Gang,

So yesterday was pretty cool.

Like I said in the blog before, in the morning I got confirmed for that show at the o2 just before Christmas... I celebrated with crumpets and orange juice.

Then I had a little tinker on the piano, made a sandwich and went off to Hammersmith for a meeting.  It was pretty rough weather and my umbrella kept blowing inside out which wasn't ideal, but after a great meeting the rain had calmed down a bit, and I trundled home via the chippy (good call!).

Got home (slightly damp), flicked the kettle on and tuned into radio 2 just in time to hear Chris Evans introduce the Christmas single...

It played out and they had a nice little chat about me... Then they played it again.

Twice... in a row...  Look!

I don't really know how many records that's happened with... John Peel playing 'Teenage Kicks' twice in a row is the famous one, but i'm sure it must've happened a bunch more times.

Either way, yesterday was pretty cool indeed :)

...Today i'm off to to Leicester Square to try and persuade XFM to playlist it. Worth a pop right?! I'll let you know how I get on!

Have a good one you lot,

Frank xxx

Gang,

As you may or may not know... i've just ventured into the world of video blogging. It's a little weird... and i really don't like the sound of my own voice, but it's probably about time I 'quit whining' (I watched Arnie in Commando last night) ...and gave it a go.

The first one is up now (on the main myspace profile)... and the second one i'll do from the studio tomorrow...

If you want you can send questions about things, song requests or indeed general abuse via facebook, myspace or twitter.

It's a bit of a poor alternative to not being out and about gigging... but we'll get to that (and a new record) in 2010. Promise.

Hope all is well in your respective worlds...
Big love,

Frank x

PS: There's also a free download up on twitter at the moment.  It's just a little acoustic demo from the bedroom... it's called 'This is England'.  CLICK HERE to go get it... x

Evening all...

I hope everyone's enjoying the wonderful weather we're having...?!

Today's been pretty long... I got up at 5am to see my brother off from the airport (he lives in Thailand).  Over 40 tube stops and a shopping centre later I got home at half past midday and wanted to collapse on my bed.  I forced myself not too, and wrote a song about being tired instead.  Now it's nearly 9pm and I still have another hour to wait for Match of the Day! ...never has the term 'hanging on' felt quite so literal...

Believe it or not i'm not here to tell you how tired I am... but to tell you that there's a couple of new songs on the myspace player... they're only demo's, but it's something new for your ears and will give you a nice idea of what's been going on recently...

You may notice i've taken the EP off myspace for now, but you can still grab it from Itunes and most other online retailers if you like... no doubt i'll put some tracks from it back up as and when.

Aside from songs, businessy stuff is still plodding on... I don't particularly enjoy that side of things... sweaty venues have always been preferable to air conditioned meeting rooms in my eyes... but, much like eating brussel sprouts, it just has to be done.

More news soon gang.  Until then, keep on keeping on  xx

Hey gang! :)

I hope you are all happy, well and enjoying yourselves.  Thought it's about time I let you know where we're at with everything...

To cut a very long story short... a few months ago I met a lovely chapped called Chris who introduced me to a couple of guys called David and Colin.  Since then i've been in the studio with a wonderful vegan called James, sifting through some of the 50-odd songs ive written this year, trying things out and recording some bits.  We finished off a couple of tracks last week... they sound amazing.

In the next week or so I'd imagine i'll find out how the tracks went down with some of the above, and some converstions will be had about the future.

In other news I went to see Morrissey at Brixton on Tuesday.  It was brilliant... plenty of smiths tunes, some wonderfully re-arranged.  After the show I found my friend Boz at the bar (where else?!) and had a little dig at his bow-tie... just before we left me and my friend Stewart had a cigarette out the window with Liv Tyler and Stella McCartney... they seemed friendly enough, but didn't pour their hearts out or anything.

In other, other news there's a new video on the profile... it's from Berwickstock 2009... a festival in a house in Soho.  They had grass on the floor in the hall... amazing!

Take care of yourselves.... and each other  (jerry...jerry...jerry...)

