HAVE A TINCHY STRIDER AT THIS YOU LITTLE COSMIC KEFFS - THAT'S RIGHT IT'S AN EYE EXAM, GO ON, KEEP READING, THERE YOU GO....
Monday, August 24, 2009
Unfortch we had a spot of bad news - both the jeremy jay gig on the 2nd spetember and the london show w/la shark in september have been cancelled. I'm pleased to say neither of these mishaps are of our doing, and the london show will be rescheduled in the nearish future. So all you london based former bullies and bullyettes don't shed a tear we will be reunited at some point.

Good news - there's going to be a hot new tape of former bullies tracks produced (limited run of 50) more info to follow - but i'll let it in on one thing - it's a real piece of work / or art / an art work.

loving you art work, nick.

i think woo-flipping-wee hits the nail on the bonce.
if you haven't heard or listened, we've got some newtracks...and, i know i always say this, they are the best bunch ever, real hot rocks!

- 'planetarium' - love & death
- 'papa's got a brand new bag' - this is a cover of the james brown song re interpreted for the 21st century attention span
- 'no thanks' - about the time we hypnotised a chair
- 'long way' - this is about when i worked in leyland, rather than stockport, and the road
sometimes seemed like it was long
- 'try to communicate' - about the time we were attacked by a dictionary

also, don't know if you noticed, we've got a gig in fallowfield, manchester, students daze here we come, remember us? the wild boys, the warm boys...?
it's with david kay's new sexy, love based band, i imagine it'll be a right larf, on a friday, in fallowfield, a right larf, did i forget anything?

Croak Croak Croak! Alright?
The band Former Bullies is playing another gig, their second gig in as many years, that's right, i think they refer to that as a world tour in the biz. Call us The Rolling Stones! Call us The Beatles! Call us Semisonic! Call us Coldplay! Call us Third Eye Blind! Call us what you will, but don't call us on Saturday 20th September 2008, because we'll be playing a gig at the Klondyke Club in Levenshulme with one of the greats, Thanksgiving!
We'll almost definitely see you there, so we can all catch up then.
Lots of love loviekins, the lover (of love).

Look at this:
http://nickainsworth.blogspot.com/
It's a bloody blogspot by Nick Ainsworth, the singer with this the band former bullies. On it he writes things that are a bit like songs, but without the music or the potential to reach number 1, here's an extract from this blogspot for you to sum up, i'm never going to do this again, so if you like what you read you'll have to go there! Ok? Ok!

The next day

We went on an excursion to the mountains today, it was very nice. The sun drenched landscape we had become accustomed to gave way to a land of colour, a limited palette, but colour all the same. I was surprised to find this alpine retreat in the middle of the desert.
We ate lunch, I ate a cheeseburger, then began the journey home.
On the walk I saw a wasp vomiting on the side of the road, ..r inspection i could see the the wasp was actually being sick on top of a minuscule ant. I had never seen a wasp being sick before and was surprised by how queasy it had made me feel. Without another thought I was sick a top both the living (but ill) wasp and the dead (murdered) ant.

So that's that chav-hunters, this new place is where all the chavs live, they've started reading, growing their facial hair and wearing M&S y-fronts. The times r a changin'!

Who loves ya? Daddy does!

We played over in Oldham on Saturday night and i have to say there is a serious case of false advertising going on. The night 'Constant Friction' being run out of 'Jackson's Pit', Oldham, is run by an nice guy in the extreme, the crowds there were rowdy, but welcoming and in no way intimidating, it was like one long greasy pole (frictionless). A wonderful night, i would strongly advise people to go there if i held any sway in the indie scene of greater manchester.
False advertisement number 2: Jackson's Pit, this establishment is in no way pit like, it was cosy and warm, with a interesting selection of beers. From from pit, Jackson was a lucky man!
Thank you constant friction!

Only pulling your plonker, of course there’s some news about this band. We’ve got a gig! After 19 years of trying we’re taking this freak show on the road, mummy-rock is back! As you might have noticed if your life is very empty, we’ve got this smashing little gig with The Sorry Kisses, a lovely little beat combo from the land of my enemies, YORKE! The play some really good songs and i don’t think they’d mind me saying but both of them have shit-hot, rockin’ little bodies, ’cut from stone and cut from silk’, that’s what they should be called! Also, it looks like we might have a gig in Leeds around the same time that’s in the process of getting the mix down. I will let you know. All we need now is a gig in Sheffield and the War of the Roses is back on! If anyone wants us to re-write history they should contact us soon, not too soon mind, i think Tom’s cod-piece is at the dry-cleaners, he popped his wad when he was mowing the lawn the other day! I rikon!

Provisionally:

Friday 11th April - Leeds   Monday 14th April - York

That leaves a gap so come on Yorkshire, have a go if you think you’re ’ard enough and offer us out!

Also i’m not sure what line up of former bullies will be showing up, i not sure what the line up is at the moment, also i not sure we play any of the songs that we used to last time we went out live, so confusion, aggression, celebration are all to be expected and i’ve got a new guitar!

OK! OK! Stand the fuck back, there’s nothing to see here! Since we last spoke in the ice age, alot has happened, nothing that involves this band, but a lot involving my general health and safety.

1. My football injury continues - out of action - still slight limp - vital parts of my knee missing - Dr Hassan’s team really fucked it this time! Back to the drawing board for this freak. That’s me not Dr Hassan - Although i never did see that guy, just people who were training under him - so...who knows?

2. Very painful tension headaches coming and going. Causing me to worry about brain issues and as a result causing more tension equaling more headaches!

3. Lastly, car wrack last night involving me and my car. Whip lash is kicking my ass, wrists problems are waiting in the wings and a slow burning back problem is painting it’s a set for the next act of my life.
