Current mood: excited
Hey everyone,
2007 is a new year. And it also means a new band and new opportunity to rock CT!
What happens when you take the local CT bands "Farewell to Fairbanks" and "Exit 14" and put them in a blender? Apparently, it's a new project called "Everyone, But Us". www.myspace.com/everyonebutus
It's true; Doug and I have moved onto doing a new project with Jeff and Trent (both of "Exit 14" fame) and added a new drummer, Tim, and it looks very promising. It's a lighter vibe than before, a bit more Counting Crows and Matchbox 20 inspired, but I think a lot of the folks that enjoyed Farewell will enjoy some of the new tunes that the band is working on. It's catchy, it's poppy, it's melodic and has some great things going for it like 3 person vocal harmonies and solid songwriting.
The past month has been a fun one and I'm eager to await the fully mixed down versions of the new 3 song demo the band has recently recorded. I'm happy to say I continue to play lead guitar in this new project. Doug has retired the acoustic guitar for now and is playing bass and doing backup vocals in the new project. There may be a Farewell song or two that'll be resurfacing in the future as well ; ).
For those that are interested, stay tuned to www.myspace.com/everyonebutus.
Thanks everyone for the support with Farewell and I hope to see some of you this next year with the new project.
Take care and Happy New Year!, Chris

Current mood: distressed
that Farewell to Fairbanks must say "farewell" to its bands lifespan. Unfortunately there won't be an album release as expected and we are unsure as to whether this project will see the light of day again in the future. This decision has not come easily, but unfortunately there is nothing that can be done.
Farewell to Fairbanks would like to thank all of the venues that have had us play over the past year and the few fans that have made this band such an enjoyable experience, it was a pleasure playing for you all!
Take care, Chris, Doug and Paul (Farewell to Fairbanks)

Hey guys, I apologize on behalf of the band for the lack of updates. I look back at previous blogs like the "recording" blog back in March and shake my head at the thought of how much time has passed and how little progress has been made and its as frustrating for me as it is for you folks to not be able to share new material and a full length. It would be so easy with schedule conflicts to put the band on an eternal hiatus, but Doug and I believe in the music too much to let that happen.
The band is unfortunately still in dire need of a bassist. If anyone is up for making some fun rock and roll, please contact me at the_seattle_rocker@hotmail.com. Doug and I are still writing new material (I think the song count is up to 20 originals now) so hopefully the time will present itself for recording and gig opportunities.
For those of you that are still interested in the band and still check back here, thank you!!! The few friends we make after every gig is what makes this band so worth it and I'm hoping we'll be able to do it so more within the next few months. Take care guys and rock on!, Chris from FTF

Hey everyone,
So its been quite a while since the last blog entry, figured it was about time to catch everyone up on whats going on in the world of farewell to fairbanks...We caught a few rough breaks this past month of a couple of our shows getting cancelled but it was all good because it got us practicing and working on some great new material. The most commonly asked question is when will be releasing something to the public...and with all the songs we have right now, its hard for us to make a choice as to what we would be putting on out EP. So give us some advice...whats songs do you want to hear the most, for those of you that have only heard a few times, what styles of songs are you looking for? Just respond to the blog or leave us a message. All your advice helps. Thanks everyone

Hey Everyone,
We are hoping to go into recording soon, just looking for some input as to what our fans want to hear on it, we are debating between a shorter EP and a full length LP, depending on cost, so get back to us, we'd love to hear what you have to say. Thanks
the guys from FTF
