Greetings from Arcata!
We are going to try to put up a new blog every day from this tour... ambitious yes, but I think we can do it. Today is my turn.

After loading up the van and the trailer (new addition this tour), we got out of town merely an hour and a half later than we had planned. We decided that we would run down yesterday to avoid driving all day today and tonight as we have to make a run for San Diego right after tonight's show. 15 hours! Holy CRAP!

So here we are at our homie Shane's house enjoying some of the local greenery.

Tonight we play Jambalaya in Arcata and it should be a good time. We get to play with Yogoman Burning Band out of Bellingham, WA and they will definatly tear it up positive style.

Peace and good vibes to everyone and thanks for your well wishes.... Hit us up!

PEACE!
Chris

01 grind
wakeup! to another somber day in the race
another nine hours of steps? jah, i hope i keep pace
every body on the bus has the same face
buried in different books on the same page
i take comfort in the fact that my ride's fast
just a three hour tour--i want my life back!
i pray to the clock as sleep walkers run past
here's my chauffeur, the number 4
go-go-gadget bus pass!
the ride home: i'm a man who is utterly defeated
been flattened all day by sad vibes and bad feelings
can't seem to shake these leeches unraveling my peeling
and a million other lifeforms weigh down on my being
but you would never know it just to see me
how much the dark prince use babylon to defeat me
only your strength and jah will ever keep me from conceding
so this is me on my knees thanking you for your healing

like clockwork my schedule is set
the world's weight placed right on my neck
like a cog in the wheel i'm kept at high pace
cause they turned my marathon into a race
like clockwork my schedule is set
the world's weight placed right on my neck
i don't care what they say i'm still gonna fight
cause grindin' every day ain't any kind of life

from high on this outpost i survey this mess
cost of living been raised includes fear and more stress
the same god we love is the same god we test
with our lies and our wars and beliefs we are best

like clockwork my schedule is set
the world's weight placed right on my neck
like a cog in the wheel i'm kept at high pace
cause they turned my marathon into a race
like clockwork my schedule is set
the world's weight placed right on my neck
i don't care what they say i'm still gonna fight
cause grindin' every day ain't any kind of life

from high on this outpost we survey this mess
cost of living been raised
includes fear and more stress
the same god we love is the same god we test
with our lies and our wars and beliefs we are best

this one goes out to the clock watchers
cause I was one too and I know that you're out there
you spend your work week counting down seconds
avoiding your boss and making plans for the weekend
but its only Monday and you wanted more Sundays
so swallow the drug that your morning mandates
it's burning your tongue but breathing no fire
accomplish so little cause your body so wired
but its almost five so down to the dive
with toothpaste in the dash just to hide it from your wife
then you're stuck in the couch for the rest of the night
its called a routine and this is your life
so if you wanna get out of the grind
and your friends are sick and tired of listening to you whine
just stop trading five days for two
and do what you love, what your suppose to do

like clockwork my schedule is set
the world's weight placed right on my neck
like a cog in the wheel i'm kept at high pace
cause they turned my marathon into a race
like clockwork my schedule is set
the world's weight placed right on my neck
i don't care what they say i'm still gonna fight
cause grindin' every day ain't any kind of life

02 it's not that complicated
my mind is awake and i can't slow it down
these feelings inside swirlin' 'round and around
my head in a whirlwind; i caught in the draft
now i just went to far and there's no turning back

i & i
defend against babylon all of i day
i & i
march through the dark though i can't see the way

and i won't try and run
and i won't try and hide
from these shadows that start to creep up on my mind
the shapes that they take
as i wait for daybreak
melt away with the flow of this flame that we make

apocalyptic optimists
temporary residents
we ill from the sense life is meaningless
six billion of us still wander in lust
told we are broken but dream of innocence
sold off like tokens
viewed in percentages
by men made from the same dust as us
insane -- work for nothin' to take to your grave
pavement covering your final resting place
we'll never rest our pace
till the asphalts erased
till we can see the stars
flashy cars leave the race
our catchy march emanates from the basement
inside our mind;
the light shinin' in our statements

i & i
defend against babylon all of i day
i & i
march through the dark though i can't see the way

and i won't try and run
and i won't try and hide
from these shadows that start to creep up on my mind
the shapes that they take
as i wait for daybreak
melt away with the flow of this flame that we make

