Wait, you said something about FREE?...
New faces promotion!
Because BT is now ready for primetime, we are giving our
fans a chance at some free stuff in exchange for some new faces. We hate
Hollywood promoters and already know you guys can do a better job.
Here’s the deal:
You bring… You
get…
|
2-3 New Faces
|
Free Entrance! (an $8 value)
|
|
4-7 New Faces
|
Free Entrance AND a Free (signed) CD (a $13 combined value)
|
|
8+ New Faces
|
Free Entrance AND a Free (signed) CD AND a BT TSHIRT (approximately a $33 combined value)
|
Notice: New faces are persons who have never previously attended
any live Benevolent Tomorrow performance, to the best of the combined (and
probably alcohol impaired) memories of the band. New persons must be paid in full for the Nov 14 show ($8).
Exceptions with regard to “what qualifies as a new
face”
will probably be made so just ask. For example, if you're a
husband/wife pair who come to all our shows, we'd probably be willing
to count one of you as a new face :)
Please
note Steve's (Mr. Bass Man's) birthday is Nov 15 (the following day) so feel free to liquor him up. After party at his house. Show up at the bar around 9 and help us drink.
Sincerely,
YOUR fans at: Benevolent Tomorrow

....................
Why "Benevolent Tomorrow?"
People have all sorts of opinions about our band name. Often times the criticism
is based on aesthetics instead of meaning, or even grammar.
In fact true grammar Nazis probably look at it and find themselves puzzled, as
grammatically it works yet it doesn't seem to make obvious sense (while
benevolent is definitely an adjective, and tomorrow is (usually) a noun,
Tomorrow can't really be benevolent unless we jump into the wonderful world of
personification).
Might as well be Thick Foresight, or Vapid Cubit, or Criminal Gourd. That's
okay, it's a band name. It's supposed to be weird. Karmageddon would make an
awesome band name, and it doesn't make any freaking sense either.
But I digress.
Most people interpret it as some sign of hope, which is great. Others look at
it as some sort of veiled threat, as in "I will be benevolent tomorrow,
but NOT today." That could be true as well. Still others just find it hard
to spell on the first try.
Believe me, it isn't. Sound it out. There ya' go.
I tend to side with the people who take the 'hope' angle. I find it interesting
to use the term 'benevolent' instead of a handful of other adjectives
that could convey clearer intentions. Charitable Tomorrow.
Compassionate Tomorrow. Perfect Tomorrow. While probably not very good band
names, their meanings are more obvious.
I like Benevolent though, and not just because it's vague. Words like
"perfect" describe the setting of tomorrow, while words like
"benevolent" describe the people in it.
Benevolence is an action that people have to do. It's not a state of mind. I
think Benevolent Tomorrow focuses on the physical and verbal conduct of individuals, rather than
the state of society as a whole.
We're appealing to you to be benevolent in a world ....................wrought
of wrong.
You want a Benevolent Tomorrow? It's up to you. And you can start today.
Steve

