sonicbids talent search and invited us to play at the festival in South Dakota. We also recently found out that our song "Jesus My Glory" won the honors of best Gospel song for 2008 in the John Lennon songwriting competition. We won a bunch of prizes such as a new guitar, and a bunch of software and equipment we have needed. How good God is! We don't deserve any of it but he continues to bless us. Our prayer is that we would see His will for us through all these great things and be led by the spirit. We want to serve His kingdom alone and continue to encourage Christians to do the same.

Hey all,

God has been so good. So good in fact we can't believe it. We have in the past 2 weeks come to find out we won 2 competitions as a band. The first is we won the hearitfirst.com battle of the bands competition. There were so many great bands that were invovled, but God blessed us with being the grand prize winners! It was very hard to believe when we first heard that. As the winner we have the distinct honor of opening for Stellar Kart and Mercyme at the GMA Music In The Rockies event. That should be a blast. We also are one of the winners in the Creation Festival national talent search battle of the bands. As one of  the winners, we are invited to go to the Creation Festival in Pennsylvania and play at their fringe stage on Friday, June 27. We will join many great acts there to serve the purpose of the festival and the 40,000 believers that will be in attendance. Right after Creation, we will drive to Illinois for the Cornerstone Festival and take part in the UGG showcase along with Reilly and West Coast Revival. We want to take all these great oppurtunities and use them for the glory of our Savior. So please pray for us. Pray for us that we would walk in the spirit and be a light to those we come in contact with that may not know Christ or are teetering on the edge. We have been asking as a band for God to use us in a way that glorifies Him. He has given us these oppurtunites and we want to make the most of it.
