Today was finally released the new EP by MAX GUELI 'HAPPY GLOOM' a refined collection of 3 tracks in a beautiful progressive house vibe. 'Happy Gloom' is one of those tracks that can't get out of your head. 'Terrifying tender' and 'Leaking eyes' are so well oriented into classic progressive house with new modern elements, and for all those real lovers of the genre these ones are a must have! Max began his musical career as a small time DJ based in Stellenbosch and Cape Town for small time venues and local bars/pubs at the age of 17. At 21 he moved his skills to Europe and eventually to the UK at 23 where he began to learn the realms of sound engineering and music production. At 26 he decided to leave the UK and return to Rome to further his production skills and has been based there even since.
Max's styles range from progressive house/trance, with the added element of rich percussive grooves and minimal elements. However, he hasn't limited his taste to other styles and genres and has composed several chill-out, drum&bass and even rock tracks, be it his own productions or collaborations with other fellow producers.

'The River' is one of those tracks that really tells a story, and it is probably more in this case because the history behind the origins of this track. Being practically on it's original debut as a producer of dj/producer Nuvex on 2001, this track was featured on mexican dance radio on Monterrey and Mexico City, both radio edit and original mix more in the trancy-housy versions. On previously tours no only as dj, Nuvex played live this and other material with an 'electronic band concept'. Here comes now a 2009 progressive house version of THE RIVER which keeps that mystic side of the track, adventurous and even melancholic at times. Definitely Nuvex is one close to watch in future work. For this release South African dj/producer Max Gueli (featured on Proton Radio, Frisky records) develops a progressive and trancy version of The River with high remarks on the roots of the track while mexican-american dj/producer Dishop (Renno, Trebol, Perfecto Digital) delievers a progressive and more housy version of this 'plentiful and adventurous' RIVER.