03 bounce with me
we found the funk
mixed in some punk
yeah, we got the blues
for reggae music to use
mixed in hip-hop
makin' each beat drop
yeah, we got the funk
so everybody just jump!

and bounce with me, bounce with me, bounce with me...x4

funk is the lady who grind the wash machine
funk is the lady steady hustlin' the green
funky is the lady yellin' five hail mary's
funky is the lady skanking in the library
funk is the lady at the sandwich shop
givin' off that funky vibe cause she dance with a mop
funky is the lady climbin' corporate ladders
funkin' with the boss--but not for her status
funky ain't the girl obsessin' 'bout her makeup
funky ain't the girl--chest bouncin' fulla fake stuff
funky ain't the girl with the fake and bake tan
but funk is on tour cause the chimney van can!
so funky is the lady the immigrants meet
standin' in between their freedom and dreams
and funky is the lady who storm the whitehouse
take control and throw unholy mother funker bush right-out

when we hit the dance floor
everybody movin' their feet
we gonna rock the block and all the people in the spot
gonna spill out into the street

baby are feelin' the groove
you know i got nothin' to lose
all the hunnies in the spot makin' eyes at me
but i only wanna dance with you
so gimmee the mic to ignite this night right
dedicate this flight to the time of our lives
cause this train don't stop till the mornin' light
so either get out the way or come along for the ride
see when i hit the dance floor
i give up all of my stress
i let the flow grow whole with every little step
and this weight drops right off my neck
so listen up girl i wanna have me some fun
i wanna let loose and get down till we see the sun
come dance with me i hope you're feelin' it too
i'd give everything i own just to feel you move

when we hit the dance floor
everybody movin' their feet
we gonna rock the block and all the people in the spot
gonna spill out into the street

keep rolling to 38th and Lincoln
after party all night, trying to greet the sunrise
no surpise--she got a man already
when she came for the music but she stayed to get friendly
so if you find me getting down on the floor
just tap me on the shoulder and pass me one more
because tonight there was a Pabst flight
and it's harder to get drunk when you're drinking Coors light
yo bmerz!
hey P.Hill what's cracking?
you seen SpecialGuest? no way he passed out yet
yo, go check his room
i hope he's wearing his shoes
you gonna write on his face?
please go the fuck away!

when we hit the dance floor
everybody movin' their feet
we gonna rock the block and all the people in the spot
gonna spill out into the street

04 visions
visions of roots visions of truth
visions of strong women and a well fed youth
with open hearts and conscious minds
I pray for them thing lord in my time
until that day the struggle move on
this is just another revolution song

a better world with our eyes wide open in the wind
feel the vibe deep inside from this flame deep within
these visions of sessions teachin' they lessons
me lessen the pressure, bring forth jah message
foretellings of a life long lived free of stress
give thanks and praise for every last breath
now chant down babylon set on a fire
for every situation revolution requires...

visions of roots visions of truth
visions of strong women and a well fed youth
with open hearts and conscious minds
I pray for them thing lord in my time
until that day the struggle move on
this is just another revolution song

feel dem creep each shallow exhale i seek
can't breathe and my lights recede so pale and week
a virus breed deep in my frail temple
i'm drownin' in the puddle that i wretch each day
keep putrid from my veins-await visions
you get the bends, float away
still i stay to seek truth, dream deep, grow my roots
stay humble to whom i'm a slave
these...

visions of roots visions of truth
visions of strong women and a well fed youth
with open hearts and conscious minds
I pray for them thing lord in my time
until that day the struggle move on
this is just another revolution song

so stand up straight and lace up your boots
respect the boys in fatigues not the man in the suit
you can't trust him, he's a liar and a crook
he tax me two cent then give me back just one
tell me what would Abe have done?
if he knew his likeness wasn't worth the copper that it's printed on
what song would he have sung?
he'd a called for another revolution

visions of roots visions of truth
visions of strong women and a well fed youth
with open hearts and conscious minds
I pray for them thing lord in my time
until that day the struggle move on
this is just another revolution song

