Last week I spent a day in the lovely countryside of Corbett, OR at Big Red Studios.   I recorded an EP of 3string guitar pieces simply titled, "3 strings".  Some samples of this recording are available to listen to on this page and all of them are available at www.myspace.com/3stringguitar.

I'm hoping to make them available for purchase and download soon.  In the meantime, if you'd like to help support me in creating my first full length professional album please email me at frenette.sean@gmail.com and I'll send one out to you.  You can also come to any of my up and coming performances and I'll have some there, too.

Happy Spring!

My main inspiration comes from the recognition of the many opportunities
and challenges that await those who seek to walk the path of an artist
in today’s world. I am so grateful that I live in a time and a place
where I have more access to different artistic forms and styles, as
well as to the cultures that created them, than in any other time in
human history. But even as global communication and technology bring
the world closer together so that artists like myself can be influenced
and inspired by a variety of musical and other artistic forms (in my
case, classical European music; classical Indian music; classical
Turkish music; Nigerian Afrobeat; American jazz, folk, popular, and
roots music; Klezmer; dance and movement arts; visual art; and
philosophy, to name a few), global communication and technology also
bring us the reality that not everyone on this planet right now is
lucky enough to be so fortunate.

It is with this recognition that I try to dedicate my art to the purposes of healing,
both for myself and for anyone who my art might reach. Practicing, performing,
dancing, composing, and improvising are part of a greater meditation
practice which helps me to be more present, aware, and compassionate.
It is also through these mediums that I try to express my emotions and
flesh out complex issues in my personal life. My hope is that any
healing that I can create for myself through art can be, at the very
least, an inspiration for others to find their own creative medicine.
At the very most, I hope that my art can provide real catharsis for
those who experience it with me and that by integrating the art forms
and styles of many different cultures into my own, I’m helping on some
level to weave those cultures together in a creative and respectful way
that honors the integrity of those individual cultures and provides
another modality for unity.

.... let me remind you that reality is an intertemporal, interdimensional, and intergalactic dance party. Remember? Yes, it's true! All of existence is a fantastic Kosmic fiesta to which everyone, everything, and everywhen is invited! Each of our lives is Divine Art, Divine Dance, Divine MUSIC. We are each a passing melody in the grand symphony entitled "Theme and Variations on the Big Bang". So enjoy and love yourself. Love your life. Love those around you. Cherish everyone and everything you meet in this life like one melody smiling at another as they weave along through the Great Contrapuntal Tapestry!
