Hello there everyone,
It was a great show last Saturday at the first annual New Time Music Awards, and we're stoked to announce we came away with 1st place Best Solo Artist, and 2nd place Reader's Choice Awards. We couldn't have been more pleased with the results, and would like to give a HUGE thank you to everyone who voted, and everyone in general for their on-going support. We'll post some photos from the night on our myspace page in the coming weeks, so keep checking for that.
In other news:
*We're currently writing and revising material for our upcoming Full-Length Album which is looking to be done sometime in the spring of 2010, we've got some awesome suprises for it that we'll announce when the release gets closer, but we're very excited for that.
Also, here is a nice little review of the EP from Thisismodern.net (their website is having trouble, so we'll just post the review here)
"The world can become suffocated with the sameness of the singer/songwriter, but Chase McBride won't allow himself to fall into that trap. His music is fresh and organic. His voice is not indistinguishable and he doesn't try to emulate any other musicians. Sure you can draw comparisons to many laid back artists that are out there but there's just something about McBride that is one step ahead of the norm. With only 5 tracks on his debut EP, he certainly whets the whistle for more. Fans of Dispatch and State Radio will surely see the comparison to Chad Urmston's vocal prowess and fans of acoustic surf music ala Jack & Donavon will certainly be instant fans."

Peace,
Chase McBride

Hey there lovely people,
I just learned that we've been selected as on the the top 3 finalists in San Luis Obispo's New Time Music Awards, which is a huge music competition put on by the popular Central Coast Periodical. We're stoked and very suprised, a lot of amazing (and accomplished) applicants entered, so it's an honor just to be in the running. Thanks for all the continuing support and compliments, we're more motivated than ever with our music, and couldn't be happier.
The winners will be announced at Downtown Brew on Saturday, August 8th at a special concert put on by New Times. All the finalists will play short sets, and then at the end of the night, a winner will be announced. We'd love to see you all there, it's going to be a cool night.
In other news, we've been playing a lot of great shows around SLO and the greater California area, thanks to everyone we've met and hung out with, good times!
Peace,
Chase McBride

Go check it out and leave some loving.
HUGE thanks to Jordan Riggs and his crew down in Ventura, CA. Those guys made this experience amazing!
Here's a fun little tid-bit as well, the video was actually shot in the living room of the house used in the movie Erin Brockovich. Julia Roberts was totally chillin' right where we filmed this bad boy. Awesome that is.
Tell your friends and enjoy.
Peace, Chase

What's up everyone,
I'm writing this from sunny Ventura, CA where tomorrow we start filming the music video for the single, "1937" from our EP. We're super stoked to be working with Director Jordan Riggs and his talented film crew. The video has been in the works for a few months now, from brainstorming ideas all the way to getting permits from the city as well as writing out a solid story line. Tomorrow (Friday, April 3rd) marks day one of the shoot, and we couldn't be more excited. We're keeping the details about the video secret until we release it, but it's going to be really sweet. We'll be posting some tasty behind the scenes videos on the myspace page for everyone to check out in the coming weeks, so be sure to check that out.
Lastly, we'd like to thank everyone for the continuing support of our EP, "From the Mountains to the Sea"! Sales have been awesome, and we appreciate all the comments you guys have been sending us! You guys are casually sweet fans and keep us motivated to keep creating. Right on!
Here's a little tid-bit to keep everyone vibing on life until we can premiere the video. This band has been a huge inspiration for us throughout the past few years:

Current mood:sunny afternoon
Good news everybody!!!We finished mastering the E.P. this last weekend and officially sent it off to be pressed. (give thanks and praise, all the stress and hard work is now over, time to go feast at In-n-out).
So.....
The E.P. is going to be titled, "From the Mountains to the Sea", a reference to my move from Montana to California, which is when most of the material for the record was created. We tracked and mixed locally with Tyson Leonard over the past few months before taking the tracks to Nestor Padilla-Tiller to master em' and make them, "real cute" (verbatim from the mouth of Nestor himself). I (Chase) recorded all the guitar and vocal tracks, the newly-shaven Jonathan Withem threw down the drum beats, risky-climber Austin Mello provided us with tasty bass vibes, and we even talked the elusive Tom "T-Bone Steak" Molinelli of Still Time (our good friends, and an amazing band. Check em out at http://www.stilltimemusic.com/), to cook up a flashy harmonica solo on the Album's single, "What You See". I'm soooo happy with the way the record came out, and I'm predicting that you all will dig it as well.
The album will be available on iTunes, as well as local shops around SLO in early February (we'll send out a notice when it officially drops "worldwide") and of course we'll have the physical cd's with us at all of our shows, so choose your preferred method and pick one up (or pick up 7, who knows).
Thanks to everyone who helped out with the Album as well as all the fans who have been coming out to the shows, and being awesome in general, we appreciate your on-going support.
Here is a little treat while we wait for the E.P. to be pressed.

Stay tuned,Chase

Hello friends,
I just wanted to give everyone an update on the recording process for my debut E.P. coming out soon. The disc is going to have 5 newly recorded songs, including: What You See, Bright City, Stealing Lines, When the Wicked go to Sleep, and 1937. We changed the name of the project to, "From the Mountains to the Sea", for legal reasons (completely false, just decided a change was necessary).
Anyways, recording is going great, we've got vocals, guitar, and drums down for every track, and things are sounding great. We've been super fortunate to have Tyson Leonard on-board, producing the album, he is EXTREMELY talented, and a great dude to work with, real mellow. Jonathan laid down the drum tracks with ease, blowing us all away, it was similar to an epic dual between two greek gods, tasty.
So, this week we're going back in to finish up bass provided by Austin Mello, and then throw some more ornamental stylings on the tracks. After that, it's mixing, and then sending it off the be mastered and it'll BE DONE! It's been a long and tedious process, but I'm very proud of the work we're creating, and I'm hoping people are diggin it when it finally drops.
If all goes as planned, the cd should be available by sometime around christmas. We'll have the discs with us at shows, and the tracks will also be available on iTunes, so you can cop that if you're living outside of the Central Coast.
Thanks for continuing to support what we're doing, I'm infinitely thankful for my gracious fans, you guys should pat yourselves on the back (if possible).
In other news, chase is a proud owner of a new pair of shoes! thanks mom, they're real nice, happy to have them.
Peace, Chase
