For all of our friends in Saint Louis - In case you haven't already heard, we're playing a show Saturday, June 27th at The Pageant with a bunch of local friends of ours. It's called the HOMETOWN TAKEOVER 2. It's gonna be rad. Be there!!

Just kidding. Hello all humans. Ryan here. How is everyone? I am most definitely super duper. I'm very sorry that I haven't posted an update on here since Bush was president. I've been a very busy little bee and I'm the only dude in the world not on Myspace or Facebook or an iPhone. I also ride a horse and carry my own bath water from a stream. Right now I am working overtime writing a new SOTY record!!! It's turning out really good. I'm very happy with what's coming out. My brain is in a very interesting stage in my life and it's interesting how that affects what music comes out of me. I'm very delighted to say that I think this record is shaping up to be fucking great. Everyone is killing it... ... ... Oh and we are FINALLY doing a hometown show!!!!!!!! Saturday, June 27th we will be at the Pagent here in St Louis for our annual hometown takeover show. I'm pretty sure that we are planning on doing perhaps our longest set ever, covering all the favorites from all 3 records, and maybe even a new song or two. We are also giving away a ton of free shit from our sponsors like a PRS guitar and a years supply of Rock Star energy drink and some other crap as well. We will post further details soon. But yeah, it should be a really great and special night for us. I absolutely love playing here in St Louis. I can't wait see everyone!!!!! (Tickets just went on sale the other day through ticketmaster) Your friend and lover, Ryan

Dan's Ramblings 5-4-09

Thanks to everyone for coming out to the Irvine Lake show on Saturday.  It was an awesome day.  We had a lot of fun.  For those of you who were there, you know that I hurt my ankle pretty bad during the second song.  That sucked!  I had to hobble around the stage for the rest of the show.  I found footage of it on You TubeCLICK HERE if you want to see me injuring myself.  Then those bastards shut down the show before our last song.  Oh well, we still had fun.  It was awesome to see our good friends Bullets And Octane, and getting to meet our label mates Escape The Fate.  Anyway, you'll be happy to hear that after my band pushed my punk ass around the airport in a wheelchair all day yesterday, my ankle is doing a lot better now.  I'll be back to kicking ass in no time.

Now we're back at home for a little bit.  We have a lot of big plans for the rest of 2009.  I promise you guys will all be very happy.  We'll let you know when it all unfolds.  Keep checking back for updates.  Bye for now.

Hello my friends. We're getting ready to leave for tour in a couple days. I'm super excited! We've been off for a couple months, so it is gonna feel great to get back to what we do best. We start out in Orange County at the Musink festival with our friends Atreyu. Can't wait to hang with them again! Then we head down to South America for the first time. We've been trying to make it down there for a long time and finally it is happening. Stoked! Then it's back to the amazing land of the rising sun, accompanied by Taipei and Beijing for the first time. Awesome! Oh yeah, then it all ends with two shows in Anchorage, Alaska. WOW! Sounds like a long month of douchebag airport security and a serious lack of sleep. But playing shows in these amazing places more than makes up for the countless hours in American Airlines seat 25C.

As many of you have already figured out, we recorded a song for the WWE. We covered the theme song for a wrestler named "Christian". They came to us and asked if we wanted to put a Story Of The Year twist on one of their songs and we said, "of course". We recorded it here in St. Louis with our friend Jason McEntire at Sawhorse Studios. It turned out great. We should have a version out for you guys to hear real soon.

That's about it for now. I'll keep you posted on how the shows are going. We are working on US tour dates as we speak. Oh yeah, one more thing. We have some old friends from Saint Louis that have a new band. They're called Me Verse You. You should go to www.myspace.com/meverseyoumusic and check them out cause I think they're sexy. We will see you all soon.

Happy New Year! Welcome to 2009! I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday season. I know I did. So what will 2009 bring us? I know it will be another busy year for Story Of The Year. We are planning on touring until the late spring/early summer. We're confirming some more overseas dates in February, Japan in March, and we're trying to find some great bands to tour the U.S. with in the spring. Who would you guys love to see SOTY with this spring? Let us know. We need ideas.

Then after we're done with all that, it's time to start working on record number 4. We have a surprise for you guys on this next record. We're only going to write "rap" and "country" songs from here on out. That seems to be the only thing that sells nowadays and we got to make that money! After all, making money is way more important than the music, right? Haha. Fuck that. Talk to you soon...
