I am still against the war, no matter who is the face man called our President. When Bush was President, I proudly showed support to anti-war groups to support the cause, ending this war, ending policing the world. It seems as though the times have now changed, the tables have turned. And the sheeple are once again out with the wool over their eyes.

President Obama is continuing the war effort and it puzzles me to see local anti-war chapters throw in the hat as if the war is done. They worship this man President Obama as if he is the Messiah, a land god of sorts. I just received an email the other day from an important meeting was coming up for their group...

"No to Capitalism, Yes to Socialism Town Hall Meeting with Richard Becker"

Many famous people created a socialistic atmosphere, not to mention adolf..

Why is Capitalism a bad thing?

The point is, I can not run along the side of another movement who isn't chastising President Obama for taking money from AIG during his campaign.. Then when the people showed that they were angry during the bailouts they chastised AIG. What about President Obama, Huh?

NO NO NO don't say anything, that's RACIST. Give me a fuckin break.

Just remember President Obama was against the war, before he was for it.

The New Mexico Environment Department has closed public comment for a Permit for Open Burning/Detonation (No. NM9570024423) that would allow the open burning of 100,000 pounds of hazardous waste per year for the next ten years totaling over a million 1,000,000 pounds.  An additional 18,000 pounds per year of Explosive Wastes could be detonated in the open for the next ten years totaling 180,000 pounds total for the permit term.  Additional quantities of wastes could be open burned or detonated on an emergency basis.

Numerous stakeholders have no record of receiving notice of the comment period in July 2007.  The public has not been heard.  KAFB also has large areas of groundwater contamination from toxic dumps and jet fuel leakage that the Permit seeks to leave in place in Albuquerque's drinking water aquifer.

Many of these wastes are brought to KAFB from other states and even foreign countries. Why should Albuquerque residents receive the health burden with no benefit to the economy?  The elderly, sick persons, pregnant mothers and children are particularly susceptible to harm from these poisons in the air pathway.

What are some of the wastes that can be openly burned or exploded to poison Albuquerque's breathing air?  KAFB is not providing a complete list, but they include:
       Flammable petroleum solvents like jet fuel, naptha, kerosene;
       Reactive wastes such as Chromic acid, Cyanides, Perchlorates, Permanganates and sulfides;
       Heavy metals such as Mercury, Barium, Chromium and Lead;
       Acids such as Nitric Acid, Perchloric Acid, Picric acid, Chromic Acid;
       2,4-Dinitrotoluene, Trichloroethylene (TCE), Benzene

The open burn disposal is not controlled and releases poisons in the form of gasses and fine particulates that may cause a variety of health effects, including asthma, cancer, hormonal changes, skin disease, reproductive issues and suppressed immune system. The illnesses and mortality caused by decades of open burning has not been studied.

Open Burn Barrel regulations were deemed illegal by the State of New Mexico in 2004.  Nevertheless, KAFB seeks to conduct open burns of toxic wastes that are dangerous to public health and not different from open barrel burns.  The NMED stated that "[b]ackyard trash burning is far more harmful to our health than previously thought.  The pollutants produced by backyard trash burning can increase the risk of heart disease, aggravate respiratory ailments such as asthma and emphysema, and cause rashes, nausea or headaches.

The poisons released to the air we breathe by the burns at KAFB and Sandia National Laboratories are not monitored.  How often have you noticed foul odors or had breathing difficulties and discussed this with others in Albuquerque?

What can you do? Please call or send an email to the following public officials and ask them to contact New Mexico Environment Department Secretary Ron Curry requesting that he open the public comment period:
Representative Heather Wilson ask.heather@mail.house.gov 505 346-6781
Senator Bingaman gloria_zamora@bingaman.senate.gov 575 988-6647
County Commissioner Deanna A. Archuleta shgutierre@bernco.gov 505 468-7108

A federal appeals court said on Wednesday it will reconsider its decision overturning the insider trading conviction of former Qwest Communications International Inc Chief Executive Joseph Nacchio.

In appealing his 2007 conviction on insider trading charges, Nacchio argued that the government had retaliated against him by withdrawing lucrative contracts after he refused to participate in a National Security Agency program he believed was illegal. It's unclear precisely what NSA programs were discussed in a February 2001 conversation between Nacchio and representatives of the ultra-secret spy agency.

Nine judges on the 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals granted a request from prosecutors for all of them to rehear Nacchio's appeal, which a three-judge panel of the court had decided 2-1 in Nacchio's favor on March 17. The nine judges gave no reason for their decision.

Nacchio's April 2007 conviction on 19 counts of insider trading had been hailed as a major victory in the government's attempt to crack down on corporate titans who profited while their companies suffered serious financial setbacks.

The telecom ex-CEO was convicted of illegally selling $52 million worth of stock in 2001 after, prosecutors alleged, company insiders warned him Qwest could not meet its financial targets.

