Ok!
So today is Mary's birthday.. If you dont know... Mary is the lady in most of the pictures and the other half of Kill Devil Hill.
She is by far one of the nicest folks I have ever met... As well as being one tuff cookie...
Its also my brother, Andrew Richard Straitons, birthday... Rok 1's Birthday and a few others... busy party week....
ok... to get to the point... its also George A. Walls.
A few days ago some one dropped a suitcase in front of the store the other day... thinking it was not intended for us... We let it sit out in front of the store till about 3 pm on tuesday.
Thats when we decided to open it....
To my delight it was filled with old mens shirts (I would guess 40's- heavy oxidation and sun damage) a few pairs of vintage boxers ad a old drives lic. and a few other things... according to his drives lic, he was born on July 17th 1904.
What I do know about this fella is that he was a small man.. size 13 shirt. and he lived in Qnz and spent short stint at the Y where he was a resident. Worked for the Diners Club and sold watches , and jewelry on the Bowery for some time.
I have no idea where this suitcase came from...
or who he was - or is... but Happy birthday George!

My fav customer today was the lady who walked in... looked around... And when I asked, "Can I help you with anything?"

Caused me to repeat my self..
