Yep, that's right. After a long and involved rehearsal where we didn't play for very much, we've decided that Hinterland has run it's time.
All is not lost, the new material that we're writing is better than ever so we'll be back with a new project that's fresher than ever....where we're practically reinventing music!!!!
So, we'll see you soon....in the meantime all tracks are downloadable so fill yer boots.
And....to all bands who are still mindlessly adding Hinterland as friends despite the title and this blog.....
YOU ARE A BUNCH OF FUCKING LOSERS, HAVING A SQUILLION FRIENDS ON HERE DOESN'T MAKE YOU GOOD AND IT DOESN'T MAKE YOU POPULAR AND IT DOESN'T MEAN YOU'LL GET A RECORDING CONTRACT WITH EMI. WHAT IT MEANS IS YOU DON'T READ PEOPLE'S MYSPAZZ PAGES, THEIR BLOGS AND FRANKLY YOU COULDN'T GIVE A SHIT ABOUT WHETHER THEY ACCEPT YOUR FRIEND REQUEST OR NOT EXCEPT THAT YOU WANT THEM TO BECAUSE YOU'VE GOT SOME MISGUIDED BELIEF THAT IT DOES INDEED MAKE YOU POPULAR, IT DOES INDEED MAKE YOU GOOD AND IT DOES INDEED MEAN YOU'LL GET A RECORDING CONTRACT WITH EMI. I'M GOING TO POP ON HERE EVERY NOW AND THEN AND ALL FRIEND REQUESTS FROM PEOPLE WILL BE ROUTINELY ABUSED....AND IT SERVES YOU FUCKING RIGHT.

Some of my favourite films from my childhood were the Herbie ones. Man, I loved that f**king car...he was ace. My car just doesn't compare.
Anyway, I totally digress....big style.
Like Herbie, the best no. 53 Vee Dub Beetle in the country, Hinterland are now Fully Loaded, we are going to Ride Again and indeed Go Bananas.
Ladies and gentlemen, introducing our new drummer and singer Gareth Warden (The Warden). Me and Gav like him a lot and we're sure you're gonna too. In fact, I've no doubt he'll post a bit on here too.
This marks a bit of a change of direction for us too, we're gonna be a bit heavier and I guess a bit more challenging musically. Stick with us though, cos we are gonna be goooooooooooooood.
A bit of housekeeping too: over the course of the next week, we're going to be taking down a lot of the pictures on this site and replacing them with shiny new pics. So if you like anything up here: right click, save as
See you all really soon.
Just realised what a dumb title this post has.
Doh!!
A new beginning ladies and gents....sit back and enjoy.
Darren

So that was it then. We have now played our last gig with Leebo.
Just a quick one really to thank everyone who came along to make the night so special - I think I can speak for us all when I say we had a blast.
To all of our friends and family who came along to the gig: thanks, you made it perfect. Hope you all had hangovers on Sunday
To Zenith: thanks for playing guys, really enjoyed the set.
To A Ghost In The Machine: it was a pleasure as always...thanks for coming down and playing and hanging with us and it was ace to see you and your gang again. See you really soon. You're my favourite band!!
It's not all as doom and gloom as it sounds, Lee's gonna play with us in the studio for a bit to help us out and because we love playing with him. You just won't see any more gigs from us in a while.
We're going to go now and get a new drummer. See you all really soon.

And I quote
"HINTERLAND - VOTE WITH YOUR FEET - WWW.HINTERLANDROCK.COM Awesome, a gonzoid, behemoth of a riff, stomping it's way through some demonic shouting - before the elastic, groovilicious riffing of the chorus slams in - like a funkier helmet!"

So, championed by Bruce Dickinson, playlisted on Xfm and the reviews are all pointing in the right direction.
I is a 'appy boy, innit.

Let me tell you all a story... when me and Gav were younger, we grew up on heavy metal. My first record was Electric by 'The Cult', this quickly progressed on and my favourite band was Iron Maiden. I wore out The Number of the Beast and Seventh Son... on my tape player. Lee was a bit of a loser who only discovered decent music once he met me and Gav.
Imagine how totally stoked I am then to hear that YET AGAIN Iron Maiden's Bruce Dickinson has played a Hinterland track on his BBC RADIO 6 Rock Show.
Last time, My Big Mouth got an outing, this time it was Fight Your Own Way Back (which is available for download through iTunes).
Fucking yes!!!
Bruce's Quote: "I played this tune for two reasons: Firstly, because it's jolly good. Secondly, because they're another young, British rock band."
Scream for me!
Darren (the best one!)
oh, and I'm gonna start putting secret messages in all my blogs, see if you can find them.