The two judges who overturned the conviction concluded Nacchio did not get a fair trial because the trial judge improperly barred testimony from an expert witness the defense considered key to its case.

Prosecutors, in asking the higher court to reconsider, contended the March 17 decision improperly restricted a judge's discretion to exclude "unsupported expert opinions and unnecessary economic commentary."

The Denver-based appeals court said it would hear oral arguments on September 24. The judges told Nacchio's attorneys and prosecutors to submit within 30 days written briefs addressing four issues about the exclusion of the testimony of the expert witness.

Nacchio's attorneys said they were confident the full panel would concur with the decision by the three-judge panel.

"The trial court excluded evidence that would have established Mr. Nacchio's innocence," attorney Maureen Mahoney said in a statement. "The panel concluded that the trial was unfair and we expect the en banc court to agree."

Troy Eid, U.S. Attorney for Colorado, said in a statement that prosecutors, "will keep working to ensure that justice is done."

ALBUQUERQUE (AP) - The 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Denver has upheld a lower court's ruling that Albuquerque police officers are not entitled to qualified immunity on claims they retaliated against protesters at an anti-war rally.

More than a dozen people who participated in the University of New Mexico campus rally in March 2003 sued the city of Albuquerque, Mayor Martin Chavez and several Albuquerque police officers, claiming their First Amendment rights to freedom of expression and assembly were violated.

The protest drew between 500 and 1,000 people, who spilled onto city sidewalks and the crosswalks of adjacent streets.

The Albuquerque Police Department claimed protesters were blocking traffic. Officers say they tossed tear gas canisters and used pepper spray after protesters failed repeated warnings to clear the streets.

I'm at the point at which I can no longer support We Are Change New Mexico alone. I've paid for every event, I've paid 75% of the tuition fee to become a member of the Albuquerque Peace & Justice Center, I've paid for countless months on meetup.com and since only 5 people have actually showed up to a meeting I can't honestly see why continue.

Yesterday I received this email from one of the members on meetup.com who has never come to a single meeting.....

"Never mind. Im too scared anyway. I tried to go to some other meetups and couldnt find anyone. And besides theres a poetry & shrine making workshop at Off Center Community Art studio from 1-4. I cant miss that cuz I need to have a shrine to my higher power. They have all kinds of cool materials; believe me.  Just go to their web page."

Why are people so scared?? I mean I do understand we have alot of bilderberg scum in our community, but that's no reason to raise your fist behind the cloak of the monitor in front of you.

I just don't get how such a extremely liberal, extremely activist college town could be sooo scared of the boogy man. I put my real name on meetup.com, I invite people to my house and I'm generally an open book.

You guys just don't get it do you? You're scared... that's what they want, that's what they like. Go, sit at your shrine making class, suck on your pacifer with your tail between your legs.

The FBI issued a bulletin to 18,000 law enforcement agencies this week warning that al-Qaida has made new threats to use weapons of mass destruction against U.S. targets.

ABC News reported late Tuesday that intelligence sources have confirmed that al-Qaida plans to release a new video on the web sometime tomorrow. U.S. intelligence believes the terror group will advise its "jihadists to use biological, chemical and nuclear weapons to attack the West."

An FBI spokesman confirmed the threat "calling for the use of weapons of mass destruction (WMD) against civilians." The U.S. has no "intelligence of any specific plot or indication of a threat to the U.S.," the Bureau spokesman said. Still, the FBI has taken the precautionary step of alerting other agencies of the potential threat.

Such threats are not unusual for the Bureau. Earlier this year, Dr. Vahid Majidi, the bureau's assistant director in charge of the WMD Directorate, told Newsmax that the FBI gets at least several dozen cases a year involving weapons of mass destruction.

The Bureau takes such threats seriously.

In a separate interview with Newsmax's Ronald Kessler last year, FBI Director Robert Mueller said Osama bin Laden and his terrorist group were actively seeking to obtain nuclear devices with the intent to explode them in American cities.

Mueller conjectured how al Qaida might acquire one or more nuclear devices. "One is to obtain a nuclear device that's already been constructed from one of the former Iron Curtain countries, and the other way is to put together the fissile material and the expertise and do an improvised nuclear device," Mueller said.

"And there's no doubt that al Qaida, if it had the capability, would go down either route to get a nuclear device."

Mueller also had little doubt as to al Qaida's likely targets.

"It would be someplace in the United States, in most likely Washington and or New York, depending on how many devices they have. Or both cities," Mueller said.

The problem is : That CIA operative that was killed in a high speed chase was tracking a WMD that was shipped here from Israel...

I've been making some ebay purchases lately via PayPal... So today I transferred my money from my bank acct to my paypal acct, then I called PayPal to verify that the money was being transferred. The lady on the phone let me know that the money I've sent to PayPal must first be verified by the Federal Reserve.. And of course she had an accent so I had to ask again if she said the Federal Reserve. If you go and try to find a customer service phone number for them you won't find it. So here it is. 402-935-7733 Check it out for yourself.
