In Flight Radio isn't playing live for a while because we are working on new music for our next album. IN FLIGHT RADIO was just asked to play with LEZ ZEPPELIN at Irving Plaza (The Fillmore) on September 13th.
For anyone not familiar with Lez Zeppelin, they are an amazing all girl Led Zeppelin tribute band that has toured the U.S. and Europe and just headlined Bonaroo.

Album Spotlight: In Flight Radio

The breeding ground to decades of different genres of musical talent -- from the Gershwin Brothers to Neil Diamond to Busta Rhymes -- and one of the most diversely populated boroughs of the Big Apple has squeezed out yet another diamond in the rough.

Brooklyn-born In Flight Radio's sophomore album again mixes girl power gusto ranging from Avril Lavigne's liberating alt-rock and Sheryl Crow's powerful female presence in folk to the waving guitar riffs so often connected to those of U2 and Coldplay.

Queen of the quartet with her piercing vocal range, the singly-named Peira leads off with lustrous melodies, backed by the alt-rock flourishes of fellow guitarist Saric, bassist Devin Krug and drummer Mike Dawson.

Together, the foursome produces British-sounding pop music with a shoegazey touch all their own.

The Sound Inside opens up with Red Flags , a track reminiscent of those swirling enterprising sounds associated with Chris Martin and crew, showcasing Peira's vocal prowess across vast stretches of pop rock hooks.

The album kicks up a notch in Somewhere In Between , where you can hear the wholesome airy melodies and catchy cryptic beats of cited influence The Cranberries, and continues on with Peira's silky, intricate sound supported by quirky, experimental instrumentation.

Drawing to a dramatic close with I Am Not Awake , a more somber song laced with simple yet insightful lyrics and humbling guitar strums punctuated by lullaby-esque tinges, the band of four bids farewell while listeners beg for an encore.

In Flight Radio soared on the kudos accorded their self-titled debut, thanks in large part to the presence of their superb singer, simply known as Peira. While this follow-up finds the remainder of the foursome—guitarist Darko Saric, drummer Mike Dawson and bassist Devin Krug—providing able support, it's Peira's pliable vocals that take the music from a whisper to a scream, often within the expanse of a single song.

Combining the anguish of Sinéad O'Connor and the insistence of Natalie Merchant, Peira turns ballads like "Yelling Up to the Sky" and "Home" into plaintive pleas of remorse and reconciliation. It's familiar terrain, but Peira's performances elevate these compositions to the extraordinary.
