Music today is amazing! There are so many different genres out there. There is something for everyone over and over again. I being a musician can't help but be pleased with the many different options. For example, I have over 7000 songs on my iPod. With genres ranging from Rap to hard-core to Emo to Country all the way back to Southern Gospel. Something like four straight days of non stop music. With all of this music in my library it doesn't even begin to scratch the surface of all the talented musicians out there. I find something new everyday. I would consider myself on top of the music scene, knowing about a lot more bands then the average person. I recently have come in contact through facebook with a couple people from high school that I haven't seen or spoken to in over 10 years. The reason is that they noticed a comment I mad about a random band that I happened to be listening to on a certain day. It's funny how we who come in and out of each others lives can be brought back together through the common bound of music. As one who actively seeks new music regularly I am constantly realizing that the talent of music is something that is becoming more of a common thing. I live in Wichita, Ks. A place that isn't really know for it's music scene, But there has to be more than 50 bands that I know of in town. Some aren't very good, but a few of them are amazing like Clarensau and Abandon Kansas. These are a two that are as good as any National band in their genre. Being a worship leader, I have met a number of talented musicians good enough to play with any big band out there. I say all of that to say this. Please note that I'm not saying this about myself, but am quoting people that I've had conversations with over the years. Apparently I am a talented musician, to be more specific a gifted worship leader. I've been called anointed and a great singer. I do feel that God has gifted me with certain talents and an ability to connect God with his people. I don't feel that these are things that I could do in my own power, but things that God has specifically placed in me to bring glory, not to myself, but to him alone. I think he has opened doors for me to display these talents that a lot of people will never have the opportunity to experience. I've been blessed, lucky or whatever you'd like to call it to have had the experiences that i've had. I've never consistently played for the crowds that Hillsong or David Crowder Band gets the chance to play for any night of the week, but I'd love to be on that level someday. My point is that with so many talented musician out there I find it very intimidating to even mention that I'm one of them. I'm not the best guitar player or song writer or even very creative. I'm really non of the things that I love so much about my favorite bands. I can sing better than the average person, but what is the average person capable of today. It seems like there are a million average bands out there and thousands of amazing one. Take myspace for example. It started out as communication tool for musicians to be able to network with each other. Now virtually everyone I know has a page. There are so many people in the world that nothing is new. Everything has been done before from song topics to chord progressions. There is nothing new under the sun. So I guess my question is how can you be creative in such a created world. We're told what to like. Even I am guilty of liking bands that I hear about through friends. I don't discover anything on my own. Sure I form my own opinions about certain things but Columbus didn't even discover America. It's just so hard to put yourself out there and to try to do something of yourself when 10 other bands are writing the same song. So for all you musicians out there who are striving for something new, I applaud the effort. Write, play, sing from your own experiences and your own heart! And thanks for giving me something else to listen to.

It was a great day! It changed my life! There is so much in store for us and I can't wait tho see what God uses us to do! Life's changing and I'm ready!