05 crows
like a seed in the earth straight from my birth
i'm beset from all sides so i reach for the sky
every day told how much i worth
by the birds who don't sing
they just wait in the wings
with their incessant cackles to put me in shackles
tellin' me what can make i complete
grow up little boy forget how to fly
just tuck back your wings turn away from the sky
you'll forget what its like in a while
say let me be let me be don't bother me
just let me find peace in the path that i seek
i'm not tryin' to hurt no one

but there's a murder outside nestin' above the street
they're the first to rise and they never let me sleep
but they tell me crow's so intelligent
but do they hear me when i tell them to get bent?

let me be, let me be
as i pass down the street
keep my soul on my sleeve
so my past can't bother me
our movement is this new type of beat
our generation make no more history repeat
we found everything is one
our atoms are rocks, kings, and suns
and history exists despite forgetfulness
but "we only gonna die for our own arrogance"**
like my past is special?
crows in every direction are words of discretion
from this spectator session of a murder outside...

but there's a murder outside nestin' above the street
they're the first to rise and they never let me sleep
but they tell me crow's so intelligent
but do they hear me when i tell them to get bent?

sometimes I'm alone and stuck inside my head
but my head is my home or so say the dread
where my friends visit me even when they're dead
and I can hear Bradley and all the things he said
he said ohh! take this flow
and share love with all that you know
for music is the gift that Jah give the people
so we send it back but not from the steeple
from our yards and our homes and our watering holes
never quenching our thirst never spilling our load

but there's a murder outside nestin' above the street
they're the first to rise and they never let me sleep
but they tell me crow's so intelligent
but do they hear me when i tell them to get bent?

**quoted: Bradley Knowles, Sublime, "We're Only Gonna Die For Our Arrogance"

06 paths
i'm a sucker for the sky and all that it shows
got a passion for this life and everything that grows
everybody racin' faster i just take it slow
take in everything i can many miles left to go
so relax for a minute let me buy you a Guinness
life loses its lessons if its all about business
like christmas the message is lost
sit and witness as i slip on my flip flops

a birkenstock prophet pocket judgment and listen
troubles all lost in stride--stop, look, pay attention!
train tracks! dirth paths take my back from my past
one speed, full steam, to stroll with roses, composin'
my life steady slowin' grow when no hope is left
to control my river flow, consenents and concepts
one step at a time, uphill caverns i climb
unset by dynamite--tryin' to fight in eight bar bomb threats

if you find the path jah sit you on the grass
change your nalgene into a wine carafe

we keep these words over heat so you know we don't bluff
keep our eyes to the sky we always lookin' up
keep our hearts to the beat our ears to the street
meditate everyday deep breath on jah way

the trees in my dreams come in all shades of green
and you see the stars shine cause i cut out the high beams
it seems life lays out a path
say so long to all that take a stroll on the grass
free to be free to roam wherever wind blows
feel the flow connect muse with mind body and soul
jah jah know with no faith i no rise
open eyes awake wide for the sunrise

i feel my roots always sinkin'
seekin' truth for the drinkin'
shakin' halts from my journey
stop dem stop lights a blinkin'
taken bets now takin' steps
i and i awakens next
single planet to protect
grown in spite the litmus test
i feel my roots never loosen--rail spike driven deep
keep my skin tone translucent--hue and music never meet
one plus this terrible twosome--microphone, my mind, and me
like paul bunyon, ox and axe--reggae, jah, and bob Marley

if you find the path jah sit you on the grass
let it take your hand make the future the past
if you find the path jah sit you on the grass
let it take your hand make the future the past

we keep these words over heat so you know we don't bluff
keep our eyes to the sky we always lookin' up
keep our hearts to the beat our ears to the street
meditate everyday deep breath on jah way

if you find the path jah sit you in grass
them words will lift your stress spirit caress
if you find the path jah sit you in grass
them words will lift your stress spirit caress

07 time passes by
Time passes by where does it go
It forms our memories it builds our souls
Time passes by and we grow old
We learn our lessons release control

How am I living
How am I loving
How am I giving
In the pushing and shoving in the world
As time passes by

