Just a friendly note to let everyone know that my pictures from Berlin are up! ENJOY!!

Okay, I normally don't do this stuff, but the girl who tagged me is super cute and I'm trying to get in her pants (just kidding, Cass... except on the cute part). So here we go.

The first player of this game starts with the "6 weird things/habits about themselves" and people who get tagged need to write a blog of their six weird habits/things, as well as state this rule clearly. In the end you need to choose six people to be tagged and list their names. Don't forget to leave a comment that says "You are tagged" in their comments and tell them to read yours.

1. I pick my fingers. I've been picking at the skin around my fingernails since I was in kindergarten. I do it all the time, not just when I'm nervous (which is what everyone thinks it really means). It's something to do with my hands. That said...

2. I have to be doing SOMETHING. I can't just sit and not do anything. I multitask whenever possible. I've only recently learned how to have a real vacation: instead of doing work-stuff when I "have to be doing something" (ie. taking photos for my blog, drawing a dozen postcards to send to people and put on the website, etc.), I keep myself occupied with food, drinks, and occasionally, even reading non-comics-related books.

3. I have a morning routine. I hate routines. I get up, take a piss, turn on my computer, start the stove, cut some rope sausage into 6 small pieces, whip an egg in the same snowman mug every day, go check my e-mail, flip the sausage, go check more e-mail, swap the sausage with the egg, check e-mail, flip egg, check e-mail, go take the egg out and place it on a small plate with the sausage. Eat in front of the computer while reading my webcomics list. Every. Single. Day.

To be even more anal, the organic free-range applewurst (sausage) and eggs are bought from my "meat man" Danny every Sunday at the farmers market.

4. I don't wear a bra. Unless I'm going out of town, or visiting someone who probably doesn't want to see "headlights" (my brother, my parents).

5. Even when I have to dress up, I feel uncomfortable unless I look "unique." I wear a tie to formal occasions.

6. I get nervous and uncomfortable if I can't have physical contact with someone I like. Hugging people I like breaks the ice. If I can't do it, I feel like I left that person on a bad note and I get a little nervous about how that person will react next time I see them. Until I forget about it, which often only takes a few days.

Oh, and I choose.... Sonja, Mike, Adam, Kris, Aimee, and Val. Yay, procrastination!

Oh god, oh yes, it's here, it's here!!! I'm leaving for Spain tomorrow--- oh wait, TODAY, now that it's midnight... and I haven't packed yet... !

Just a little public service announcement to let you all know that I'm going to be in Spain and Berlin from July 11 through July 25.

And when I get back? GWS will commence. Promise.

March holds two special holidays for me. Actually, three, but one of them doesn't belong to me: Adam Cooley turned 25 on the 4th of this month! Happy b-day to him!! And if you'd like to wish him a happy 25th personally, look there! I've finally changed my "Top 8," and he's in it!! Ahhh, how high school of me. As for the two that DO belong to me, one is my birthday. I too will turn 25, on the 23rd of this month. I guess that's a bit of a milestone, eh? My dad can't stop teasing me about it (after years of calling him "ancient," I guess I've earned it).

The second holiday will be celebrated for the first time ever this year. It falls on this very day, Sunday the 19th. Exactly one year ago I spent my first day fully self-employed as a freelance artist. Truth be told, it feels like it's been a decade now (I started selling artwork when I was 17, so I've been playing this freelance game for a long time). But to look back on the year, I have to say that I'm pretty proud of myself, and completely fucking happy that I've managed to keep it up this long.

So raise your pink umbrella-garnished drinks: here's to another year of employer-free life for me, and more free comics for you!

Hey hey hey!

Girls With Slingshots is now updated on a thrice-weekly schedule! Check the site every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for updated strips. They're still free!

Also, please remember to pick up a copy of The Weekly World News next time you hit the grocery store to see my version of Peter Bagge's "Bat Boy."

Enjoy!

Self-employment means I get to do something I love, but it also means I have to work twice as much as you employed f*ers, sans benefits! That said, I work my tail off and don't have time to keep more than one blog. Please visit my website, www.girlswithslingshots.com to keep up with my comics (updated twice weekly, Tuesdays and Thursdays!) and my busy-ass life.
