Hello everyone,
As many of you know, last night was the regional final for Bodog's battle of the bands. The Plaza club was packed to the rafters and a lot of great local talent was showcased. There were only 2 spots available for the national finals in Toronto, which will be held on March 8th. Unfortunately, we did not finish in the top two, therefore, our Bodog battle journey has come to an end. We had a great time performing for the people at Bodog, and the experience we've gained will absolutely help us in our future endeavours.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who took time out of they're daily routine in order to vote for us and come down to support us during the live shows. We would also like to thank Bodog music for offering us the opportunity to showcase our music to a new and greater audience. Also, we would like to congratulate the two finalists from last night's show, The No No Spots and Whitfield. We wish them the best of luck in Toronto and we're confident that they will do a great job representing Vancouver.
As for the future of Tripping West, well it's never looked brighter. We are currently in the mastering phase for our long awaited EP release and we're lining up a few shows around town as well as planing a mini tour of BC and Alberta. So hold on tight, because we're just getting started on what should be a rocking 2008.
Cheers

Where do I begin. Yesterday turned out to be one of the craziest days in our rock and roll lives. First of all, there was a scheduling conflict regarding our set time. We would like to thank the people at Bodog for working hard to rectify the situation, we are very grateful.
Secondly, our drummer, Chiko, ended up in the hospital during the day and it looked like he would have to stay there overnight. At that point we contemplated playing an acoustic set, because the show must go on. However, at the 11th hour, Chiko signed himself out of the hospital and came down to the Roxy to deliver some of the most inspired drumming I've seen in a long time(that is rock and roll my friends). For those of you who got to witness it live, it was unbelievable.
Speaking of witnesses, we would like to take this opportunity to thank every single Tripping West fan that came down to the Roxy last night. With everything that went on during the day regarding scheduling, you guys stood by your phones and computers waiting to see at what time we were ultimately gonna hit the stage. Any other fans would have written the evening off, but not our fans, you guys are awesome and we love you. It's thanks to your support that we get to do what we do, you are the engine that runs this crazy machine.
So what is the end result of all this? you might ask. Well, after delivering a high energy set which featured the songs Hurt Like I Do, Scene From Our Lives, Not Today, and Turn Off Your Mind, we waited to hear the results. Once the voting was over and the judges had made their decision, we were selected as one of the 5 bands to move on to the regional finals. The regional finals will be held on Thursday january 31st 2008 at The Plaza club on Granville. That night, 12 bands will battle for just two spots in the national finals to be held in Toronto.
We hope to see all of you out on the 31st of January, for another ass kicking rock and roll evening.
