February is upon us! Hopefully some of you have figured out devin's complicated websites. Fear not, he's got even more difficult things cooking that you will not only have trouble using, but will also pain your eardrums!!! I kid, I kid. (i don't.) We are playing a few shows as a POWER TRIO, which kind of sounds like the punk band devin and i try not to play in, but with Proggy Flair! It's very enjoyable. Richard has a good excuse for not being with us, whereas rainer is just being a puss. In any event, it probably won't happen again too much, so come observe. Ok! Buenos noches - p.

I am overjoyed to announce that after half a year, we finally whipped up a new website, and it's a doozey! AIRSHIP ROCKETSHIP INFOCUBE MAINFRAME v1.0You're going to need javascript or it's gonna spit at you. In other news, we have a new president (pb4m4 pwn4g3!!1). We are walking small dogs around big parking lots. There's usually something weird going down at Atomisk.com. The cold has hit Miami and everybody got it because we live unhealthy lifestyles. We're reorganizing live things and trying out bunches of new stuff. I've been listening to Climate of Hunter over and over again. Also, Kool Keith's Personal Album. Professional Photographer! There has been a "cold snap" here, and we are fending for our fragile digits in the "cold". Expect more new things as they happen!!! Coffee!!!! devin

2008 was truly the year of endurance!!! Hang in there and maybe it will bloom like cherry trees. Slow progress has been steadily chugging out of the AVARICE & FEAR department. Shining new mixes have been fussed over and eventually uploaded. Lots of more things are in the pipeline.
For a good time, do some research on "Remote Viewing".
Have a delightful winter, love and kisses, Airship Rocketship.

Quick update from the Airship. Firstly, the New York Times wrote a nice article on the Miami local music scene, and mentioned us and a lot of our good friends. It really is a nice summary of what's going on in Miami - worth reading! - http://www.nytimes.com/2008/11/30/arts/music/30mcdo.html?ref=musicAlso, Closer Magazine wrote a nice little feature on us - http://www.closermagazine.com/new/index.php?section=display&feature=LocalMusicOtherwise, we've been carrying on with recording the album. Avarice and Fear is shaping up quite nicely, thanks largely to lots of diligent Devin work! Much of the meat is complete, and we are working on the potatoes. (Nick Kruge potatoes!) Hopefully we'll start playing some shows before too long. Richard is doing quite well. (Both of our football teams are performing admirably!) I spent the holiday listening to the new van*gloria album, which is spectacular, and a long time coming! Also, it is available for free on the internet - http://vangloria.net/Bon soir! p.

We've been a bit quiet as of late, but now we have some shows coming up so we wanted to share a bit of news. Richard, our handsome drummer, was recently diagnosed with a brain tumor. He's been in remarkably good spirits, and so far all of his treatment has been going quite well. He begins chemotherapy and radiation treatment in just a week or so, and will be doing that for a while until the tumor is no longer. At any rate, the doctors have cleared him to play drums, and encouraged him to go for it. We played a few times this week, and he didn't sound cancerous at all! We're all really quite impressed. As such, we're going to go ahead and keep playing shows in town, cause they're all far enough away from his chemo sessions that he has some time to recover. We're probably not going to make it out on the road for a little while, but we have an album to record anyway. So, please come see us and wish Richard well. The outlook is quite optimistic, but isn't going to be a particularly easy road. Fortunately he's well suited for the challenge! We all agree that richard has an unbelievably positive mindset, so that's not even really an issue. Plus he just got a baby blue mini-cooper, which we all probably would have made much more fun of him about if he didn't, y'know, have a brain tumor. (We have given him quite a bit of gentle ribbing, though.) In closing, here are a couple of rad photos of richard's brain. One is of his shunt, which is a tube that diverts fluid that accumulates because of the tumor from his brain to his stomach (!). The other is of the tumor itself, which is right in the middle. Think positive! -airship

So we're trucking along on our fancy new album, in case anyone's curious. It's been a hectic time, since we're moving our studios across town this week, and devin and i have been scoring this movie which involves lots of crack. (the movie, not necessarily the scoring.) Nevertheless, we've managed to get a few songs tracked pretty nicely - motorxykle, changin' and this time. Terribly exciting! We're finishing up the bass tracks tonight, conveniently before joe heads over to italy to be a jazz star. This means that the next time we set out for shows, we should have a nice little three-song preview of our album to give away to you, the lucky show attendee. At the moment, our next shows seem to be a little florida jaunt with our good miami friends The Jean Marie, Rachel Goodrich, and Raffa and Rainer. Terribly exciting! Just a little update such that we don't abandon You, loyal myspacer. Ideally, we'll get one of the new tracks up on the 'space within a few weeks. Terribly exciting, these times are! we'll see you soon. hearts, p.

You'll be able to catch the Airship Rocketship song "Fashion" on CSI:NY this Wednesday at 10 PM (EST/PST) on CBS. Woo! They're apparently going to use it for about a minute and 45 seconds, so it should be a pretty major play. Not sure when in the show it's going to happen though. We just heard today.
If you're curious, the old version of Fashion is up on our music player again, and there's also a video of us below playing it live, from last fall.
Exciting!! Do tune in! We probably will too.

whew! airship rocketship phase two began in earnest today. i returned to the northern hemisphere this week, and we got right back to business. the coming month is going to see a large part of our album recorded, as well as a few local shows. we're going to be recording a ton of songs. this is pretty exciting. we're probably not going to do another tour before the summer, so unfortunately we're not going to be able to come see our more distant non-florida friends until later on in the summer. but we'll have lots of spiffy new songs when we do! devin's been a machine, and he's been cranking out some good stuff. we still had a couple shirts left over, so if you'd like one send us an email and we can figure it out. we'll probably make some more at some point soon. new smash bros is awesome. devin and i have been duking it out a fair bit since my return. rainer has new glasses. they're bigger, and somewhat more sophisticated than his old ones. joe has a respectable beard. i heard a lot of good things about his taser room concert with jim black, as well, which i was terribly disappointed that i missed. richard found us a real cuban cigar to celebrate the commencement of phase two! impressive. i am readjusting to the humidity of miami. i rather missed it. ok my lovelies. come see us this saturday! p.
