Current mood: creative
So there are some rumors bouncing around in music scene land and I guess it's time we get this done. Rescue Recovery is calling it quits. There are many reasons for this. First off, Sean has decided to leave the band for artistic reasons (no, seriously) and this leaves us with dilemma of having nowhere to currently practice. Also, we have collectively decided that we honestly do not feel like beginning the search for "RR Bassist #4", so we feel it's time to close the revolving door of Rescue Recovery for good.
To be blunt, we have also become disillusioned with the local music "scene" as a whole over the past 6 months or so. What was initially a fun past-time has become a "job" of dealing with flakey bands, pain-in-the-ass venues, and fake people, and after time the question gets raised of whether it's worth the trouble anymore. We feel that it isn't. As we get older there are simply those of us who have higher priorities in life than begging people who don't care to come to shows so that some stuck up venue will let us play there again.
As of now we are not planning on playing a final show. We will be taking our band money and hitting the studio (with Danny!) to record the newer material we have. Honestly, it is undecided if we will even be "releasing" the album; we are mainly just recording it for ourselves as a sort of parting gift.
You may see some of the members of Rescue in different projects in time. We will always be making music; it is a vital part of each of us that simply cannot be denied. We may even still play together in various incarnations, and I still consider these guys to be my best friends. However, and I can't speak completely for the others, this will likely be my final "serious" band.
I would like to thank Joe and Paula from Insomnia and the Warehouse for sticking with us, helping to build us up as a band, and providing the only two venues that have ever given us a pleasant booking and playing experience. You guys rock!
Goodbye.