The way that I'm loving is how I'm becoming
A man in the world that can't help but stumbling
In the dark, or tripping in the light
Their squinting all day got their shades on at night
Their tending always that the fade is just right
All just in case they got to break this time
Let me remind you that we see for the blind
Show all that shines cause music is the most high

Time passes by what do we see
Life moves in cycles for you and me
Time passes by love is the key
How are we changing how are we free

How am I living
How am I loving
How am I giving
In the pushing and shoving in the world
As time passes by

this carousel is circular
wood horses go down and up
unbearable is uncertain
good choices wont drown in the
history our memory's imagery
vividly christening remembering
the moment's where we're living
a slowing is beginning choices ever mounting
our soul is appending--time cycles through our ending
the whole trick is spending heart beats with my kin
replace the clock ticking with my drum beating 'neath my skin

Time passes by what do we do
Day after day what do we choose
Time passes by do we have a clue
Love lasts forever does that matter to you

How are you living
How are you loving
How are you giving
In the pushing and shoving in the world
As time passes by

08 jah provide
it was a late night
we were standing outside
when we learned this, this lesson of life
he said "hold out your hand in the light"
let me share some, for you look like my kind
and without fear his request we obliged
got a handful of a welcome surprise
and he told us with a look in his eye
"this ain't karma, this is how jah provide"

as i wake up wipe the sleep from my eyes
let me shake up this doubt in my mind
never take up with them wicked enterprise
so i wake up everyday jah provide

my fingertips shakin quakin no help from blankets
statements current in this pool reflect the plans that i been makin
never fakin seldom waitin on this path that i been takin
time unwinds the sun still shines everyday as i am wakin
and I feel it deep in my soul
trifle trappings of this world could never make me feel whole
so i let go of all that i know
accept the peace of mind that comes when i give up control

i seen jah remove a cancer to prove
the power in prayer is only that you do
your method or way, the words that you say:
frosting on a cake jah provided and bake
when we pray jah, just flexin' the soul
to resonate our love out into this world
returnin' in numbers 10 fold
the energy we live within give us control

as i wake up wipe the sleep from my eyes
let me shake up this doubt in my mind
never take up with them wicked enterprise
so i wake up everyday jah provide

in this web that connects each life to the next
the vibes we project affect the air in our breath
a monarch's wing flap make a building collapse
like our thoughts for your health make a virus retract
when i wake up i see jah provide
your Path and our guide forever coincide
this blanket we throw on our eyes
can't see our religions should never make us fight

as i wake up wipe the sleep from my eyes
let me shake up this doubt in my mind
never take up with them wicked enterprise
so i wake up everyday jah provide

09 war
feel dem fire as we burn down these walls
never tire for we march ever on
everyday babylon tear at our soul
but no way no comprimise what we know
tear a straight path through this wasteland of snares traps and lies
consumer use prove the truth they blindin' our eyes
they say that we at war yet for dem interests we fight
all the while the real struggle is the battle for you mind

struggle indelible, wagin' war inside my head
under this skeletal casin'--torn my mind to shreds
left and right combine, divide my tripelet eye
befreft i fly--mine's a battle of a different type
feel dem fiya burn up--on a stove iron turned hot
remains my brain pan--think back as far as i can
i see this seige and drama holdin'
'tween craving chocolate moldin'
consciousness, my conscience is
replaced by my mama's scoldin's

war, we at war
strap on your armor get ready to fight
war, we at war
for who control your mind be controllin' your life

i strap my pans and mama's pots
across my head on my chest
look like calvin and hobbes
flossin' teflon my vest
scalin' grey matter walls
of my mental fortress
to obstruct my nemesis
i hadda lock myself in
thin tinfoil surrounds
disrupts reception headsets
talk in code on the cell
i get the drop on the feds
this surveillance plots exactly
it's just like orwell said
we just a lot more distracted
and a lot better fed!

