This year, more than any we've seen in decades, people are suffering. Unemployment is the highest it's been in decades, the year ahead is uncertain and the value of every dollar seems like it is going, going, gone. For many families this Christmas, the morning of the 25th is going to be a very cold day, regardless of the wind chill. They can't afford Christmas, not even a little bit.

So this is a call to everyone who has a little something that they would like to contribute but haven't found a cause to champion. Check your local Craig's List and see if you are able to fill the need of families in your area, making Christmas just a little lighter this year.

Organize local groups through MySpace and Facebook. Sponsor families in need. A positive outreach from the world to a family in need may be what is truly needed for them, a chance to show they are not really alone this holiday season.

Won't you consider this? Thanks for your time.

So a good portion of the songs are written, some are recorded and a couple new ideas have surfaced. I'll have to take a hard look at them and see if they fit into the overall scheme of this album. Tonight I attempted to work up an arrangement for "The Death Of An American Man" which is going to be a big ballad-y sort of thing. I may need to borrow some equipment to get the sounds I'm looking for, but for the most part things are on target.

The graphics for the book are really coming together nicely. It's going to be a great little art project once completed. I only wish I had the ability to combine all this stuff into the standard CD release, but I guess it will make the special edition that much more... eh... special.

I'm looking into getting a real photo taken by a real photographer, marking this to be only the second time my photo has appeared anywhere near my CD (the first was in the tray of The Look And Social Discomfort) so if you're feeling generous, check out the photographer's site: http://jhphotos.org and tell her thanks for considering working with me. Her photos are very sharp and composed so I'm hopeful she can make it all work.

I'll post again soon on progress, but remember to keep 04/09 open for the release of "Enigmatic", and don't forget, CDs are still available at CDBaby.com as well as online at good ol' iTunes.

Talk with y'all again soon,

In all the chaos running up to the release of "Modernism", I forgot to mention we still have a few copies of  2005’s "Gibberish", a special instrumental release and a favorite for many...

Tracks include: E.T.A./The Backward Sightseer/ Brainclouds/ In The Arms Of Mother Night/ Secondhand Home Movies/ What We Were.../ Everyone’s The Hero (In Their Own Mind)/ Better Not Turn Out The Lights/ Secret Language/ ...And What We Could Have Been/ Benediction

CDs are $10 each (P&H already included in the price) and only a handful are left. Once we fully commit to getting "Modernism" out, it is likely "Gibberish" won’t be back for awhile so get your copies while you can. Contact us through MySpace or by e-mail at dunphyetc@aol.com to order. Thanks!

Mister Dunphy has taken a page from the Tangerine Dream songbook, added elements of Steve Reich, and Philip Glass, sprinkled a dash of instrumental Floyd and produced what I have to honestly say is one of the biggest musical surprises I’ve experienced in a long time. - Banophernalia.com
