Solid Works

Jester House of Designs utilizes the latest in 3-D computer aided designs technologies. We use the industry leading SolidWorks 3-D CAD software to create and develop all of our products. J.H.O.D. also offers CAD training in both SolidWorks and the tried and ture Auto CAD program with over 22 years of combined experience. Other services that we provide include product design and development, drafting services and industrial animations (great for sales presentations, instruction/training and maintenance).

SolidWorks allows us to develop custom products with our customers direct involvement. "Nothing was cooler than sitting down with Troy Luccketta from Tesla and working out different designs with him", says  Mark Mac. J.H.O.D. Senior Engineer. We are currently developing a few new product lines for Christmas. We will be unveiling our new Customized Guitar Stands soon!!!

Keep stoping by our page for the latest news and designs!!!

We are so happy to present the custom sign made for the Library in Soulard. This really means alot to us, since this is in our home town of St. Louis, MO. Please check out our work and tell us what you think! If your ever in the area this is the place to go, I know personally you will have a  rockin night!!!

Angel and Matt Bostick are reopening the 7,000 square-foot building at 706 Lafayette Avenue as a rock club, with room for an estimated 500 concert-goers. It'll be called the Library, naturally. The Bosticks formerly operated Cruisin' Rte. 66 Bar & Grill (7895 Watson Road), which opened in 2006 and closed this past February.

                                                  Buddy Harman

                 Dec. 23, 1928 - Aug. 21, 2008

A couple of weeks ago, we were contacted by a very nice gentleman to build a Stick n' Stack for a pair of his father's drumsticks. But this wasn't just any nice man, and they aren't just any pair of drumsticks!
Murrey "Butch" Harman is the son of the legendary Buddy Harman. With over 17,000 recording sessions under his belt, Buddy is the most recorded drummer in history. And of course, Buddy created the beat of the now famous Sound of Nashville. Butch was kind enough to answer a few questions about his late great father.
Harman, along with only a handful of top musicians, is recognized by the Hall of Fame for creating the "Nashville Sound" This unique musical sound help Nashville to become known as one of the top music Mecca's in the world.

Roxy Ray:
We and music fans everwhere, were very sorry to hear of your father's passing last year Thank you for taking the time to do this!
Roxy Ray:            What led Buddy to pick up the sticks and start playing drums?
Butch Harman:       His parents.

Roxy Ray:            I've read that Buddy was credited with playing over 17,000 recording sessions! So it might be easier to ask who Buddy didn't play with, but give us an idea of some of the greats he worked with over the years?

Butch Harman:       Elvis Presley, Andy Williams, Keith Richards

Roxy Ray:            Of course, playing with that stature of artists, he obviously played on some mega hits. What were some of those?

Butch Harman:       He has done over 1,000 number one hits. Stand Bye Your Man, Pretty Woman, Last Date, and many more.

Roxy Ray:            Did he do much touring, or mainly stay in the studio?

Butch Harman:       He did travel with Jerry Lee Lewis.

Roxy Ray:            Obviously he accomplished so much in his career, but is there any particular performances that he cherished above all others?

Butch Harman:        4 Presidents

Roxy Ray:             Is it true when Buddy first started playing at the Grand Ole Opry that he had to play behind a curtain so that he couldn't be seen by the audience?

Butch Harman:        True, for a short time.

Roxy Ray:              At some point he left the Grand Ole Opry. What was his reasoning for coming back in 1991?

Butch Harman:         Session work lightened up.

Roxy Ray:              Now I'd like to throw you a curveball, and ask you some questions about yourself and growing up. What were your best child memories with your father?

Butch Harman:         The stars he has recorded with.

Roxy Ray:               Do you or any of your brothers or sisters play instruments?

Butch Harman:          I stoped playing years ago, but I have a younger brother, Buddy Harman Jr. Who is a top of the line drummer.

Roxy Ray:               Did you have an opportunity to interact with some of the legends like Elvis, Patsy Cline, ect?

Butch Harman:          I was a bit young at the time of those people.

Roxy Ray:               Thanks so much for doing this!

Butch Harman:          Thank you, I love the Stick n' Stack!

Our good friend Allen Shellenberger of the band Lit has been diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor.

Allen is currently being treated with radiation and chemotherapy in Los Angeles, California.

As a fellow drummer and musician, please take a moment to leave some love and support for Allen while he's going through this very difficult time, on Lit's MySpace page: www.myspace.com/litlounge

Thanks,
Chad Brandolini (Vater Director of Artist Relations)
& The entire Vater Family

Lit is playing a benefit concert for their drummer Allen Shellenberger on July 26th at the House of Blues in Anaheim, CA. Allen has been diagnosed with a grade 4 malignant brain tumor. Biopsy results have identified Allen's tumor as diffused glioblastoma multiforme, the most aggressive of primary brain tumors.

No Doubt drummer Adrian Young will be behind the drums for Lit's performance and the show will also include sets from Sugar Ray, Good Man Down (featuring Vater Artist Kenny Livingston and Lit bassist Kevin Baldes), Handsome Devil (Vater Artist Keith Morgan), Burnin' Groove, Mo Bigsley and more.

Ticket information for this special event can be found here: Ticket/Show info

CNN recently did a piece on Allen and his diagnosis and treatment and that video can be seen here: Allen/CNN Video

Check back for details coming the first week of August about an Ebay Charity Auction to benefit Allen and The Maxine Dunitz Neurosurgical Institute at Cedars Sinai Medical Center to help other patients battling this devastating form of cancer. This special auction will include all sorts of band signed memorabalia from guitars, cymbals, cds, posters and drums to meet and greet passes and tickets to upcoming concerts and much more.