we heard the call for action and started singing instead
you should have seen their reaction when I reached for my pen
I started scribbling notes, needing cathartic unload
can't damn the mind for to long when the dike has a hole
so as distractions unfold I dismiss them away
and know the things that I hold, can't hold me at bay
but my ships coming in, customs don't trust me today
they say their fine with the cargo but hate the questions I raise

war, we at war
strap on your armor get ready to fight
war, we at war
for who control your mind be controllin' your life

denomination explanation and parental expectation
are just verbal interactions to confirm your reservation
in a cultured mind, the social unconscious
if you keep the kids sedated then you don't have watch us
cause we think on our own and we don't need no sitter
but could use a teacher raise my taxes to pay 'em
I got a dome to mold, A's make the grade
but C's earn the same degrees that help you get paid

standardized tests breed them best while in modernized nests
mother culture snag dem babies while they suckin' at the breast
all the rest in distress steady clutchin' at they flesh
for resistin' arrest take two slugs to the chest
preconceive our dreams till we believe that freedom isn't free
perceive the scene as the green breeds fear into disease
so we bleed and plant trees makin' weapons out of trees
consciously kill the message of the murderous machine

war, we at war
strap on your armor get ready to fight
war, we at war
for who control your mind be controllin' your life

10 eyes up
Eyes open with the sunrise in the morning
Givin' thanks and praise to be alive
Roll out of bed set my head no need for worries instead
Enjoy the picture perfect pure peace of mind
See all the struggles and the wars well we don't have them no more
Hunger trouble disappears world wide
We'll raise our children as a village no CEO can pillage
Take a breath the air and water's just fine
So empty out your spaces all you many faces
There's no more reason to hide
See all your hardships and your missteps you can leave em at your doorstep
Step out into the light

what would you say if you woke up today
and nothing was the same?
the faces are there, your prayers have been answered
a peaceful blanket of change
what would you say if you woke up today
and nothing was the same?
hate's been erased fear and greed been replaced
how you gonna live it up today?

Waking from a dream ain't as bad as it seems
Realize those dreams today
For the dreams you've been having (yo! just make it happen)
with the work done 'pon the way
Feel the light on your eyes illuminate the surprise
Get up out of that bed
And everywhere that we go we'll see smiles on those
Faces that are usually sad
Because the best way to spend your day
When you know that your needs are met
Is with you by my side, teaching me a new stride
Add a new bounce to my step

What would you say if you woke up today
and nothing was the same?
What would you say if you woke up today
and nothing was the same?

stir from a dream took all my life to conceive
finally feel rested—peaceful serene
next to me she's expressin': YES!
now it's time to leave
step off the pavement treadin' acres
we dancin' with the speed
of the light that shines for everyone to see
that the rain will fall but that don't upset me
we can see each other as one human being
respect to the mother of the earth, sea, you, and me
diversity of culture some space in between
know each other don't govern over the way the other be
the queen and me discoverin' all there is for we
and for we free to holler and frolic in the anarchy

what would you say if you woke up today and nothing was the same?
what would you say if you woke up today and nothing was the same?

Well as for me and my queen there's so much to see
These dreams can finally take seed
We'll keep our head up in the moment take a breath and hold it
This is what its like to be free

just imagine that existence
amidst the instance
erasin' future and past
we focus on the present
an entire perspective
shifts your perception
as the daytime unwinds
we'll just kick it here forever

and we can go dancin' in the street if we want
and we'll keep dancin' till we crack the pavement
and we can keep dancin' till the sun goes down
we'll be dancin' till tomorrow and we'll sing it out loud

what would you say if you woke up today
and nothing was the same?
the faces are there, your prayers have been answered
a peaceful blanket of change
what would you say if you woke up today
and nothing was the same?
hate's been erased fear and greed been replaced
how you gonna live it up today?

11 blue collar
i see the blue and whites scream at him
blurring through the night
pools of light
a fool in flight
pursued in spite
red lights keep flashing
a confused abused layoff is thrasing
no options left—no eggs is hatched yet
desperate times and his wife call for actions
desperate crimes and his life comes down crashing
a dark alley was the only avenue then it happened
a deal broke through the floor, so it happened
an old couple wrong turned round the corner
got one to many names, saw a face, heard some voices
the man laid-off recognized it was his boss
flashed a blade, stabbed away cause all hope was lost
imagine me as the man desperate screamin' demands
i die to save this world but i'm tired and shunned
cause i'm wired to love in every single fight
so this mic is my knife…now it's your money or your life

