Hey kids!

So while our brand new myspace is under construction we have to tell you we are no longer going to be called HIP LIKE [blank].  Our new name is....drum roll please....

Unuka Records and their band Hip Like [blank] are collecting pictures of soldiers and soldiers with their mothers for a video montage to put to the band's song "The Day We Told Her."  Listen to the song, and if you want your soldier to be featured in the "Support our Troops - Bring them Home" montage send your jpeg pictures to Kiirstin@unukarecords.com.  The video will be posted on the band's website, youtube, and other internet video sources. 

If you are feeling that way and you are feeling like abandoning myspace don't forget we are also on the lovely Facebook (pronouced fa - che - booook) AND you can keep an eye on us at www.hiplikeblank.com where you can read about us, find out about shows, and buy nice things to wear or have in your home or on your computer.  So though you've given up on one social network don't forget there are many ways to keep up with Hip Like [blank]!

These guys are awesome.  But that one guy is definitely large.  Large and in charge.

Well kids, its almost over. We will never be able to write the date ending in "2008" ever again come 12:00 am Tomorrow morning. What a drag...

I know I'm totally going to forget and write 2008 on everything at least until April. Heck I even thought it was 2007 the other day. Just goes to show you how fast these years are wiping by.
In December of 2007 Mikal and I decided to give this Hip Like blank thing a go (of course we didn't know it would be called that at that point), and I wasn't sure if we'd even be able to write one song together seeing as we are siblings and all. Now in December of 2008 we are awaiting the release of our debut EP on Unuka Records, and we've pretty much written our first album (but you'll have to wait until the summer for that one). Yes we've come a long way...but enough about us...

I'm still not really sure how I feel about 2008. Amazing things happened and sucky things happened, but I still haven't had a great year since 2004...

We elected the best president EVER (I just hope he can live up to the hype)!!
I can finally be proud to be an American again. We finally got over bs racial issues and elected ourselves a black president. Well ok he's mixed, but we take what we can get at this point. We can still appease those riffle-toting-confederate-flag-waving-sheet-wearing crazy people by telling them he's half white.

Of course while we were caught up in the whirlwind of the election the economy took a nose dive, and I think the possibility of plummeting into another Great Depression is partially to blame for my acid reflux...oh yeah I found out I have that this year too! Goodie! Move over Ashley Simpson, I'm about to jig all over ya face!

Oh I almost forgot! We ALSO banned gay marriage in a few states...ok well I can't say "we" because the issue wasn't even on my ballot, but what is wrong with you people voting yes on prop 8??? I won't get too into this because I will just lose it and I want people to actually read this, plus my acid reflux gets aggravated when I get aggravated.

Britney Spears showed us how truly crazy she is...that documentary made me really appreciate my life...

Paris Hilton found a new lackey...

Batman: The Dark Knight left us wondering how we were going to go on without Heath Ledger in Hollywood...

But basically what I want to say is for all of you who thought 2008 was going to be your year, we're sorry, so hears to you 2009...you better f*cking bring us everything we hoped for in 2008 and then some!