Boys and Girls!!!

How the hell are you all?!  Thought i'd better let you know i'm still alive.

Everyone keeps asking when we'll be playing out again.... in York, Birmingham, Glasgow and beyond.... so i'm here to set the record straight!

Unfortunatly the answer to the above is... "I don't rightly know".  There's some very exciting stuff happening behind the scenes at the moment, which means holding off plans for a summer tour and the recording of an album for now at least...

In one way it's a drag.... i really miss playing out 5 times a week and meeting all you lot... i'm also getting bored of the Nero's... Cigarette... Boots/Gregs... lunch on the common routine.

On the other hand the slight delay, if all goes to plan, will mean I can concentrate on writing songs and singing them.  As opposed to being my own unpaid PA/manager/personal trainer and psychiatrist.... more importantly I might even get my own wikipedia article.

I cannot wait to tell and show you more... I've written so many songs this year.  I reckon even Vishnu would struggle to count them on all her fingers and toes.  I might be wrong though.

Needless to say i'll start spilling more information as and when it becomes appropriate....

In the meanwhile, come say hi on twitter:  http://www.twitter.com/frank_hamilton

Enjoy the sunshine you lot

Hi gang :)

A very quick one...

I'm unbelievably excited to tell you we have our first gig with the new outfit tomorrow. It's in Guildford @ The Boileroom. Onstage at 9.30 alongside Gideon Conn and 6DayRiot.... come!

There will be a bunch of new songs, and the band now includes some double bass, some glockenspiel and even some ukelele thrown in for good measure... even more exciting is the fact that miss Clare Szembeck (from Captain) will be singing and smiling alongside me...

We've also just been booked for the City Showcase... we're playing on Saturday 9th May inside Ben Sherman in Carnaby Street.  Tickets for the festival are free... see "http://www.cityshowcase.co.uk/" for more info!

Big love,

Frank x

I just wrote a pretty big blog out and tried to post it, but something went wrong and it deleted, so I've got to start again... not ideal... especially considering i have a cadburys creme egg in the fridge and i've been telling myself i MUST get round to doing this blog and sending some emails before i eat it...

So... cracking on towards the choclatey, creamy goodness....

Just so you know... all the folk who commented on the previous 'living room tour' blog will be getting a message this evening... if you wish to be involved and havent shouted out yet... think fast!

Also... there's been a fair amount of conversation about a name for the band taking place... so I thought i'd throw it out to you lot...

I like Buddy Holly and The Cricketts, but unfortunatly my name isn't Buddy Holly and I like Cats, not Crickets...  therefore the best I've come up with so far is Frank Hamilton and the Tabby Cats...

I'm not sure... and the guys definatly aren't... apparently it's 'too jazz!'.

Any thoughts/ideas/silly suggestions welcome... you know what to do!

Have a nice lazy sunday gang

love, F xx

Evening all,

how are we?  I wanted to watch the football tonight... but had stupidly organised a band practice in my living room instead.  We tried rehearsing with the TV on and the sound off, but it wasn't heavily productive... so i'm forced to watching ITVs awful coverage of the highlights, which show no action from our fellow home nations encounters this evening... shocker!

Anyhow, practice was great... i've written too many new tunes recently, so deciding what to play and what not to has been a bit of a mission... i wrote a new one yesterday aswell too... it's got a hot chorus, and is nice and fun/upbeat.

So the other day i posted a blog about the Living Room tour... ta, as always for the lovely response... i'm going to be messaging everyone who's on the blog list on Sunday, so if you wish to be considered for inclusion in this exciting affair, go and comment on the last blog by the time i've had my late breakfast on Sunday... about mid-day shall we say?!

Right, that'll do me for now... see you on twitter... i'm following steven fry at the moment... he's in Bali, lucky lad.

Big love you lot xx

It'll be in the next 2 or so months, before I start getting busy again with the band...

EVERYONE who replies will receive a message asking for more details... and the rest will be sorted out from there.

All for now gang,

Love Frank x
