Happy Holidays everyone!

We recorded a new song as a gift for you and all your kin. Click http://www.kidtheodore.com/downloads/HalloweenforChristmas.mp3 to download it.

In other less exciting news, it was reported last night on Larry King Live that the number one gift this holiday season is MP3 links (This stat can not be verified). So send the gift of our MP3 link to all, and to all a good night.

In a third bit of news that hasn't quite made it to CNN, we're selling all shirts and CDs for only $5 till the end of the month! Woohoo! Click on the word "shop" above.

To see a cool write up about our new song visit www.twentyfirstandivy.com

That will be all.

Happy Holidays!

Help us make a music video! "I Am A Moth" needs a music video and you just might be the star.

The Idea: We want tons of footage of random people singing/starring in I Am A Moth. (Gender doesn't matter). We're going to use all of this footage to make a montage video that should turn out very home-brewed and fun to watch.

Instructions: Grab your camera. It doesn't have to be HD. The higher the quality the better but we want anyone and everyone to feel like they can participate. Play the song on a stereo and film yourself or someone else lip-syncing or singing along with the song. Then send us the video file. Make sure your lips are in sync with the song so it looks like you're the one singing it.

BE CREATIVE: We're probably not going to be able to use everyone's submitted footage, but the more creative you are the more likely we are to choose your footage. Film your grandma singing a verse, film yourself in a majestic location singing, stand in the middle of a pond, sing underwater in the bathtub, etc.

Please send us your video footage by November 1st 2009 to kidtheodore@gmail.com. We will start editing November 2nd. Your file will most likely be huge. Pando.com is a great free program for both macs and pc's for sending large files.

If you don't already own the song you can download it here: http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?i=260918792&id=260917715&s=143441&uo=6
or here: http://www.amazon.com/goodnight-goodnight/dp/B0010SS3HI

Have fun.

New-

Lots of new stuff going about. New Year. New President. New Franz Ferdinand album (Did I mention I'm excited for it?). Ryan is about to be a newly wed. Cole has a new baby due pretty much anytime.

So in the spirit of all that, our show on the 20th will feature five (5) new songs. Some you've heard (Prairie Eye, Little Children) some you haven't (Tap Toe, Ill Take It All). They are, however, all smashing little rock n roll numbers.

Gifts-

We are basically letting you choose our set. We will play those new guys and let you choose the other 3 or 4 we play. So bring your loud voice, dancing shoes, and a song request.

The set will be like so:

New Song
New Song
Your Song
New Song
New Song
Your Song
Your Song
New Song
*Your Song

See you soon little mittens.

-Brandon

Remember when it was cool to use Jack Bower jokes instead of Chuck Norris jokes? That was exciting. But this blog isn't about TV shows. It's about November 24th.

We are playing Giselle's birthday party at Kilby on the 24th. Giselle is one of the people that makes the SLC music scene go 'round. Case and point: she will be providing the show with free cupcakes. So in her honor, heres some more November 24ths:

1859- Darwin publishes "The Origin of Species". A book that garnered monkeys a lot of much needed good publicity.

1868- Pianist Scott Joplin born. Listen to our song "HORSE" and you'll understand why this is important to me.

1932- The FBI Crime Lab officially opens. 70's later, it serves its sole purpose as head consultant on CSI: Miami.

1941- Pete Best born. 18 years later, he basically died.

1944- First WWII bombing of Japan commences. One week later, Harry S. Truman coins the phrase "Once you pop, the fun don't stop."

1959- Darl McBride, my father and "the most hated man in business", is born. He loves this title that Fortune Magazine gave him, so for his birthday, the family gathers to tell him what we hate about his business practices. Then we eat cake.

1963- Lee Harvey Oswald gets capped in Dallas, making him the oddest assassination ever. An assassination is the killing of someone famous. How interesting he got famous via assassination and then assassinated.

1969- Apollo 12 lands safely. One NASA official was quoted as saying "Hey, that went great, LETS GO AGAIN!!" He was later laid off.

1991- Freddie Mercury dies, and with him, the 80's mustache.

2008- I listen to Franz Ferdinand's newest single "Ulysses" about 78 times. Quality.

2008- *Kanye West releases an awful album of auto-tuned nonsense. Dear Yeezy, stick to what you know. Leave the singing to Jamie Foxx and the robots to Daft Punk.

2008- *The Killers get all 80's dance-y with mixed results varying from "not as good as 'Hot Fuss'" to "not good at all". Dear Brandon Flowers, the 80's died with Freddie.

See you on the 24th chicklings.

Cheers.

Brandon.

We have decided as a band that I, as representative for the band*, should write things on our blog more often.

These things will often carry on for way to long, lack a cohesive structure, and will rarely have a point to them. Its a new form of abstract writing wherein you as the reader get to decide what the point is. If you feel your point of my writing is particularly spot on, you can leave your point in the comments field for others to consider.

In my writing you will soon find that I am passionate about 4 things:

-Sports (and particularly the constant tease that is the Utah Jazz, as well as the debacle that is the Oakland Raiders)

- Music (particularly the good kind, but I can at any time draw from my extensive knowledge of DMX)

- Attractive women (you know who you are. Or you don't. Why do attractive women always insist on "not knowing" they are attractive?)

- Politics (My opinions will not be discussed here because they are often considered "offensive")

I will try my damndest to keep these things light and enjoyable, but every now and then late modern political theory may sneak in and I apologize in advance for that. In those times where things get heavy, just pop over to Kanye's blog and read about expensive furniture and why auto-tune is somehow artistic and the future of music. You will not, however, escape attractive women. Me and Yeezy agree on the importance of this field.

Cheers.

Brandon

* Upon last check, I do not at all represent the opinion of the band.
