This is what a certain scallywag o' Sandman magazine had to say about Seas of Mirth and 'The Scurvy Sessions vol. I' - not exactly shining with praise, but our first review so go figure, ye...
What can you say about Seas of Mirth? There's a definite nautical theme as the band regale us with Irish folk tales in the uninspiring guise of Black Beard does Half Man Half Biscuit. 'She's okay if the sea's okay,' is not that okay. 'The Ghost of Tom Jones,' a slight on the rare Welsh bit, shrieks with a sinister violin to set an eldritch mood whilst 'Overboard' is seemingly a fess of drunken and paranoid sailors up to no good. What I do like about SOM is their ability to musically induce atmosphere into their storytelling, an approach Sons and Daughters have mastered with stylistic authority. We asked for a pilot, Seas of Mirth sent us a pirate.