there ain't no use in poppin' blue collars
in a white collar world where handshakes is dollars
its dirty today but its clean tomorrow
put blue and white together let 'em bleed on each other

blue collar i hear the holler being locked into wages
white collars poppin' polos feeling stocked advantages
handcuffed in golden cages, got stuff but no patience
like: bigger the tv—better the football game is
let's jump this slave ship
find floatation
the ancient pavement can break if
only we wait patient, shown the way since
the time our mind escaped like smoke from incense
we rise…found a team to make lift
stole away the daily grind recipe to bake hits
you scheme to break free instead we break bread
we sing in the streets and bring home the bacon
our time is taken in increments shifts and phases
lives get shaken just like unwanted babies
our perverse experiments at poor creation
overcrowd the continents to staff our slave shifts

there ain't no use in poppin' blue collars
in a white collar world where handshakes is dollars
its dirty today but its clean tomorrow
put blue and white together let 'em bleed on each other

Boots and blue collars, sons working with fathers
They're learning a trade that's outdated and faded
and the hands that they trained are being replaced
like McEnroe's racket after he got aced (x2)

A button up white collar is hard to get clean
From lipstick, pit stains, pen breaks, and neck rings
Good thing for you that the shirt is no bother
Got your size is on file down at Brooks Brothers
Cause while these the needs of the bourgeois
Are met with the sweat of their underlings
Working swing and graveyard and driving forklift
Mopping floors, stocking shelves and prep the day shift
Service calls, service vans working nights and weekends
A handy man provides a certain peace of mind
A blue collar reminds you that the grease is soaked in
No need to replace a good work-shirt when
It's getting dirty tomorrow and next week again
Until the buttons fall off and the collar wears thin
But I still won't pop it NO! not even then
Because my patience is gone for these recycled trends

there ain't no use in poppin' blue collars
in a white collar world where handshakes is dollars
its dirty today but its clean tomorrow
put blue and white together let 'em bleed on each other

12 you know Howie...
we make them hits hurt
outPost puttin' work
back into knee jerks,
ear perks and weed smirks
lyrical bundle aligned for eight spaces
hear a loud rumble as tyler stauss laces
guitars, drums, horns, voices, and bass hits
Howie Do make us stumble out the van with the squints
random events give the hits significance
but just try and make sense when we make your knees lift
heads up! heads up!
SpecialGuest on the chorus next hits on us
wont you let us distort your movements?
kiosk kick off the next verse--P.Hill's turn
heads up! heads up!
and loan your one dome to the sped up threat of
tmpILL's version of rock'em sock'em robots
hits to the noggin' till your head pops off!

when the basement jumpin'
the hits keep comin'
put your head on straight
let your mind start flowin'
cause justice is ridin' till the truth come crashin'
the hits are for two steps and dancin'

Put your hands up if the hits keep coming
Cause we'll box your ears but your feet get punished
If you try and keep stepping through the whole damn set
And if you trying to keep time, just watch me and Brian
If you lose the beat check the one in your chest
Cause that's where we started and that's where it will rest
For the dearly departed and the SpecialGuest
Keep it close to your heart like a knight and his crest
Ride on! Ride on! Feel a break in the song
But if you step too strong we'll bust through the floor
Just like we rocking at the Crystal
Ballroom! Dance floor! Bouncing all night long
You should sing along if you can carry a tune
You know how we do in a cloudy room

when the basement jumpin'
the hits keep comin'
put your head on straight
let your mind start flowin'
cause justice is ridin' till the truth come crashin'
the hits are for two steps and dancin'

Fall in line by design got you movin' in time
All you people raise your fist in the air
We droppin' rhymes all night like a surgical strike
Interlaced with the base and the snare
We make and take hits vacate the premises
If you suckahs only came here to scrap
Cause it'll be a quick trip hit the floor with your lip
outPost ya'll know where its all
So get up, get up Get your head in the clouds
Howie Do and my crew about to roll through
Nod your head to the NorthWest sound
So Get up get up Turn the bass up loud
Givin' music to the people
Bringin' hope to the feeble
Come on get your feet off the ground.