Benevolent Tomorrow, founded in 2005, is a five-piece Los Angeles based alternative-rock band. Led by vocalist Ben Bensadoun, the band’s music draws audiences from all walks of life. With lyrics that paint a vivid picture of the way their generation sees the world, fans develop a personal relationship with the music. Adding diversity while drawing from past experiences, all members are key songwriters striving to find memorable lyrics and melodies that transcend personal meaning and create a one of a kind sound.
After creating a deafening buzz throughout the California scene, Benevolent Tomorrow signed with Long Play Records for the release of their new EP. Recording at Woodland Studios under the watchful eye of producer Erik Ron (Slash, Guns N' Roses, Sparta, Foxy Shazam), the group’s self-titled EP blends elements of classic rock, grunge and even '90s pop punk to create a fresh sound. The band's eclectic mixture has earned them comparisons to classic modern rock giants like Foo Fighters and Stone Temple Pilots, as well as current chart topers like Shinedown and Buckcherry.
"The music scene in LA is hollow and missing its soul. I want to rip these drones out of their comfort zones and bring them back into a world where being at a show meant something," says vocalist Benjamin Bensadoun. "Rock concerts used to be places for people to be themselves and take a break from the expectations that were placed on them at work or home. Now I look around me at a show and people are texting or talking to their friends and enjoying the music has become secondary. We want to try and bring back that camaraderie and the excitement that live shows have."
One of Benevolent Tomorrows greatest assets is the powerful voice of frontman Ben Bensadoun. His captivating stage performance demands respect and invokes audience reaction. In addition to Bensadoun’s soaring vocal melodies, part of what gives Benevolent Tomorrow its authentic feel is the unique styling of lead guitarist Shivan. Deriving inspiration from blues and country, he incorporates an interesting blend of pulse-pounding leads that helps create the band’s distinct sound. Laying down dynamic bass lines that give Benevolent Tomorrow their appealing sound, bassist Steve Stensager adds a grunge undertone to the music. Bringing the energy and drive to Benevolent Tomorrow’s music is rhythm guitarist Joseph Kaufmann. His influences over the years have expanded to a more modern rock approach while still incorporating his classic rock roots. Playing for 12 years, drummer Daryl Falconer delivers the groove and powerful punch that gives Benevolent Tomorrow’s music intensity like no other. Over the last 4 years, Benevolent Tomorrow has grown to be one of Los Angeles’ finest up and coming rock bands earning them several awards including All Access Magazine’s “Best New Rock Band” and “Best Song.”
Their music is currently being played on several online radio programs. No stranger to the Sunset strip, Benevolent Tomorrow is a staple at the Whisky a Go Go performing there regularly as well as many other local spots ranging all throughout the Los Angeles area. Benevolent Tomorrow strives to keep their music fresh and hopes to soon perform nationally and have their message heard worldwide.

Well, our site has finally launched. Small things are expected to change about it periodicly but it's there AND IT NEEDS YOU!!
(Insert random Uncle Sam pic here)
We need any of you who have a shirt to put it on and strike a pose in front of any major landmark around where you live. Then Send the pic to us and we'll plaster it up on the myspace and the web site. Once we get enough I may just make a big old collage of them and make it the background who knows.
Whether you bought it or won/got it free at a show or you got it off of our site/myspace, it doesn't matter. All that matters is that you want to help. . . or just want gratuitous amounts of attention, whatever floats your boat.
Also something you should pick up while you're getting all of this exposure and such is OUR EP!!
Get a copy for just $7.50 from our online store on our Myspace page and website. If you like the music, than get a shirt too!
NOTICE!! One of the things about coming to our shows is that since you're such an awesome fan the CD is only $5 instead of $7.50. So keep an eye out for any shows you can make it to.
Or if you don't live Close enough to see us live, (Such as in Missouri, Illinois, New York etc.) once more grab our EP off our store on myspace & site or catch us on the web by streaming. . .
Sheena Metal's - http://www.musichighwayradio.com/
or on KUCR out of Riverside Ca. - http://kucr.org/
And remember I'm the guy on the Myspace all the time and I get bored refreshing the page. So if you've got an app you want more people in go ahead and add us to it. I may not play it (Sorority Life for example. . . though Steve may.) but we're happy to fill out your rosters. Also, by all means go ahead and talk to us. It's usually me or Steve on here and we like to think of ourselves as competent conversationalists.

Hello everyone, it's Ben here and I've got some really cool news.
We're playing the Dragonfly on Tuesday August 11 and we have a surprise for you. If you bring 5 people to the show with you, you will be entered in a random drawing to win $250 CASH MONEY. We're going on stage at 10pm sharp so make sure you get there a little early to make sure your guests get counted and you see the awesome show.
All you have to do is Send us a message saying you want to sign up for the contest, attend the show, tell the door person that you are here to see Benevolent Tomorrow and that you brought your 5 (or more) friends. The door person will count your guests and take you name down. We will announce the winner from stage and you can collect your cash after our set.
We'll probably do a video blog about it too so keep an eye out for that as well. :-p
One more thing I'd like to add though.
FEEL FREE TO BRING MORE THAN 5!!
More people, more fun. Plus the cover is only $5. Cheapest thing I've ever seen in Hollywood. So I hope to see you and all your friends there.
