Hi Friends,Chris made for himself, through sheer will and determination, a good life, and he battled hard through all that opposed him. You've read about him being in the band, and I made mention of his other talents. Below is a link to the Victoria Times Colonist, the big newspaper in Victoria, BC, our hometown. They did a nice write-up for Chris and I think you would be interested to read it.JShttp://www.timescolonist.com/Health/Artist+musician+short+eventful+life/1385042/story.html

Friends,
I don't know where or how to start...other than to say we are all deeply saddened at the loss of one of our own, Chris Stanley.
Chris is a Zimmers Hole alumni, he played guitar for us during the Legion Of Flames era, and more zany moments occurred when he was around than I care to try and remember.
He has had a long battle with the many complications, and the day-to-day life battles with Cystic Fibrosis, Pneumonia(many times), a double lung transplant and the myriad of issues that arise with that. He has battled back so many times, and it just crushes our hearts that he couldn't pull through this time.
Here are some words from me...I know the other guys will agree with me on all this stuff. They may want to write their own thoughts in the coming days.
With unbelievable sadness, we've lost another soldier.
Chris Stanley, fuck...as I type this it all seems too unreal to me, but I know better. It's going to hurt even more, soon.
Chris has been a friend to me for over 20 years. He's been a friend, a mentor, and a peer. He was one talented motherfucker, that's for sure. Add to that, funny--that guy could get a crowd onto a frenzy of laughter...a certain moment from the Dynamo festival and Chris acting a little too retarded comes to mind. Add to that, whipcrackin' smart...he KNEW shit.
What he has left is a legacy of music, laughter, artwork and special effects, movie props, funny pictures, not funny pictures, nuns running scared everywhere, and more stuff than I could ever get into here. But it's all in my head, and it will all never be forgotten. I MISS YOU SO MUCH ALREADY CHRIS.
To Scarlet, his wife, and to all of his family, my condolences...I know how much he meant to me, I can't begin to imagine how much he meant to you. All my love.
My trusty old Gibson flying V has your flames on it...they will always be there bro...and every time I look at that guitar(as I am right now), or pick it up and hammer the fuck out of it, you are with me Chris.
With Horns Higher than I've ever Held them, I love ya man. We all fuckin love ya man. Wherever you go from here brother, I know that you will raise the bar, and a few eyebrows...heavenly or otherwise.
Simon

Metal Friends,
It is with great pleasure and pride that the '20 year overdue' Armoros album 'Pieces' is now available through Marquee records. Many thanks to them for doing this. Horns WAY Up. Check it out, then pick it up! www.marquee.com.br/english/principal.asp
For those of you that don't know, Armoros was my first 'real' band. We were together from 85 through 90. We did a bunch of demos and one album. That album, 'Pieces', was never released...until now. The label we were on at the time folded before the album could come out, and it was a devastating blow to a young band. We never really recovered. But, we were fucking good at what we did, and as testament to that, the good folks at Marquee have finally issued our debut album from 1988. 20 years late, but that's ok...I'm extremely happy to finally hold this in my hands. And very proud. This is my first brotherhood, and it still stands strong today. The music is just as visceral now as it was then.
So if you like it fast and furious, this is for you. For those of you who collect, this is definitely for you. A great package covering our entire lifespan. All the demos, a bunch of live shows, the debut album 'Pieces', photo's, flyers, a sticker, liner notes written by us with our thoughts on the songs and the state of the band at that time...all wrapped up nice in a beautiful digi-pack.
After all these years man, it's a great feeling. Long Live Metal.

Friends,
Just a quick update from the roads of the Frozen North.
A few shows into the Canadian trek now and I have to say that you crazy fans from the first few shows have set the bar for the rest! Great shows, great people, good times indeed. Aside from the occasional blackout due to the high power requirements of our light show, things have been rolling smoothly. The Heathen is, well, The Heathen...big, red, and definitely from another planet. We like to call him 'The Heat-Hen', HAHA! Jed, Gene and Byron are keeping it tight on stage and getting the crowds pumped up! They are a rhythm machine! Hmmm...I wonder why? :) 'Little Sake'(as in the drink Sake from Japan) is getting it done on the keyboards...you gotta keep your eyes peeled for him...he's a sneaky Kamikaze and will swoop down on you unexpectedly with his wicked dive bomb samples. So be ready, folks of the Great White North...we'll see you soon. And for those in Europe...put your thrashing hats on, we'll be storming your castles soon enough!
Cheers from The Gang.

Greetings all,
Most of you know already about our upcoming European tour with Soilwork, we have put up the dates now, and we hope to see all of our Euro friends at the shows!
It's been a few years since ZH was in Europe, and last time was a memorable occasion for us. Let's take it all the way this time and have a full-on, headbanging, hair-whipping, metal meltdown every night alright!? Fuck yeah!
We're stoked, it's going to be a great tour. We know the Soilwork gang pretty darn well so there is going to be plenty of good times for all. They are first class people and we are looking forward to seeing, and working, with them again.
We're still feeling the burn from the US tour cancellation, but this will help ease the pain. Our US fans are still hurting though, and we promise that we'll see you soon. We'll bring the fire, you bring the smokies.
Right now we are gearing up for the 2 1/2 week Canadian jaunt...I promise that The Heathen will be wearing his finest beaver pelts, Jed and Byron will be sharing cheeseburgers with you, and Gene will be throwing drumsticks, Ninja-style. Should be a good time, haha! We'll see you in a couple weeks eh?
Until next we bang,
JS

Metal Friends,
Crappy news for our US fans and promoters today.
It is with deep regret and totally un-metal sorrow that we must cancel our upcoming US tour with Sigh. Events beyond our control have made this impossible for us to do. Immigration issues are at the crux of the matter, and as we're sure you'll understand, no further explanation is really needed there...apart from our sincerest apologies to the people who have been waiting for us to finally come to the USA. We WILL be honoring our western Canadian dates, beginning September 23 in Winnipeg, and continuing through October 6th in Kamloops.
All is not lost though, there are other US tour plans in the works at this moment, we hope to have an announcement for you in the very near future.
Our thanks to the fans for your patience, to the promoters/clubs for all your hard work, and to Finny for going the extra 10 miles for us. Thank You.
To Sigh and Unexpect...and their respective crews, our love and respect. We'll miss you out there...have a good one!
Also, our Vancouver show that was scheduled for tomorrow night (29 Aug @ Cheers ) has also been cancelled...fear not though, we'll see you on October 2nd at The Plaza!!!
With love, respect, and sagging metal spikes,
Zimmers Hole

The Zimmers Hole family would like to extend our Happy Birthday wishes to one of our own, The Heathen.
Like a fine Munster, or perhaps a greasy slice of process cheese, The Heathen brings us yet another year of silly rubber suits, silly rubber cocks, and 'not so silly' burning rubber events down at Heathen Choppers.
Happy Birthday Heathen!
No Love from The Hole.
:)
