Ok, so I have this friend named Ken Spivey who decided that he wasn't getting enough dates by the traditional methods. To remedy this, he turned to Ok Cupid and entered the online dating scene. It didn't take very long for him to get his first interested woman and they planned to meet. Even though they met in a public place, he somehow dissapeared. The only contact I've had with him are text messages he sends to my cell phone or via e-mail. I've decided to share them as a warning to all of the single people of the world. Be careful out there!

P.S.
What follows is the latest entry. To understand the whole story, read the story from the beginning. The first post was on 3/8/2005, entitled "the date."  The first two blog entries are open to the public.  Please send a message requesting permission to read any further, what lay ahead is a glimpse into the torrid sea of online dating.

The following day, were on the run.  The rock creature had defeated our fishmen captors and destroyed the fortress.  Out of interspecies compassion, a fishguard let us out of our cells to allow for our escape.  As we left, at the boulder beast slowly persued.  We are now hiding in a very deep cave with an unlikely ally, the fishman guard who set us free.

They have been whipping us and yelling at us in fish language, becoming more aggrivated by our nonfish responses.  Amanda is more badly beaten than I, I fear for her life from the loss of blood and violent injury.  They took our weapons and they mockingly hang them on the other side of our chamber just out of the reach of our chains.  Whatever god or gods rule this world, I pray for strength.

Two riders approached in the night, darkness and armor hid their true form.  They rode through the town slowly, with large swords at the ready.  Amanda, drunk on courage, lashed out at the first as he approached.  She fell on the rider's back and stabbed wildly ino his flesh.  I followed with my sword, striking the 2nd rider's steed.  The figure fell to the earth, straigtened himself then a yellowblue light blinded me.  I then fell to the ground.

Fortunately, the army stopped before reaching our adopted home.  They made an encampment in traditional Roman style using the surrounding natural timber, creating a nearly instant stronghold.  Amanda and I believe they are unaware of our presence in this abandoned town and we are keeping a low profile.  It may be the fear, the unknown, or my third can of fish chili…but I could swear I saw a child out of the corner of my eye.

We arose early, with the first 9 suns, to the smell of fire.  Amanda was the first to reach the general store's door when she yelled, "the rivers are on fire!"  The smell of burning grape Propell made the air smell sickeningly sweet, a mix between smelling someone else's cooking and the distinct smell of Publix cake frosting.  The flying felines swarmed overhead, drawn to the aroma of the fiery waters.  I drew my sword, and Amanda her dagger, as we saw what was obviously an approaching army.

Over this past week, Amanda and I discovered many things about this new land.  17 suns are in the sky, which makes the brightness of noon nearly blinding.  Small winged feline creatures feed on the polin produced by the sunflowers scattered among the fields.  The water, though clear, tastes of grape Propell.  We came across a small villiage which appears to have been adandonded.  The houses remind me of a town from the old west gone art deco.  We are growing hungry, unsure yet what is safe to eat.  Amanda tried in vain to catch one of the flying felines, but they move more swiftly than we could have imagined.

I finally found my way out of the cave.  The voice I kept hearing was that of Amanda Chesterton, a fellow traveler and she too held a weapon given to her by the same ghastly figure; a bejeweled dagger.  We wandered in this lush new land, full of gorgeous greenery and countless rainbows until night fell and we slept under a crystal clear waterfall.  That night, I held my sword close…something told me an uneasy spirit inhabited this land.

I've been living in the cave for some time now.  If I do not leave soon I am afraid I will go blind like one of those cave fish...or perhaps develop bat-like sonar abilities....  Talking to myself helps pass the time.  Sometimes, only sometimes, if I sit still long enough...a voice responds to me.  It may be my own, but I sware it sounds vaguely like a British woman.

I awoke in a cave filled with thousands of diamons embedded in the walls, shining like a thousand knowing eyes.  The ghastly figure stood before me and handed me a torch, and a sheath for my sword.  The figure then faded into the ether from which it had emerged.  For days now I hae wandered in the cave, I grow more hungry and more tired with each step.  I happened upon a spring, where I happened upon a spring, where I have made my base camp inbetween wanderings.  The water taste kinda like Propel, and like that product found at most Hess stations, it fills me with life and hope.
