The Detritus page on Hairy Sloth Records is the new page i was telling you about where you'll be able to find some free unreleased tracks from the likes of me, AlGARhythm, Death To False Love, Benny Loco and Uncle Abuelito, Mr. Whitefolk, Drone Operator, Engine Heart, and more.

To break in the new page, Hairy Sloth Records posted unreleased tracks by Death To False Love and Benny Loco and Uncle Abuelito.
(Death To False Love is a collaborative effort by A Scissors and AlGARhythm.)

(Benny Loco and Uncle Abuelito hails from Boulder, Colorado, recently transplanted from central Florida.)

Both Benny Loco and DTFL have more tracks available on the Hairy Sloth Records Compilation Vol.1, The Central FLaw In Us All.)

YAY!!! GOOD NEWS!!

You might have noticed that
Hairy Sloth Records website was going through a few changes this week. There's a bunch of cool stuff happening. For instance, we've got some features brewing that will allow us to get our upcoming albums to you, in a safe and convenient manner. Also, see that tab that says, "Detritus?" The Detritus page is going to be for miscellaneous free stuff. Be it, mp3's, photos, videos, and anything else that may come to mind, you'll find it there. (Check there in a few days and you might find stuff from Death To False Love and A Scissors!) And then finally, (even though the site is still under construction for a few more days,) Hairy Sloth Records is proud to present:

Hairy Sloth Records - "The Central FLaw In Us All" -compilation-vol.1

a five dollar mp3 download (think of all the free stuff we've given you in the past.)

Hey, you notice that the older "free" ep's are now marked 3 bucks? Don't worry about that. Hairy Sloth Records is going through some changes to make things better for you in the end. The new $3.00 price tag will be a sliding scale or donation optional. It will serve as a reminder, that yes, you can get it for free, but, donations certainly help things stay smooth and allows us to offer things for lower prices (if not free.)
If you want the EP's today, and are willing to pay the $3.00, then go right ahead. By all means!

This song was originally recorded for a compilation due to be put out by a uk indie label, Love Love Records.  That was nearly a year ago.  I haven't heard much from them or that project, and this morning i just happened to come across a bulletin they posted.  Apparently, some kind of shit hit the fan, because they're claiming to be under "new management," that the compilation has been cancelled, and that all songs due out on the comp, were lost.
Well, fuck....that sucks.

Fourteen Cups Of Tea will now be available on my upcoming lp, due out this year, along with, Approaching Sunlight, How To Drown A Whale, and a whole bunch more.

I think it is kind of fucked that  i found out through a bulletin post.  They could have just sent me an email saying, "hey man, we don't have our shit straight, sorry about the comp."

fuck it...i guess unprofessionalism is the easy road.

Beware of those bridges you burn.

Ps..  i'm figuring a way to get you guys a copy of Flours Part One for free, too.  I can't release it, due to the huge illegal sample.  Keep your eyes peeled.  (what a strange saying.)

The guys from Mental Monkey Records has curated a "secret mixtape" they will be promoting for the next several weeks.  Each week they showcase a single of the week, and for week six, my song, Help Us Bury Him, will be that single for that week.  It's a pretty neat concept that i'm happy to be apart of.  So, check it out here: www.secretmixtape.com and make sure you check out the other artists, which are really cool as well.

Thanks to Mental Monkey Records, and thanks to all of you for the support.  It means a lot to me.

Miriam Lorenzi is a photographer and one of the feature artists for Nyahzul's Heart Shaped Bruises show that i played music for.  After the show Miriam, who was very polite and quite nice, came up to me and introduced herself.  She was on her way out when she mentioned something about a blog and said she'd email me.  A few days later i got a questionaire/interview from her and not even a day or so after that, she emails me with the link to the blog/write-up about your tall and skinny electronic eclectitian-me, Brian Cunningham, aka...A Scissors.
and i wanted to share...
so, thanks Miriam!

Here's a little bit about what's going on in my world.
I'm still pushing my EP, Faster,(songs include: The Pig Is Dead, Help Us Bury Him, Youth, Frogs, Snakes, and Lizards, Hey Franny, it's Zooey, and OneFourThree) that came out late last year.  It's available for free through Hairy Sloth Records, along with two other phenomenal releases by electronic musicians AlGARhythm and Mr.Whitefolk.  Here's the link for all three: http://hairyslothrecords.com/music/
I am currently working on a new full lenght LP due sometime mid-summer.  In the meantime, Love Love Records, from the UK, is releasing a compilation of down tempo/ambient/chill-kind of stuff.  My track, Fourteen Cups Of Tea, will be on it.  All of the other artists that have tracks are top notch electronic rocker technicians.  So, check that out.  Release date is set for March 16, and you'll find it here at their website: http://loveloverecords.co.uk
Also, Hairy Sloth Records will be releasing a compilation of excellent Florida based-underground bands and electronic artists including: AlGARhythm, Xenlab, Drone Operator, Mr.Whitefolk, Ars Phoenix, Benny Loco, and more.  My track, Speaking In Cursive, will be on it.  All  for free download, of course. That will be  OUT SOON.  You can check for updates at http://hairyslothrecords.com
Also, February 13th, (yes, friday the 13th,) artist, Nyahzul ( http://www.myspace.com/nyazhul ,) will be hosting her art opening for her show, Heart Shaped Bruises, at Will's Pub in Orlando, Florida.  It will of course be displaying her current work.  There will also be live music performances by, The Future On Films and Space, AlGARhythm, and me, A Scissors

Fully lit art display 7pm-9pm.  Music at 9pm.  Cost: five measly dollars.  missing this would seriously damage your reputation, suck you dry-completely void of any real grasp on anything vivid and new, cause blisters of apathy to form over your do something worthwhile cells, soon resulting in your awaited place in a registered plastic world where nothing is good and everything is agonally the exact same thing it's always been to you-fucking boring.

love,
